Amazing. Eggs were delicious. Fresh orange juice was delightful. Great outdoor seating by the river. Staff was good. They had English menus. We were seated immediately (we arrived before 0800). 10/10 would recommend.

Vanilla Rum Strudel! So we missed the famous Sachertorte this place is known for, but made do with this outstanding strudel! Was a Plum rum strudel with Vanilla cream sauce that was amazing! Quick update, they do NOT take debit or credit. ONLY Euro€

Perfect spot for breakfast by the river.

Excellent spot for great breakfast by the river overlooking the old town and castles.

This is a historic and one of the longest-standing cafes in Salzburg and many travel sites mention this as a must-see when visiting. While it is indeed a beautiful place to sit along the river and people watch, the pastries are overpriced and not that great. I suppose you're paying for the experience, but there easily better quality cafes along the river that won't cost as much.

Nice cafe right by the river. The atmosphere was relaxed and chill. We went for brunch and they had a good amount of drink options and the meals were tasty. Not the biggest menu but everything seemed well made a fresh.

Amazing cake here- not Sacher torte, but still wonderful!

On our trip to salzburg, my husband and I tried to visit as many coffee houses as possible haha. We have become obsessed the with coffee and cake culture here. And we were very pleased with our experience at Cafe Bazar. We split a piece of cake, we were hoping to try the Sacher torte here but unfortunately as it was later in the day, they had run out. The cake we did get was still wonderful though and we enjoyed our coffee as well!( I got the Cafe Melange) Would definitely go here to get the coffeehouse experience! But keep in mind that you seat yourself, people can be aggressive about seats lol

Went here to have breakfast @1000 this place is quite and has an ok view of the river . The food came right away and was really good. We had the egg with bacon which was amazing and also eggs with sausage which was great after I put some salt and pepper . Would recommend this place for breakfast . They have an English menu

This is a charming (and upscale) cafe well situated next to the river. We went in mid-April, still early for tourist invasion, so we found the cafe quiet and half empty (their outdoor seating wasn't even open due to rain and cold weather). Nonetheless, the indoor ambience was cozy, especially after coming down from the Hohensalzburg Fortress in chilly wind. Now the coffee... I ordered a cappuccino with sachertorte (I forgot what hubby ordered, but it was delicious). My drink was rich and smooth, I especially liked the attention to detail - from the texture of the froth to the floating cream to the cup's placement when it was served. This is a place where you can sit for a long time without having to worry about overstaying your welcome. Next time we visit, we'll have to try their breakfast.

This is a quaint cafe that is located right next to the river. We arrived around 10:45 a.m. and the cafe was very busy. We were able to sit down right away. The service was wonderful and the food was delightful! I had the Bazar Classic from the breakfast menu and it was outstanding. It included three different breads, freshly sliced ham, the best Swiss cheese I've ever had and Brie. It was also served with butter, jam, a cream cheese chive spread and fresh squeezed orange juice. I also ordered a glass of Prosecco and made a mimosa with my OJ. It was all wonderful. My husband had a dish that was scrambled eggs with fried sausage and cheese. It was equally as wonderful! All of that and a bottle of water was $29 euros, so also very affordable!

This is one of the most traditional Austrian coffee houses. Long before people got to sit at a Starbucks or a trendy hipster coffee shops, Austrians had their coffee houses, where they would sit, read the paper and enjoy a good cup of coffee with a slice of cake. This is a very traditional place, where the servers are top notch. As a matter of fact, Vienna (the capital of Austria) was not the first city in history with a coffee house. Café Bazar is located by the river Salzach and it's THE typical Austrian coffeehouse. When the weather is nice you can sit outside and enjoy the gorgeous view. It's one of my favorite coffee houses in Salzburg. They make amazing topfstrudel (ask to have it the traditional way with vanilla sauce), and great cakes in general. Just go check them out in the back before you sit down and order your coffee, this is a great place to hang out with friends, and no problem if you want to sit there for hours, no one is going to rush you out.

Cafe Habakuk - The Strudel was divine!

First morning in Salzburg and we were looking for our first breakfast kind of like home. We walked…read morepast Habakuk and caught a glimpse of the Strudel in the window, and all thoughts of bacon and eggs were out the window! We walked in and were very warmly greeted, and sat right across from the glass cases that showcased their wares. Given two menus in German, we figured it out pretty quick. They had a NY breakfast and one below that outlined eggs, ham, cheese and bread, bingo, two orders of those please and water. Our utensils and napkins were brought on a white plate along with salt and pepper, as well as a silver plate holding our waters, which was a great touch. The interior is very classy, old school elegance, and the servers were the same, nicely dressed very polite and helpful. Our food arrived quickly, hot and abundant, not exactly bacon and eggs, but very good. We were not asked how we wanted our eggs cooked,, so what you see is what you get. My eggs were a little overcooked for my taste, but the lovely K got some yolk run. There was a very good amount of food for the price and it all worked well together. We had the chance to chat with our server who spoke very good English, as it seems most of the people we have come across in our two weeks on the Continent do. We had to go back the next afternoon to try the Strudel of course. We were recognized right away, and the place was quite a bit busier so we walked up the stairs and were sat in the main dining area. The Strudel was quite delicious, and once again abundant and swimming in warm custard, which I wasn't sure of, but man it was good. Also added a Stiegel beer which is brewed right here in Salzburg for over 500 years. Cafe Habakuk is a bit of a throwback to simpler times when good service and great food, at fair prices was the norm rather than the exception and we couldn't be happier. Our next trip back to Salzburg we will most certainly be back!

My friend and I were wandering around the area trying to choose a cafe. We stumbled upon this one,…read morewhich had such enticing apple strudel and cookies on their display windows. We decided to walk inside on a mission to try said apple strudel and were greeted by kind staff. We took a seat and had THE loveliest waiter. I got the apple strudel with custard, but you get the option of either whipped cream, custard, or icecream I believe. My friend got the ham & cheese sandwich with a side salad. Long story short, the apple strudel was DIVINE. The entire dessert just feels homey and hits all the right spots. The sandwich was really good too. The bread was quite buttery and crispy. The salad had thousand island dressing. So so good!
