TANDOORI TAKE-OUT…read more Our preferred spot for Indian food has amazing butter chicken & tikka masala, even though we're not sure which is which. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Every 1-2 months, my wife and I--having exhausted the other options of sushi, pizza, gyros, and wings--find ourselves placing an order at Kababish. This restaurant is located on Hassert & Route 59 in Naperville, and although they've been in business for some time, I'm stunned that I'm the first to review them on Yelp. The chicken tikka masala ($15) and butter chicken ($15) are equally good, but never labeled--the yellow one is distinctly spicier and uses large chunks of white meat, while the red one is sweeter with strips of chicken. According to Google AI, however, butter chicken is milder and creamier, whereas chicken tikka masala uses more spices and has a reddish color. We still have no idea. Garlic naan ($3.50) is perfect for mopping up leftover sauce, and they're kind enough to include a small bucket of rice with each entrée. Some places have the stones to charge you for plain white rice, even though it's absurdly cheap, so I'm glad that Kababish doesn't play those games. My wife also usually orders a mango lassi ($5), a yogurt-based drink with cardamom. We've typically ordered through Grubhub, UberEats, or Doordash (with the occasional in-person pickup), but the few interactions I've had with the guy at the carryout counter have been friendly. * TL;DR * This unassuming spot in Naperville has some of the tastiest tikka masala out there. For a while, we went to Sara's Indian but when we realized they were ripping us off (white rice was extra), we started giving our business to Kababish and haven't looked back. Sometimes the spiciness level of the butter chicken changes, but the deliciousness doesn't. The Indian food here is tops, they've made us lifelong customers! Highly recommended.

Like a lot of Asian restos, this place isn't much to look at inside…read more It's clean, but sparse. In other Yelps I've said this either indicates the joint is going to suck out loud, OR have serious cuisine. Happily, Anika is safely on the "Serious" side. I'm a plus-size fellow and I thought I was going to pancake the plastique chairs, but they held firm. I was the only diner in the room, but there was a steady stream of Indian folks coming by to pick up catering orders-a good sign. There was a timid young girl acting as "waitress". She looked scared when she approached, but was warm nonetheless. After serving, she repaired to a table in front with what looked like her homework. This was actually re-assuring, 'cos I took this as evidence this was a family restaurant, and was relatively sure someone named "Anika" was actually in the kitchen whipping up this great food. I went with "Vellulli Chicken" for Hors D'oeuvre and Kohlapuri Mutton for Entreé. The Velulli was kind of like an Indian Chile Relleno. A very interesting dish. The Mutton was a fine curry yielding a third course considering sopping up the great sauce with the excellent Roti. Diet pop in the can was the vin ordinaire of the day. Prices a bit higher than I expected, but worth the excellent meal. As I was leaving, another fellow was entering to pick up a Catering order. A solid 4 stars.

Obviously, no one was comfortable eating from the tray, and I threw it out. Because it was $90 of food wasted, I called to get a refund on 6/1. After the fourth phone call, the manager finally called me back four days later on 6/4. He spoke in a condescending tone and said he would only give the refund if I brought back the food. But who keeps food for four days as evidence?! He also stated that if the refund was given, it would be taken out of the kitchen staff's salaries. I never got the refund because I'm not digging through my trash for the biryani. Good luck running a restaurant with this sense of poor customer service!

We ordered butter chicken which my husband said was delicious. We ordered vegetable samosa, temperature hot, spice was a little hotter than expected, but not overly. I ordered paneer tikka masala. However they were out of paneer so they subbed chicken tikka masala. They did call and ask if it was ok before hand and I okayed it. It was good the chicken was tender and juicy. We also ordered the chicken Boti roll my husband said it was very good, I thought it was good. For the breads I ordered garlic naan it seemed a little thicker than I see normally. It was not pre-sliced. It was still warm and delicious. I also tried the roghni naan. It was thick also and not pre-sliced. I wanted to try it, but I prefer the garlic naan instead. We ordered a serving of rice, it was large and good. Lastly we ordered the gulab jamun, I thought it was going to be served warm, but it was not. It was tasty and helped to cleanse the palate. Also, I appreciated that it was not packed with the warm food if it was not intended to be warm. The gentleman at the counter was very kind and appreciative of our business. Overall 5 stars!
