But I wanted to talk about the restaurant and dining room because I don't feel like they deserve enough praise for the amount of work and attention to detail these guys put it to this place. When I say these guys work hard to really deliver exceptional service, I mean it. The dining experience is the icing on the cake after a long day of taking in the beautiful scenery just steps outside. This place just closes the deal on the overall breathtaking memory of Hallstatt. It's ambience inside is mostly "fancy" but there is no expectation to look done up, they understand most of us are traveling through, and this doesn't stop them from treating everyone like royalty. I regret not taking more pictures of the food but i got the daily breakfast buffet (two days) and sat there & ate my heart out for a good hour. I stopped in for dessert and got the crème brûlée with a glass of wine after touring and what a delight it was. I could've licked the pan! When he saw our group (which included a disabled child) he shook his head and said "no, we are closing soon". I responded with "your sign says you are open until 10:00 PM". He responded "no we can't" referring to us eating there!!! I have never received such terrible service (or lack thereof) in my entire life! All because we have a disabled child with us?!
