It was a travel day for me and Gayle starting in Venice, connecting through Verona, and continuing up to Bolzano/Bozen via a slow all 2nd Class Train. The scenery was pretty, and watching hordes of school kids move on an off the train helped pass the time. However, there was no food or snack service and we had neglected to pack anything except water.
After arriving at Bolzano/Bozen, we were hungry, but at the same time anxious to find the Bus Station and continue on to our final destination (Castelrotto/Kastelruth). The practical upshot was that a snack bar was the preferred choice over a pleasant and leisurely late lunch in a fine local establishment. Hence, this Cafe Express at the Train Station would have to do.
We both had warm panini sandwiches and shared a beer. And for the next part of our journey, or at least until we had a chance to experience South Tyrol dining, "Dayenu". read more
