    Cheese Pies - excellent flavor
    Xhana N.

Met a friend today at Cafe Du Liban and had a lovely lunch! I arrived first and was welcomed and allowed to wait at a table. I let the staff know that I was meeting someone and wanted to take a look at the menu. I was given a printed menu to review while I waited. When my friend arrived, we both decided to get the Falafel Salad. Well...we should have gotten one to share because the portion was very generous. I took a lot home with me! Both of us really enjoyed the salads. We also shared an order of Cheese Pies, which were absolutely delicious. At the end of the meal, we were given complementary baklava, which was so lovely and appreciated. While we were there, I noticed several people picking up to go orders, so great to know that take out is an option. This was my first time visiting the restaurant, and I look forward to returning again to try additional items on the menu. The kabobs looked absolutely amazing and will probably be next on the list to try.

    Hummus was wonderful

I was holiday shopping and did not realize that I did not eat. How lucky I was. I saw Cafe Du Liban from across the parking lot. The second line in their sign says simply Mediterranean, so I knew I was in for something very tasty and healthy at the same time. They have a really good menu board. I had a gyro which was really good. The meat was ground and processed but the over all taste and freshness was excellent. I was hoping for chunks of grilled meat like from a kabob. I ordered a side of hummus. The gyro came carefully wrapped, keeping it together so it didn't fall apart before I finished. The staff here are really friendly and offered me pita or lavash for the wrap. How nice. Will try lavash next time. The hummus was spectacular. Just eat the warm pita before it goes cold because it gets a little stiff. I will definitely come back.

This place is so unassuming, but super cute on the inside. I ordered a chicken salad for takeout and it was absolutely delicious. I also got a side of pickles and turnips - it was such a healthy portion! The chicken on the salad was super yummy! Not boring at all and the portion was nice. The dressing was delicate, not too oily and had great flavor. The pickles and turnips were so crunchy and delicious. Overall, the ingredients tasted so fresh and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal! The gentleman who helped me with my order when I arrived was very friendly and happy to assist me. I had always heard Cafe Du Liban was good, and now I know it's true! I will definitely be back!

I stated of with the house salad and let me tell you!! Mouthwatering this salad didn't test like a normal salad so much flavor in it! Then went to the chicken and beef kebab beef 100% hands down was amazing chicken right there with it. It had so much juice to it customer service was incredible. Parking it's OK if it was busy because the shopping center is here it's harder to park. The environment was calm. Just because we did go early in the morning right when they opened. But if you do go here, make sure you bring a jacket or a sweater because it is freezing cold.

Authentic Mediterranean cuisine at the heart of Tarzana. The kababs (chicken & beef) were juicy and freshly grilled. The humus and baba ghanosh were creamy. Service had a friendly and accommodating ambiance. To top it off - it's price friendly!

Ordered from Cafe Du Liban, the food was flavorful, each plate came with appetizing rice, hummus, pickles, turnips, and bread. Each combination plate was appetizing. The service was prompt and kept warm. I didn't observe the ambiance since this was a delivery.

My friend and I were looking for a delicious Mediterranean option in the area and decided to try Cafe Du Liban. A "Good Food Quickly" dining establishment located in a busy strip mall section off Ventura, Cafe Du Liban is a hidden gem in Tarzana, serving up amazing cuisine for 20 years. The entrance is fairly nondescript, but once you enter, you immediately see the open kitchen, order counter, and about a dozen tables and booths for diners to enjoy this elevated (but relaxed) casual cuisine. The staff were extremely friendly and answered a few questions we had about the menu items, specifically the Chicken sandwiches which offered wrap options of Pita and Laffa breads. He explained that he prefers the Pita Bread option as the Laffa is a bit thinner and actually priced $5 more. We each decided to take his recommendation and also ordered some vegetarian Cheese Pies as a starter. Also, check in through Yelp and you will receive 20% off your order! A nice perk. We sat down and waited about 10 minutes for the freshly made Cheese Pies to arrive. These came out piping hot, and actually forced us to wait for the temperature to cool off, or else risk burning the inside of your mouth. These were definitely worth the wait and avoiding the risk of "top of mouth burn." Served five to an order ($10), the filo dough is wonderfully crispy and soft once you hit that gooey blended cheese center. Absolutely delicious and a great appetizer to share. A few moments later, our Chicken Sandwiches ($12) arrived. The Chicken sandwiches were a pretty good size, filled with grilled chicken, tomatoes, pickles, and a very robust garlic sauce, wrapped in a delicious pita bread. The filling-to-bite ratio was spot on, with great sweet, garlic and savory bites a-plenty. The person who took our order, along with a fellow staff member, checked in on us a few times to make sure everything was satisfactory, which I thought showed great attention and care about making the experience match the amazing homemade flavor of the food. The bathrooms were also very clean and well-stocked. Parking is free out front, with plenty of availability, even during the lunchtime rush. I would highly recommend Cafe Du Liban and agree with a lot of the 5-star ratings here. It's always amazing to find delicious homemade Lebanese cuisine anywhere in Southern California, but to also have wonderful service, an inviting atmosphere, a friendly staff and very comparable pricing is truly something special. Cafe Du Liban is one of the best at encompassing all of these qualities and I will continue to support and share with others.

    Is there hookah?

Sorry, I don't have tobacco license.

Do you still make pizzas? If not please bring it back, it was amazing!

Kat, your kind words about our pizza mean a lot. Regrettably, pizza sales weren't sustainable. Would you consider trying our tasty kabobs? We offer enticing buy one get one free deals on Persian kabob plates.

Is any of your meat halal at this time? I know someone asked the same question about 2 years ago but I was curious if anything has changed. Thank you.

Good morning Noor! Sorry, I don’t have any Halal meat at this time.

    Is the meat halal?

The only halal meat option we have is the soujouk as this time. We usually have our shawarma meat halal as well but the market is limited at this time.

The ribeye arais was the standout--crispy, toasted pita on the outside with insanely juicy, well-seasoned ribeye packed inside. Every bite had that perfect balance of crunch and richness, and it didn't need much sauce, but the dips on the side took it up another level. The lamb arais was just as impressive--slightly more gamey (in a good way), super tender, and loaded with spices that gave it a deep, savory kick. You can tell they're not holding back on quality or flavor here. The sides tied everything together--the fresh tomato salad cut through the richness, and the pickles and sauces added that extra punch to keep every bite interesting. Overall, this spot is all about simple food done really right--crispy, juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. Definitely a must if you're craving something hearty and different.

It gets its name and style of cooking simple Israeli food, from the famous market, of the same name, in Jerusalem. Important to note that Arais (Arayes), is actually a street food. Essentially, a homemade small triangular pita, stuffed with succulent meat, then freshly baked on a continuous rotating large plate, at the center of a gas fire clay oven called the "taboon". The menu here is very basic, but high in quality, ingredients and freshness. There are also other offerings. The owner is charming and most welcoming to all the patrons. Yes, there is love and affection. He has personality, that you hardly ever see in any restaurant. Providing complimentary tastings of his items, while you wait for their preparation and production, to go. In my case, small portions of the warm garbanzo beans with freshly made (silky and smooth) hummus, then pickles and onions, also with dipping. Both fantastic. If you do not get Arias when you are here, you are missing the point, or maybe in the wrong place. My choice was Lamb Arias, to go. 4 crisp and charred triangular pieces fresh off the taboon, accompanied with regular and green tahini sauces, and a small, unimpressive tomato onion salad ($26). The lamb meat was juicy, well seasoned and cooked perfect. Also, as a side, I added the Potatoes "Medura" ($7). This was truly amazing. Thick longitudinal wedges, well browned on the outside and soft on the inside. Overall, an unforgettable experience. Excellent service, fantastic food, and an unforgettable warm and comfortable experience.

It is one place that always puts me in a conundrum, because there is so much here to order. Since about 6 months, they've been opening at 9 am, with an additional spread of breakfast selections. Yes, you can get the Israeli breakfast, as well a selection of numerous salads, if you are looking for something unique. Kind of a small tasting menu, if you will. I came here for lunch, to order my favorites. You have to start with small bites and I always gravitate towards the falafel. It comes with eight fresh and perfectly deep fried balls that are optimally crisped (and crunchy) on the outside, with a soft tasty green filling on the inside. That, with the accompanying tahini sauce, takes you to another place. Always consistent. Hard to come here without making a choice from the butchers section. I go for the middle eastern kabob (this time one skewer) that arrived just after it was grilled with good char, nice coloring, succulent and exploding with fragrance and taste. Each bite allowed you to taste the moist meat and its spices. For my sides, the mashed potatoes (with onions) had wonderful texture and mouthfeel. For the second side, my choice was the house hummus, good body, silky feel and a thick wholesome and smooth blend of its ingredients. It lubricates your tongue. That, when scooped up with pieces of fresh Laffa bread, really hits the spot. Service was attentive, thoughtful and informative. Need to come back often, to try more from the menu. IMHO, this could easily be the best Israeli restaurant in the Valley and to think of it, even in the Los Angeles area.

So many of our guests complained. * When we were making the reservation, the manager told us that one side occupied 20 people and they crammed 24. Even with 20, the table space was way to small and we felt like sardines. Our mom uses a wheelchair and we had to move her out of the way in order to get up from the table to use the restroom. * We requested a separate small table to place our cake. They complained that we were taking up to much space and that we would have to move the cake to the area where we were seated. They provided a cart they used in the kitchen that was too small to place the cake. We had to clear off space in front of my wife for the cake. It's awkward to talk with people with a giant cake in front of you. * They told us we have to cut the cake ourselves after been told that they charged 3.00/cake slice. I understand the extra charge, but then they got snotty about it and told us to cut it ourselves. * The slide show that was provided to us was so small on the tv and we could not even hear it. * They forgot the egg plant, pita breads, and entrée's. We had to pester them even to get our food. We only had a couple hours reserved and they took an hour to get us all the food. In the end we had 10 minutes to inhale cake before they came over and complained that we took to long. Really? I think they have it backwards. The only thing that took a long time was the restaurant staff. Many of the guest asked us if they were bringing any additional food out. * We informed them that we had not started to eat until an hour after the reservation. We wanted to get an hour extended but they said we had to leave at the reserved time. It gave us no time to talk to each other and the manager was getting aggravated. It was not a friendly atmosphere for the type of party the restaurant said we can have. I had to call Shirin in order to get an itemized receipt and that was a hassle as well. All the arrangements had been discussed and approved with the manager at this restaurant. You only turn 60 once and we were looking forward to celebrating my wife's birthday. We spend $1349.00 at the restaurant. The only reason we accepted this location was because they approved all of our decorations and seating. Clearly, this place cannot handle a party.
