It is always interesting…read morewhen traveling to explore local restaurants and to find a true gem like this is exceptional. From the get-go when we entered the restaurant, we were welcomed and the staff was very attentive. They change their menu up often and there were several good options. Being low carb boy, I was looking at the choices, but after our waiter detailed their signature veal dish, we were hooked. It was outstanding and really blew our minds. True meaty goodness that was one of the most phenomenal things I have had in a long time. We are tempted to return just to have that dish again. It is a ball of veal stuffed with ham, Italian sausage and fontina cheese. It is covered in a peppercorn sauce that was incredibly yummy. I cannot recommend this dish more. Truly worth the trip to try. We tend to avoid sugar, but, it was a very special evening, so we tried the Eton Mess and were not disappointed. Not too sweet, with strawberries and blueberries immersed in rich, heavy cream that has roasted almonds and pieces of meringues. I am sure it blew my carb count for the day. I look forward to my return and encourage you to check it out.

There are good vegetarian choices, but plently of good meat dishes. Some of the meals are quite unusual: I have had Venison and Rabbit there. The meals are not cheap (roughly £12-15 per main meal) but I can honestly say they are worth every penny, so worth a special trip. The atmosphere is quiet and cosy; perfect for a romantic dinner. Although I am sure they could cope with bigger groups, they didn't seem to be set up for it so you may need to book ahead. If there are just 2 you should be find without booking on a week night, but I wouldn't risk it on the weekend. The staff are friendly and attentive and will make recommendations from the menu if you want. The wine list is extensive and (althought I am not a wine expert) seemed good. I have always been happy with my choice.

Just to make it clear: this is not a prestigious restaurant: the table was cleaned after I took a sit, soft drinks were put into storage just around the point I was sitting. Something kept beeping every half a minute or so - low battery fire alarm? The young waitress thought there was no free soft drink with the starter I was ordering while it was clearly mentioned in the menu. Aside the above minor points, the place was busy even on a Wednesday night. I picked traditional Nepalese dishes, bit unusual the wheat / flour mix I added a photo off, sticky texture , mouth-watering lamb curry, spicy sides, and a free mango juice that you have to drink straight from the carton with a straw. Really tasty food, friendly service, nice touch with the dishes pictures in the menu. I would try new dishes in the future!!!

Eating in Reading is like eating the same thing, at the same stupid price with different coloured wallpaper. Not here!!! Honestly I don't remember what I ate, I think we ordered buffalo but it was all fantastic. We ordered an assortment of meals, we shared all of them. We left full and satisfied. This place is excellent, get out of the same old restaurants and try something great.

When I do go I prefer sitting in since the atmosphere is nice with the music and the presentation of the food but if you take out as a student you get 15% off. Some of the dishes are served with heating candles underneath so it stays nice and hot throughout your meal. It's a bit unassuming on the outside and usually not very busy but it is 5 star rated and very clean. The dishes are around 8-9 pound for mains. If you go on Tuesday (Curry night) for 9.95 you can get a starter (I love the chicken or lamb) main, vegetable dish and either rice or naan (I believe they make the best naan out of all the indian restaurants I've tried in my area) The garlic naan is so delicious! Sometimes I just get some naan from there on my way home because it's so great. I wish they made them bigger since they're roughly the size of a personal pizza from pizza hut, so it's expensive on its own (about 2 pounds). They do loads of special offers so check out their website for them and some photos of the place. It's really close to the university, only a short walk from the Shinfield Road entrance.

Naan, hot mango chutney and raiti were among the extras. A cold Kingfisher on tap topped off the experience. Service was excellent. One server became irritated with me when I used the dessert dishes for my sauces - they were strictly for dessert! He did not hold a grudge and I had to chuckle at the situation. I'll be heading back to try the butter chicken.
