Great hearty breakfast until 2pm and a wide selection of lunch items including savoury pastries and sweets. The coffee is a mild roast which won't necessarily suit the hard-nosed coffee drinkers, but goes well with the café menu. Kitchen is clean, service is pleasant and the place has a nice vibe. The toilets are also modern and clean. Given you don't have a lot of choice within walking distance of this place, it's a good thing they're not lazy here.

The reason it was not toasted was because despite toasted items being the crux of their business they only had ONE toasted sandwich maker going! I excruciatingly watched on as the sandwich artist placed my sandwich then another 3 sandwiches one after another in the press over the course of my wait, hence continuously opening the struggling appliance. I cringed as she poked and prodded each sandwich, lifting their lids to see if melting was occurring every couple of minutes. It had no chance of doing what it was designed to do! It wasn't being given enough time to heat up to the required temp in order to toast the outside let alone melt the contents! After 20 mins of shaking my head in disbelief and drinking half my large coffee, I walked out with my soggy, untoasted, unmelted sandwich on brown bread not multigrain as advertised! All of which I may have begrudgingly excused if it was at least hot! To add insult to injury the whole ordeal cost me $21.00!!!!! No wonder this place is up for sale. Hopefully someone who can toast a sandwich and possibly afford a few more sandwich presses (just a thought) takes on the Melt Room. It has potential. The old country train carriage is set up so each compartment is private with a small dining table and seats. For lunch, two of us shared a bowl of potato wedges with sour cream and sweet chili dips also a chicken salad baguette. Followed of course with a nice coffee (latte). This is a good alternative to the cafè in the packing house which seems very busy.
