That said, it is a bright and pleasant spot from which you can watch the world go by as you enjoy the delicious food. There is a wide range of cakes and there is usually a coffee and cake special offer available which is great value for money. The staff are very pleasant and a lot of regulars go and are greeted by name which is lovely. Most enjoyable for a sit down and natter.

The young waitress was completely uninterested and rather quick at getting away - typical 17 year old girl who clearly has better things to do with her time and doesn't want to be here. The food is slightly more expensive than other places near here too; the Café Marina is much nicer (just up the road, friendlier staff, cheaper prices, better music). Give this one a miss.

Unlike most of the traditional cafe's lining this street I find this place fairly 'clinical' I've been on several occasions and never been greatly impressed with the service or the food. I think if it has been much cheaper and more in line with the other cafe's close by I would be far less critical and more accepting of things. Overall I find this a fairly narrow offering that's certainly overpriced. I suggest going elsewhere so enjoy a traditional cafe atmosphere

The decor is a bit dated but clean and well maintained, the service is good, staff are friendly. The establishment DOESN'T accept credit or debit cards, it's cash only. The music is s bit 'ballroom' but it ties in with the history of the cafe (1932). The toilets are fresh, clean and well maintained and there is a separate disabled toilet. Overall, an excellent Sunday afternoon lunch !!!
