The experience at this bar was simply horrible.
I had the misfortune to drink a beer at this place on Wednesday 28th with a friend, during a trip to Amsterdam. We were exhausted and seeking refugee from the rain, and while walking in the Red Light District we ended uo in front of this bar. We had no expectations, we just wanted to have a nice talk over a beer at the table, while resting a tiny bit.
As soon as we entered, we noticed something was wrong: even though the bar was EMPTY (deservingly, I must say), nobody greeted us. The woman at the bar counter was chitchatting with the only 4 clients she had up to that moment, and did nothing neither to welcome us nor to show us the menu or where we could sit.
This way, confused, we simply took a table and waited to be served, until FIVE MINUTES LATER, in an annoyed way, she reached us telling us these same exact words:
"What are you waiting for girls? You are supposed to come to the counter to order, I'm not here to serve at the tables. You know, it gets busy and I can't follow you: you see how many clients I have?"
And I would like to reiterate she only had FOUR CLIENTS SITTING AT THE COUNTER.
After this small, unpleasant talk, she asked us to place our order at the counter, even though she already was at our table. We follow the instructions and finally ordered the beer, only after she finally showed us the menu, which only contained a choice of only 9 commercial beers.
Even though we were quite pissed at her attituted, we pretended that nothing happened and simply enjoyed our pint in the attempt to rest.
After not even 30 minutes, the woman came at our table and brought away our glasses, without asking us the permission to nor asking us any question related to the context: she simply emptied our table in a rush and abrupt way.
Soon after, she reached our table again to please us with her usual kindness and politeness to tell us:
"Do you want to order anything else or what? If not just leave the table because other clients want to sit down and you are occupying space for nothing."
Exactly. We were threatened to leave the bar.
And then again, THE BAR WAS EMPTY.
Just two other clients occupying a second table had come by the time she told us to leave, and the other tables were all empty. ALL OF THEM.
I don't know if the woman was a simple waitress or the owner of the bar, but her rudeness and disgusting and vile attitude are hard both to handle and forget.
Not to mention she didn't even fake a goodbye once she left: the only one who greeted us before leaving was one of the 6 clients in the bar.
Well, all considered I'm not surprised if limited are the client in this low-quality bar. read more
