Cardamom roll
Todd P.

We were looking for a new place to try in Fountain Hills and based on reviews, we had lunch here. It was a great move. From the time we walked in, the people were friendly and helpful. We had a chicken cheddar quiche, a turkey bacon Swiss hoagie and split a cardamom roll for dessert. The quiche was delicious, but the crust was the star. Interestingly, the sandwiches come without any dressing. Instead, they have a bliss bar where there's probably around 20 different sauces and condiments you can add to any sandwich or salad or quiche for that matter. A great idea! Added onions, pepperoncini, olives, and lettuce to the hoagie. And also extra olives to the side salad that came with the quiche. This is our first time here, but it won't be our last.

Swedish Princess cake made by the very talented Malin.

Not many bakers here in the valley are familiar with or make Swedish Princess Cakes. Cafe Bliss does, thanks to talented Malin. I ordered a natural-colored one. They normally are green (have seen done as pink as well). This is one of the best ones we have ever had. Their prices are on the higher end, but the quality is there. And their Swedish coffee is very smooth and enjoyable.

An early morning visit, just after their opening.

My first impression as a walk-in new customer to this café = clean and cheerful! Said hello to the friendly owner (Malin) on my second visit, and learned this is a family-operated business, which is a huge plus for my spending loyalty. The good stuff: So much deliciousness available, all goods are made on-premise by Malin and staff. There are pre-made luncheon sandwiches available, on either hoagie or ciabatta bread. Salads are served as well. Their varieties of quiche (served with small salad or fruit) are appealing, my wife tried the spinach feta quiche and really enjoyed that. Most amazing are their fresh baked goods, featuring multiple Swedish/Scandinavian delights such as cardamom buns, chocolate balls, coffee cake slices, cookies, cakes, cheesecake, pies, cupcakes, and more! Their coffee (Swedish dark roast or American medium roast) is absolutely good, very fresh and tasty. I've not tried any of their their breakfast sandwiches yet. There is even a breakfast "Bliss Burrito" which I will try on an upcoming visit. I would absolutely recommend Café Bliss to those who value great quality and friendly service from a small business.

Good food, pleasant staff. You order at counter then pick it up. Outside is nice when weather is cool enough.

Saddle Bronc has a fantastic menu with so many delicious items to choose from, along with an impressive selection of beers on tap. You can really taste the quality and the family recipes behind each dish. I had the broasted chicken, and it came out piping hot, perfectly crispy, and incredibly juicy. I also can't say enough about the ranch beans and homemade coleslaw--they were absolutely delicious! My friends ordered the daily prime rib special and the chicken sandwich, and they loved their meals too. Overall, Saddle Bronc is everything you hope for in a small-town, family-owned restaurant. If you're looking for great comfort food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere, this place is a must-visit!

Happy hours may exist here, just have not found that to be common or much of a deal. If money doesn't matter, the bar is a cool and comforting place to meet locals and visitors. You may just need to move to another seat to find people that like words like I do. That is true of most places though. Good place to stare at your phone instead of doing it at home. Just costs a lot more than the latter. Which J do instead of going here. Honest here, have no problems. But if you want an enjoyable experience there are other options in Fountain Hills worth a try.

There was a little confusion at the beginning once we realized we were just looking at the tapas and happy hour menu but then realized there was a dinner menu as well that we hadn't looked at yet. Eventually, we were able to decide what we wanted to order. Great chips and salsa. I also ordered Their coconut mojito. So so good! For dinner I ordered their cubano. This is a popular food item. I would have loved for the bread be a little more crispy, however, still a very yummy cubano.

It's the kind of locally owned place that has a lot of character. Our waiter recommended the avocado dip and chips, which ended up being one of the best things we ordered. The portion was generous, fresh, and perfect for sharing. We also split the $19 bread board, which is similar to Postino's concept with four breads and different toppings. The hummus was easily our favorite, followed by the BLT. Unfortunately, the salmon and caper spread had a strong odor and tasted off, so none of us enjoyed it. The drinks were good--our friends enjoyed a coconut cocktail while we opted for wine. Overall, I'd give Sofritas 3/5 stars. The atmosphere, drinks, and avocado dip were enjoyable, but the bread board was hit-or-miss for our group.
