Hands down, the best savoury scones in NZ! A great stop for those heading north to Christchurch.

Absolutely loved the Addington. Great atmosphere, great menu. Highly recommend…read more We had brunch here: - salmon benedict (4.5 stars) - avo (4.5 stars, 5 stars for the halloumi, which was life-changing) - mushroom (5 stars), but then again I love mushrooms - scone (4 stars) - sweet and buttery, but I'm not much of a sweets person. Plus I had a BLTA sandwich (5 stars) as a take-away as I embarked on my day trip to Arthur's Pass. Ate it next to the mountains... so good.

Best brunch spot in ChCh! And this city loves them some brunch! Went here three times and it was…read morejust as good every time. Busy busy place but it's big and spacious inside so they can handle all the people. You might have to eat on the sofa in the front by the front door but ayyy food is worth the inconvenience haha. They always keep their menu simple which is nice because it makes deciding what to eat easier. One page and they vary it with a few options. The famous English style breakfast, eggs benny, some more general breakfast choices and what I got, the french toast plate with streaky bacon. In NZ they like to cook their bacon a little underdone which I didn't think I would like but I love it! They put in between the toast add some fruit, syrup and cream. It was amazing! I'm that guy that usually orders the best thing out of my friends and they all wish they got what I got.. this was one of those times haha. Definitely recommend.. It's a bit pricey here, between $17 - $23 depending on your choice. My French Toast was $20. They're famous for coffee here but I'm not really into coffee much(don't hate me) but I did get hooked on Chai lattes. Spicy or sweet, it's up to you. I wasn't feeling so spicy that morning, hangover vibes... so I got sweet. You order at a counter and then seat yourself. Instead of giving numbers to ID your table they give you a random country flag. Funny enough, the cashier said I look either Canadian or from California. So she gave me the Canada flag. Thanks EH. Do I really give off such a strong California vibe? I got that a few times when traveling around hahah. Amazing food, nice interior vibes, Chai was dank. 5 stars!

Addington Coffee Co-op - Yummy BLTA, greens are a bit wilted because it was a take-away, and I left it in the hot car for some time. STILL DELICIOUS.

Twizel be but a small, gateway town to Mount Cook/ Aoraki, but somehow this quality eatery exists…read more I think like most, we already had quite a bit of red meat up to that point, so the Asian inspired menu with chicken and fish was a pleasant sight. The eatery also houses Burkes Brewing Co. which is a part of the the NZ Ale Trail, so fresh suds poured from clean lines were had alongside our dinner. I ordered Fusion Fish & Chips (35 NZD; sake marinated battered fish, aurora sauce, and fries) and the S.O. a Chicken Burger (30 NZD; marinated fried chicken, nagoya sauce, mayo, tomato, slaw, and fries). We missed that the chicken burger was fried though somehow this came out a tad cold which tells me this was reheated. My Fish and Chips, on the other hand, came out piping hot. The batter was a little thicker on these bad boys (hence the fusion to English style fish and chips?) and the sauce more a tomato based creamy sauce than tarter sauce. I was ravenous so this was consumed in earnest. This came with a refreshing side of shredded cabbage, the aurora sauce serving as a good dressing for this. I'd say I was mostly a happy camper, though the boy probably not so much. Though our goal was to avoid red meat, we still ate heavy with all the fried food. Pricing was on the upper end, but there isn't much room for competition around so it is what is it.
