Modern Aussie Cuisine with great coffee by day, and apparently a good thai restaurant by night…read more We visited the 'polished' and very 'modern' feeling and looking place twice in two days whilst in the KV. First time for tea and coffee and the second, the next day for lunch. Both occasions left us feeling happy and satisfied with our food and service. So - the tea and coffee. Important to note that we hate paying 3.50 for a bag of tea in a mug with hot water, so it was really nice to have a personal POT of with good quality loose leaf tea in it. The little things count for us, so when the tea came out with come water too (in case you want to cool down the HOT water), we found that to be a nice touch. You will see from the uploaded pics, that this place boasts to have the 'the best coffee'... Now for a Sydney sider that drinks great coffee every day, I would say I was surprised to have such a great coffee in the KV. I had another the next day too. The food was also good. Standard menu with good all round food, but certainly not gourmet by any means. Good place overall, at the right price with a clean fit out and friendly staff!! Looking forward to trying the thai!

The menu does not change…read moredaily, but they have some nice standards and the interior has been lovingly updated to reflect the heritage nature of this place (the original Post Office in the little village of Moss Vale). The new owners as of 2017 spent time to really highlight the history and it shows. From their website: Built in the late 1800s, the Post Office, located right next to the famous Moss Vale train line, linking Sydney to the Southern Highlands, was the main official building of this small town. It played a vital role as it delivered mail to its inhabitants as well as provided constant communication between the city and the area to visiting governors. It stayed as a Post Office for over 100 years. In the 1990 it began morphing into offices, a bank and 20 years later, cafes. In March 2017 restorations began to bring back to life, and back to the 21st Century, this beautiful heritage listed building. It is situated right in the midst of Moss Vale, which is no longer a little sleepy, country town but, a vibrant place to be with now, an array of boutiques, restaurants, shops & an easy train ride up to Sydney (or down to Melbourne). See their website for details: https://www.thepostofficemossvale.com.au/menus

Quaint wee Cafe & bakery on the way into Picton. It's beautiful country and a great spot to stop,…read moresit down and listen to nature. With the echo of cars. But when the cars stop the bell birds come through loud and clear and you soak up the sun shine in joy. There's a huge parking lot to the right of the estate, easy to find a spot. There's a small kids park/playground with a swing set up. You'll find this place sort of a throw back as the guys that run this place are living true to olden day times. No modern doodads and the ladies have super long locks as they don't cut their hair with their cotton clothes. They make the bread on sight, the eggs are laid by the cluck clucks out the back so my toast and eggs were divine. The coffee is actually surprisingly good! They have small cups and big mugs for those of us that need a super hit to keep driving instead of curling up under a tree in the sunshine. There's oaken tables inside and seating outside under umbrellas out the front and a cosy outside area out the back too covered in trellis flowers and seating. There's small items that are all handmade for sale inside that I'll be going to check out soon. So if you're in the area or want to do a day trip, this is a beautiful country road drive out here with fresh air and wildlife to listen to. The cars are a watching point too. As are the bikes on good days. Lovely day trip if you want a day out.

I visited this place a week after the other so it was still vivid and fresh in my mind. They are different places ran by the same people. Even the menu items are different. But as with the Yellow Deli, the food was amazing and worth the wait. Next time I think I'll try the Ruben Sandwich that they are known for. The green drink is also done right and it was my first time having it. Will be back here again and tell all my friends about it. They also are priced quite reasonable compare to most places these days. Their pies are amazing too, don't usually go for dessert but no skipping that here.

Our food honours the land it comes from, the hands that grew it, and the people who gather to share it. By night, the fire takes over. Flames crackle, smoke curls, and stories unfold through each dish. We create immersive, open-fire dining experiences that awaken the senses — showcasing native ingredients, seasonal produce, and the raw beauty of cooking over embers. No shortcuts. No pretence. Just food with integrity, served with ceremony. We’re not just here to serve meals. We’re building a movement — one that champions small-scale farming, sustainable practices, creative expression, and soulful hospitality. Our general store reflects this ethos too: a curated extension of our kitchen filled with pantry staples, artisanal goods, and fire-forged flavours to take home. Every choice we make — from the timber we burn to the sea salt we sprinkle — is deliberate. Local. Ethical. Thoughtful. At Earth Walker, we believe food should be felt, not just tasted. It should nourish the body, stir the imagination, and connect us to something ancient yet new. We’re here to create a global-standard experience with deep local roots where rustic meets refined, and every guest leaves inspired.
