We got a little bit of everything which included a caramel macaroon, chocolate du pain, kouign amann, and the famous mille feuille! All were perfectly executed and tasted amazing. The macaroon had the perfect egg like shell with a chewy center, not to mention the caramel was caramelized to perfection and so buttery. The chocolate du pain is so common in France, in yet, Grain de Vanille still excelled. Perfect layers and the chocolate was still warm from the oven. Mmm. Lastly the Mille feuile! This is the real reason I wanted to go here is to try this pastry full of layers and pastry cream. Big, buttery scallops, perfectly cooked, with the most delicious veggies on the side. This was one of the best dishes I've eaten anywhere in France. We had a carafe of decent enough white wine to accompany our food, and finished off with a chocolate fondant, which was good but was seriously outshone by the main dish. If you can come to Picorette make sure you do. Book in advance, and be prepared for Paris prices. It is quite expensive for Granville, but good for the quality and portions. They also advertise/serve real Jersey cream tea and they have a deal where you can have a slice of fruit cake, two scones, cream, jam, and tea for 4.95. They also have freshly baked cakes such as fudge cake and carrot cake that are really tasty. There are also public washrooms beside this cafe and the service is pretty good, attentive and nice staff.
