When I walked in, I saw a case of desserts that looked good but I didn't get any. The meza platter was decent especially the grape leaves and the cabbage rolls. The tabouli was a little too tart to my liking, but the inside was quite cozy. The chicken au poivre was alright since the sauce was pretty good, but the chicken is a little dry. On the other hand, the server was pretty friendly. If I were to come back, I would order something else for the main course. read more

It was pretty quiet in the restaurant because we went around 2:00 p.m. which is after the lunch crowd. So for me it was perfect. We got to sit where we wanted to and waitress came over immediately brought water. Came back and took our order. I did not go to the restaurant yet but my meal today was door-dashed so you know how that can go. I was captivated by the fattoush salad from the reviews of others so I decided to give this place a try. I loved my food and ate every bite of it. The salad was great and not overpowered by the herbs. The pita chips were crunchy and thin so it complimented the texture of the salad. I had the chicken au poivre which was amazing!!! The flavor takes to you to a paradise and every bite was creamy and fresh!! Don't judge me but that was also my first time eating a green peppercorn. I kept saying, " what is this tiny ball of spring time I keep biting into haha". My fiancé enjoy his beef shawarma but he did insist that next time he would rather have the chicken au poivre. This used to be our go to place a couple of months ago we went there. The food was horrible. The service was mediocre. We gave it a rest went back tonight. Absolutely horrible. No one in the dining room was receiving food. Tables were getting up and walking out. We sat there for 55 minutes waiting on hummus as our appetizer finally left two glasses of wine. The owners have checked out they no longer work their restaurant allow the employees just to run the zoo They are living off Covid money and they don't give a shit We're telling everyone as they walk to the door don't eat here. No one in the restaurant has received food and they were laughing at us until they saw it themselves. The owner is a very good chef produces some great pastries, but he doesn't wanna work anymore. I went with a friend to Cafe Maurice on a weekend. It wasn't crowded since most orders were takeouts. Our waitress was attentive and our food wait was fast! As for the food, I really enjoyed the chicken shawarma, the flavor profile was on point with its creamy and tangy sauce and tasty grilling flavor (from chicken)! I ordered steamed vegetables for nutritional purposes, there is not much to review on this side dish since it is not a seasoned dish, but I liked that it was not overcook. The spinach pie appetizer was something new me and my friend wanted to try. I was expecting traditional pie crust, but this dish is made with a more bread-like crust. The spinach inside is very tangy, unsure what acidic element was infused with. I didn't think it paired well with the yogurt since it amplified the sourness of the dish, but perhaps that is just my tastebuds. Overall, it wasn't bad, just not a future preference of mine. The complimentary tiramisu was delicious! The layers were perfectly cooled and NOT frozen (which I've experienced in other places), so I give them props for thawing this dessert properly. read more

After seeing the great reviews, my mom and I stopped here for lunch. I've had some great Mediterranean food in Wichita and I think Cafe Maurice is at the top of the list now. Their hummus was perfectly creamy and the smoked paprika added to the overall flavor. I ordered the gyro with the fattoush salad. Both items were enjoyable and I would order them again. Cannot believe how long I've lived ten minutes away and have never stopped in until yesterday. SO GOOD. Our server was great for both me and my toddler, and my long island tea was made well. Cafe Maurice has become one of my newest "go to" spots for great food in Wichita. I had salmon and vegetables and was absolutely blown away by the seasoning on the vegetables. I would go back just to get those! The salmon was done perfectly as well. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside! And, though the Thursday night dinner crowd was overwhelmingly older, I believe families would be welcome. Mediterranean dishes like tabouli, kafta, chicken or beef shawarma, pasta carbonara, and vegetable curry are supplemented with mac and cheese, burgers, spring mix salad, grilled salmon and fish or chicken sandwiches. The varied menu should satisfy those with a meat and potatoes bent or adventurous diners. My salmon was wonderfully grilled with a veggie medley that included at least six different vegetables plus mushrooms. I opted for a couple skewers of grilled shrimp. I remember the first time when I dined at Cafe Maurice. It was for my 21st birthday. After checking out the menu online I knew it would be a memorable 21st; good food and good company! On a recent visit, our group of 8 were having a going away dinner for a friend. I ordered a chicken shawarma pita sandwich which was absolutely delicious. The marinade of the chicken was savory and the pita was crispy. My side dish was the cream of mushroom of soup since I read some positive reviews on it. It was tasty, there were lots of thinly sliced mushrooms and the consistency was perfect. At the end of our dinner we got a small complimentary tiramisu piece. Something sweet to complete our meal. Yum! One down fall was the service. Our waitress was inattentive and not very friendly. We ordered appetizers and then we had to wave her down once we were almost done with the appetizers to order our main entree. However, the tasty food is what brings me and my guests back. read more

1. Ambiance: The restaurant is casual and has a melancholy feel upon entrance. There were mahogany tables and chairs throughout the restaurant. They also have dark colored booths as well. Despite the gloomy colors, plenty of sunshine comes through the windows to brighten up the place. 2. Food: I had ordered the falafel sandwich and french fries. I wish the falafel would fill out the sandwich a little more so it wouldn't be so stuffed with lettuce and tomatoes. The fries were crispy and delicious. I love their fries so much! 3. Service: Our waitress, Bridgett, did a great job in assisting our table. She gave us ample time to catch up and then took our order. She was patient and attentive. 4. Costs: The meal costs $8.95. I thought it was reasonable for the portion of the food. 5. Overall Experience: I had a great experience here and will definitely return to try other items. I have come here a bunch of times for business lunches with folks who work on the northeast side of Wichita. It is next door to Greystone, which is a nice upscale restaurant. The ambiance is casual and simple. Very strip mall Wichita style, so I would not take a date here. The service is friendly, prompt, with a smile, so all good there. The food is yummy. Hummus is some of the best I have had, and both the pita bread and pita chip are up there standards-wise. I have had the shwarma (sp?) platter, and I really liked it. Pretty solid mediterranean (middle eastern) eatery, with no frills. If the ambiance were a bit more stylish, it would deserve 5 stars. read more

Right after Covid they dramatically increased prices and discontinued my favorite dish, Grilled chicken artichoke pasta, we haven't been back since. My first bad experience at Cafe Maurice. Four of us went for a ladies night and to celebrate a birthday. The waitress never came to check on us after our food came out and unfortunately the birthday girl's food was not correct. One of us had to finally go flag her down to tell her about the incorrect food. Then we waited and waited. The other three of us finished eating and still we waited. We finally had to walk over to the waitress again to ask her about the food order. It did come out then but by that time our water glasses had been empty for the whole meal, we all felt annoyed about the situation and we requested the food be put into a box. We did ask about the tiramisu as that's normally a nice finish to the meal. We were told that this was no longer happening as they had new desserts to sell but that we could buy one for $1.50 each. This just seemed like insult to injury after the poor birthday girl didn't even get any dinner. Not the usual experience from this restaurant and very disappointing to be sure. read more

There were paying customers standing everywhere waiting on a table-but, instead, management let a group of guys (7) sit at three tables doing nothing but drinking water for well over an hour. No food ordered. Nothing. Obviously management didn't care. Tables needed to be bussed so folks could sit. Drinks needed to be refilled. Orders needed to be fulfilled. It was bad. My waitress did acknowledge that she forgot part of my order when she brought me the check. Only come here a few times but have GREAT salads ... its all ive gotten lol but pretty tasty and have a great vinaigrette dressing! They have great chicken you can add to them (i recommend getting it blackened) adds good flavor to it. They give you mini pieces of tiramisu to go when you leave which is nice but i recommend just going for it and ordering a whole slice of tiramisu they super light a fluffy and have a wonderful whip cream to it!
