This place looked so pretty in their online pictures; that, plus buzz from the locals made we want to check it out. Well....it's not as pretty during the day because the cafe lights aren't turned on, so it looses some of it's ambiance.
The dining area is big and roomy, with large tables, and smaller group seatings spaced wide apart; private rooms are also available. There are large glass windows that look out onto the crowded pool area. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. The drink menu and dessert case are at the counter. Oddly, the food menu is located on a table between the back exit and resort pool area. They serve Twinings tea, Gifford syrups for flavoring, and Robusta coffee as their base to their coffee drinks,.
WE TRIED:
- Strawberry milkshake is yummy and made from fresh fruit
- Iced White Chocolate Mocha is strong.
- Carrot cake is delish
- Burnt Basque Cheesecake is thick and rich. It reminds me of a thick New York cheesecake
While we sat enjoying our food, tourists were walking through the cafe wearing their sunglasses, sun hats and carrying their floaties. The room was noisy with kids crying and running around the place. A place for families? Yes. Is it a quiet place for a date, or to get some work done? Absolutely not! They do have decent drinks and delicious desserts. I would consider coming earlier, when it's quiet.
FYI: The Red Sapang Bato jeeps run right past it, so it's easy to get to. read more
