Everything about this place is wonderful, the food, service and ambiance. The food is delicious, we would have the bagels and lox, but all the food looks wonderful. The people are warm and welcoming, Adda (sp) is especially very nice and makes us feel welcome even though we are not able to speak German, her English is great. If you are at the Hilton Waterfront it is a short 10 minute walk and more than worth it if you drive here it is also very much worth it. We went here everyday they are open! read more

If you are looking for a simple breakfast, or an breakfast worthy of a king, then this is not the place for you. However if you want something heavier, but still simple, this IS the place for you! As an American, and one who loves to eat, I am used to breakfast being a bit heavier than the lighter, more European breakfast fare. While European breakfast is lovely, sometimes I just want to load up on calories in the morning. Don't let the 3 stars fool you, this is a great breakfast place! There were just a couple of things which kept my experience from being perfect. This place fit the bill for that wonderfully. I ordered a big English breakfast, and a Willard's salted-caramel hot chocolate. Hot chocolate was very nice! It was not too sweet, not too hot, and the salted caramel flavor did not overwhelm it! But beware, if you are, like me, the kind of person who needs a cup of something caffeinated to get your morning started, order (also) coffee or tea. English breakfast was a very simple dish, but full of different ingredients. Out of what I can remember... Two eggs, over easy and delightfully runny. Toast was well toasted, came with butter, but being out of the fridge, it was a little hard to spread (I would have preferred toast that is already a little buttery). Bacon... 3 large, wide, thick, hot slices of balanced-crispy deliciousness. When they came out of the kitchen, the oil on the bacon was still boiling slightly. However, the bacon was a little bit short of something to dream about, since some pieces were a bit chewy in places. I liked the grilled tomatoes more than I thought I would. Usually, I am not a fan of warm tomatoes, but these were grilled just enough to give them a boost of flavor, but not so much that they become entirely warm. Beans were good, a very appropriate quantity. Don't quote me on it, but I believe the beans they used were "Heinz Beanz". Sausage/Wurst was also good, but I would have liked just a touch more flavor from them. While they had good flavor, they could benefit from more spices. Orange juice being included was a nice touch! However, it would have been better if it was chilled as opposed to room temperature. Good Service! read more

As I scrolled through my collections of pictures taken from my europe visit, it was still exciting to see food pictures taken from this quaint little cafe and reminded me how fun my trip was to explore new places. I found this place my proximity from my airbnb place, and since it has a fairly good review on yelp, we gave it a try and it was a pleasant find. As you walk in, you were greeted by a very british decors: flags, the waving queen in the cake case, buses and very cosy christmas decorations. The store feels very welcoming with a full case of cake displays all around the counter. However, the waitress doesnt seem very friendly at first. (Maybe its our overly casual attitude as Californian?) Since we sat down, we didn't have any menus and we were hungry, so I went up to grab a menu. And the waitress quickly took it from me and told me, I wouldn't 't understand it because it wasn't written in english. I thought the act was sort of rude. But she seemed to lighten up after awhile. So lesson learned, wait for your menu and server in vienna, or you might be intruding. So we ordered a royal breakfast, a traditional English breakfast, a tomato and mozzarella bagel and a quiche. They were all very well presented ( even the toast came in cute heart shaped). As said as the name, a royal breakfast comes with slices of different type of salami, cheese and fruits with a glass of champagne. They were all goes very well together like a harmonized Symphony. ( very vienna like :) ) while the English breakfast is exactly what in wanted with baked beans, fresh grilled tomatoes some bacon and eggs. I loved how all the ingredients are fresh and just simple cooking to put together. You get to just enjoy the simplicity of food. As much as we wanted to try out their dessert, we were so full after brunch that we have to skip out on it. (They gave us lots of bread and toast along with the breakfast. ) I would definetely come back for more if I have more days of stay in vienna. read more

Just a 5 minute walk from the U2 Krieau metro stop lays the adorably cute British tea-room inspired cafe, Cafe Little Britain. I discovered this charming place through Instagram at first and was so intrigued by the tea-room environment and delicious-looking well-portioned breakfasts I knew I had to check this place out. First off, if you are going to come here on the weekend, I suggest you make reservations for this cafe (either by phone or e-mail), otherwise you may have to sit outside, and I'm quite sure you'd want to enjoy the tea-room ambiance inside. So, for beverages, they serve a nice variety of teas, coffees, smoothies, non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, and to my delight, a variety of specialty drinks like White Chocolate, and Creme Brulee. I enjoy coming here for breakfast and indulging in one of their finely imported British teas. The meals provided are ranged from bagel sandwiches to English breakfasts, vegan breakfasts, yogurt with muesli in a glass, variety of soups and sandwiches, British speciality snacks like scones, and much more. And don't forget about the desserts or sweets: there are plenty of them and right in front of you when you walk in the cafe. A different assortment of cakes, cookies and cupcakes are freshly baked and different every day, so another excuse to visit this place regularly -- there is so much to try and taste! Generally, this cafe is for everyone, but also a nice place to bring your girl friends to chat, celebrate a new job, or an engagement. I went to Cafe Little Britain with ladies from the "Women of Vienna" group and loved it! Just by looking at the interior it is is soon clear that this is probably one of the nicest places one could possibly go to! I had the Royal Breakfast which was indeed very royal (with salmon, a selection of berries, cheese, bread, scrambled eggs and a glass of sparkling wine). In addition I ordered the rose lemonade from Fantimans (nothing could ever go wrong with ordering drinks from this brand!). I think those 13 euros I payed for were worth the food and prices here in general are quite fair... I just wish they had at least one more waiter on weekends. The waitress was lovely and very friendly but I think it is too much work for one waiter if the cafe is full. Also it may be tricky to find the place itself, since it is hidden in the 2nd district at such a place where you would never expect to find it :) But even though it is a bit far away from the center, the tasty food and drinks will make you forget all the trouble. read more

It's seriously a hidden gem in Vienna and I'm really surprised more people don't know about it. Yes it's probably a little farther from the city but it's DEFINITELY WORTH IT. We found this place looking for some tea (my friends) and food/coffee for me. It was brilliant. Three colleagues, fixated on their food and caffeine needs. The Brit of the group loved the authentic tea and banana/toffee pie (I forget the proper name). My coffee and salmon bagel was spot on what I needed. Very close to the U2 line. Check it out. I found the reviews misleading.. They took me all the way to this residential area, I took the time to find the parking spot - not easy on that particular day, but I was all excited and hopeful it would pay off. And then ta-da: turns out it did not. Looking at the photos and reading about it, I expected a totally different flair... Something small and cosy all in white except for the delicious cakes, ok some victorian decor here and there, but tasty above all, where maybe - why not - only English is spoken, run by natives.... Little Britain had potential to be all that, but then something went wrong along the way. It could have been very chic, cause there are indeed some beautiful pieces of shabby furniture around, and white cabinets which reminded me of my favourite deli in Cape Town somewhere.. But there are always around ten redundant pieces of cheap decorations per one lovely piece of shabiness - so instead of shabby chic that was flirted with, the result is only kitschy chic. Overcrowded with things, and that floral wallpaper (?) across the wall was scary to look at. I dreamt of throwing out two thirds of everything, and painting that wall white. You could have the victorian abundancy of ornament i guess, but it would have to be done with a lot of design skill. Otherwise, you take the safe way and throw that all out. Unfortunately, only the cakes we had were following the "less is more" logic all of a sudden. That means they were kind of vegan- meaning brownie didn´t taste of much, rum ball slightly of some dry fruit it was sweetened with - which would be ok, but didnt make up for the overall emptiness of taste. In one word, not my cup of tea. Going to Little Britain in order to experience a bit of Britain is like buying things at a museum shop in order to bring art home with you. It is something that screams from afar: I am only a substitute, and I am hardly even making an effort to convince you otherwise. read more
