The menu is quite similar to most modern cafes, offering a range of sandwiches/burgers/wraps, as well as pizzas, pastas and salads. I recommend the Smoked Salmon pizza, an alternate take on the gourmet pizza, or the fried calamari, some of the freshest I have tasted in Brisbane. Prices range from $15-$25 for a main meal. The coffee has always been good. As experienced coffee drinkers understand, it's always handy knowing where you can find a good coffee. The baristas at Caffe Primavera certainly make a great coffee, using Merlo as their supplier. Always a good temperature, and never burnt; exactly what you want out of a coffee.

We are on a major road but the building is set back and there's some trees to shelter the outdoor area. On the cold and miserable day I visited they had a morning (7:30-9:30am) special of Cheese Toasties for $2.50! Both a bargain and totally appropriate for the weather. The staff were very friendly, patient and I saw staff coming from behind the bar to help people who had difficulty moving or carrying. The kitchen closes at 3pm and the whole cafe at 3:30pm. This was a very friendly little cafe and if I'm in the building again I will definitely be back.

Another time, I had long finished my coffee and had to go back inside and ask where my food was. I then saw it being whipped up. Finally the last time I finally got to the front of the line (more behind me) and the woman decided it was time for her to start making coffees. Part coffee shop part vintage collectable paradise this sweet little spot emits a lovely glow of vintage charm. And while the coffee is a bit average the food ain't half bad. I recommend scrutinizing their delizioso toasties (Mozzarella and prosciutto omnomnom.) and the veritable selection of cake and cookies. The place gets understandably packed for breakfasts but is well worth a visit when out and about in Annerley.

It's a busy cafe, on a busy stretch of road, so you can expect it to be noisy. The coffee is creamy and strong. The food is worth a mention- try one of their sandwiches. They're yum, and very affordable. I probably come here more for the food than the coffee to be honest (nothing beats a good sanga). Go sit down at long table that runs down the middle of the space, or sit in the window and people watch, or...car watch, as it does look out onto bustling Ipswich Road. The collectables are cute, but I always get the feeling they are more ornamental, an actual part of the shop, rather than goods to be sold. Maybe you'll feel differently and find yourself a nice treat to take home with you. The choice is yours.

And so, following a conversation with this friend, off I went to taste the brew being poured at this Norman Park cafe. I arrived at around 11 and there were a few customers about - two women who I'm guessing had just finished a flex yoga class next door, two mothers catching up and general cafe goers. It was a calm atmosphere even with the air-con technicians attending to the cafe's unit. The space itself is light and breezy. My latte is solid. It's not distinctly any particular blend but it's just a darn good coffee. My friend was right. I also ordered the smashed avocado on sourdough. The bread was fresh and soft - easy to eat delicately and I liked that the avocado came separate to the toast so I could put as little or as much on as I liked. I imagine that locals are loving having this kind of cafe in their hood. And while I won't necessarily drive here specifically for coffee again, if I find myself in this area, I know I have a solid option up my sleeve for a strong coffee.

If you're still looking for bacon and eggs, try the BRAT (order extra sagnaki though!) which is the best breakfast sandwich in Brisbane. The coffee is some of the best in Brisbane but by god the most reliable any day of the week. It wins huge points with me for serving filter coffee with a proper breakfast menu too.

The seating area is intimate with vibrant blue walls displaying a local artists work and view of the street. I had a very relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable meal.
