Our hotel is right around the corner from this bakery and I'm glad I made a stop here! It was busy around 10am but we were able to grab a table up front by the display case. There's actually more seating behind the bar if you go around. The menu is extensive from breakfast foods to decadent desserts! I came here mainly for the nockerl and it takes 30 minutes to prepare. I also ordered an americano and apple strudel. Our waitress, Alexandra, was very nice and attentive. She had to bring another table for the presentation! She also made sure I had time to photography the nockerl. It did not disappoint! It was fluffy and I love the berry cream and the ice cream that came with! It was just the perfect amount of sweetness and definitely worth a try! The apple strudel was bathed in vanilla cream (you can also get it with ice cream). It was flaky and warm. Visited in July 2024. Nice cozy cafe to grab breakfast not too far from all the historical sites & the newer part of town. Looks like most of the locals get cappuccinos, hard boiled eggs & some kind of bread with cold cuts & some veggies. I got the semilina porridge (Grieß-Porridge) which is equivalent to what Americans might call 'Cream of Wheat'. It came with fresh jam & was very tasty. I also ordered the Ham, cheese and salami with bread side (Schinken, Käse, Salami) and an iced latte. All were yummy. Superior alternative if you are staying in a hotel, and want to avoid exorbitant hotel prices for breakfast. Also, clearly not a secret, as this place is packed by locals. Would recommend making a reservation, even for breakfast, although we lucked out and walked in as a party of four on a rainy Sunday morning. Inside vibe is excellent, and bustling atmosphere adds to the experience. Cappuccino, café latte, and espresso are all top-quality. Scrambled eggs seem to be a known thing here, and they are light and fluffy. Pastries looked great in the displace case, and the croissant was good, not exceptional, but good. Fresh fruit had some highs and lows, as pears and strawberries were good, but kiwis and melons were marginal. Pricing is very reasonable, and service is very attentive. This is a great place away from the crowds but close enough to hear the church bells. Tree lined street side cafe with an amazing coffee and strudel. Lots of people here so it must be popular. Strudel has thin flakey layers and a rich apple filling, still warm inside and the dough is light and melts in your mouth. First time in Salzburg, I wanted to eat breakfast where locals may go and decided this place may be good. They have nice patio seatings available but too many people were smoking when I arrived, so I decided to sit inside. They have a very high ceiling, I loved that open space. They serve very good coffee here. Simple regular coffee with cream was very good. I bet others are good too. I had a simple healthy breakfast as I was tired of eating buffet breakfast at a hotel for the past week and they served with fresh veggies and it was just what needed. Cute little cafe about 10min walk from the Salzburg Train Station. I had the vitality breakfast with two eggs easy over. Plenty of food, the fruit was very fresh, and the eggs were delicious. It was a little pricy I think, €36 for two. That being said, it was worth the money imo. read more

A very cozy place but not too small. Ideal if you like a place where you can relax, sit down for quite a while and read a good book while enjoying a beverage or all-day breakfast. 3 words: Breakfast All Day!! As sometimes happens while traveling, you get a late start and miss your hotel's breakfast hours. Thank goodness for this place. They have a great breakfast menu and their staff was very nice and we received prompt service. The breakfast we had was huge and delicious! The atmosphere is very quaint and it appears to be more of a local place to come for a bite, i.e. not touristy. A super chic, but cozy cafe serving all day breakfast and an array of sweets, pastries and cakes. HmmmMm. Perfect for an afternoon of catching up, be it with friends, writing in your diary, reading the news. Its just that place that draws people. They brew coffee using illy coffee brands, and my cappuccino was good and foamy, just what I needed after a strenuous hike in the morning. The waitstaff isn't too friendly, they seemed a bit overworked. But other than that, the cakes and coffee alone should mean that you should drop by when you get a chance. read more

Quite possibly the most impressive foam I have seen on a latte. Coffee quality was good (Afro brand coffee) but not great. Service was very slow on the patio. Speaking of patio, thank God it was available because it was 1,000 degrees inside. I know the Austrians majorly dislike air-conditioning but I prefer not to break a sweat on my upper lip while eating. And having the people at the table next to me sitting so close. The inside is cramped so avoid it if you can. I went with the scrambled eggs with herbs and a salted roll. It was decent albeit with too many herbs and a slightly off taste. The hubs did the small ham, salami and cheese plate. It was thoughtfully some. Size of a nice snack. Pretty good choice if you want something light. read more

Came here while visiting Salzburg for breakfast. I had read the Yelp comments and it received very good reviews. The reviews were true. I still have trouble in Germany/Austria with paying 10-15€ for bread, meat and cheese... but at least at Fingerlos it was good bread meat and cheese. We didn't have a reservation but and most tables had a "Reseviert" sign on them. We asked the waiter who found us a table that wasn't needed for two hours. The menu has several choices of different combinations of bread, meat, and cheese. And of course they also have eggs and pastries/cakes. The best part was the coffee. I live just plane, black coffee with no milk and no sugar. I find this really difficult to find in German/Austrian cafes that isn't extremely acidic and in need of milk and sugar. Fingerlos made an excellent cup of joe... no milk or sugar necessary. My fiancé had a cappuccino with the most frothy milk I've ever seen. It was also amazing. So, while the food is nothing special, definitely go here for the coffee. read more

Yum, yum and YUM. We were staying at a nearby hotel and asked the concierge where is good for breakfast. She suggested Cafe Fingerlos and it was superb. Make the most of the 3.95 bellinis/prosecco with your late breakfast. The scrambled eggs are particularly delicious here, and come with a variety of other options. It's predominantly a bakery, so obviously we had to try something of the delicious variety. We chose a donut looking thing, with orange jam in the centre. Really tasty. This place is reasonably priced, the food is great quality, and it's quite busy so has a reasonable atmosphere too. I'd recommend to those in the area. read more

Fingerlos exists ever since I can remember but I've only been there a couple of times for afternoon cake and coffee but I never had breakfast there so I had to try it. Went there on a Sunday morning and it was packed but we booked a table in advance so it was no big deal. They offer quite a few breakfast options (around 13 different ones), I went for a smoked salmon breakfast. It came with a mini croissant and jam, toast, bread rolls, a yogurt with fruit, a tiny grapefruit juice, an egg and of course smoked salmon with cream cheese and some veggies. You can choose between coffee or tea (included in the price) It's one of their bigger breakfast options so it's definitely enough to fill you up properly. Everything was of good quality, the bread was fresh, they fruit on the yogurt as well so nothing to complain here. Buuuttt the egg I got was still kinda raw (edible but too slimy for my taste) so I asked for a another one and got one which was cooked for longer. All in all the food itself was good and reasonably priced for what you get (14,50€) but the service wasn't great. Our waitress seemed stressed and wasn't friendly and when you need something (like when I wanted a new egg) you spend 3 minutes just trying to get the waitresses attention just then to be told that you have to ask her colleague because she is not in charge of your table. To be fair when we came the cafe was packed so it is completely understandable that it takes longer for a waitress or a waiter to notice and serve you but later only like half of the tables were occupied but we still waited and waited. To come to a conclusion, good breakfast, good quality, the ambience is very austrian means tiny tables and uncomfortable chairs, their cake selection is huge and just looking at it will make your mouth water but the service is a big thumbs down! read more

My son had the musli breakfast and found it passable, my daughter had a breakfast with scrambled eggs and really enjoyed the entire meal.
