Each guest must order at least one drink. We got two coffee drinks and they were okay. Not the best, but passable. For food, we got the Shrimp Roe Noodles with Pork. It was pretty tasty and I enjoyed it.

The view is absolutely the best part - you sit right on the water looking at the mountains. Each person is required to order at least a drink. I had a ginger soda that was some sugar syrup, chunks of ginger and basil. Tasty. We also had the shrimp pork ramen - it's fine but not special. What did look special was what another table was eating - apparently there is a separate menu if you order ahead. If you can figure out how to do that, it seems worth. Otherwise I probably would have used the calories elsewhere during our visit to Hong Kong.

Don't underestimate Mong Kok as an old district with few chic restaurants, the area around Hak Po…read more(Black Cloth) Street is actually developing and flourishing very well in the recent years into a food street, especially focusing on desserts, providing a much wider choice than the typical Mong Kong Cha Chan Tangs. I've already introduced HeSheEat in my previous article, and Ocio is another nicely done café in that hood. Focusing on waffles and crepes, this place provides BOTH sweet and savoury topping choices to both. The shop is quite small and its not easy to find a seat. Luckily this café actually has 2 shops across a short distance, so if you can't find a place in one, try looking in the other. The portion for waffle dishes are kind of huge so, sharing is recommended. On the other hand, the crepes are less gigantic and any girl can easily handle one dish. Besides the signature waffles and crepes, they also offers a variety of drinks, ad their smoothies are quite nicely done. I also like to try their other dessert options, such as the one in photo with raspberry ice cream on mango ice, fitted with rose-flavoured carbonated water below, a lighter choice than the waffles or crepes but equally satisfying!

Some say that it's hard to find real friends in university. They say that most people you meet in…read moreuniversity are just hi-bye friends instead of life-long ones. Some of my friends also complain that they always unfortunately encountered the problem of having "free-riders", who don't contribute much but take benefits - the shared grade, in group projects. Comparatively speaking, I'm rather lucky. I haven't experienced such issue, and of course I hope I won't have any! My groupmates are quite responsible - even though most of us are deadline fighters... Working on the little research project together for 2-3 months, four of us gradually became good friends who share everything in our whatsapp group. After settling down all the final assignments, it's time for gathering! We reserved a table in Ocio to have dinner at 7:30pm. It was quite easy to get there - just to walk along Dundas Street. After passing Ho King Commercial Centre and reaching Kwong Wa Street, you'll see the name of the restaurant on a brown board on the opposite side. Knowing the all-day breakfast was a signature dish in Ocio, all of us ordered the Ocio Special which includes garden salad, baked beans, German sausage, chicken breast, smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, potato wedges, etc. When it was served, we were amazed by the size of the whole dish! All the ingredients were plenty for our large appetite after a day's work! I particularly loved the scrambled eggs as they were really creamy and smooth in texture! The German sausage was cooked with herbs and it tasted fantastic! The grilled tomato and salad helped maintain the balance with the meat. The potato wedges were delicious as well. They weren't very crispy, but I was okay with them. The generous portion of the all-day breakfast made us 80% full, but we still have some room for desserts - waffles! We ordered the Parisian, the 4-layer waffles with two scoops of ice cream. Two layers were original waffles and the other two were chocolate ones. I loved eating the original waffle with caramel. The chocolate one was lovely as well! The combination of the hot (waffles) and the cold (the ice cream) was awesome. Sharing the Parisian together was enough for four of us, and it's much cheaper than buying it one by one! Apart from the enjoying food, we've chatted about a multitude of topics in a relaxing way. Luckily there weren't many people in the restaurant and we could chat till 10pm!

I had seen this place before but I had never fancied it. It's a small coffee shop, located in one of the most popular areas of the Island right now. From outside it looks like a mix of a garage and a café. In fact, it may have been a garage once, since the door is a sliding heavy one. We went in and ordered a couple of teas. They also have some simple food on the menu (sandwich, soup, pasta and cake). Most of it and most of the orders that day seemed to be just coffees or teas from what I could see. The tea was average, serve in a funny cup. To me it was just another café, with a lot of potential, but not really making the most of its location. Inside it's small but a big chunk of the space is taken by a bar that it...way too high, you can barely see over the counter which makes it weird, for such a tiny space. And decoration wise there are some really cool things but others don't seem to have taken care of. As my sister is an artist we started to list things that we would do to that place to make it look as cool as possible and we came up with a few! Anyway, the rain was over and we were feeling hungry, so we headed out to Soho for dinner...

The beef brisket noodles here is buttery soft and served with real savory soup that you can drink instead of the usual soy sauce water with MSG. The noodles are possibly handmade in the shop because it is neither al dente nor soggy. It is very springy in the mouth. It is ridiculously cheap, only 38HKD for the beef brisket noodle with a drink (hot milk tea, cold milk tea, or honey lemon). Atmosphere (*** out of *****); Typical Spartan Hong Kong mom and pop restaurant. What sets it apart is that this place is very clean. Service (*** out of *****); Typical budget Hong Kong restaurant service with only one waitress for an entire restaurant serving 14 or more people. Bless her heart, this place can get really packed during peak hours, but that gal still manages to get your food out quick while everything is still hot. She doesn't check on you during your meal like in a Western restaurant, though. However, the restaurant is really small, so just flag her down if you need anything. She keeps a careful watch over all her diners on her little stool in the corner by the door. Conclusion (***** out of *****); The tally is 4 stars but I added an extra star for value because it is so ridiculously cheap. The beef brisket noodle is amazing here and it is worth the commute across Hong Kong harbor to Ma On Shan for this. Bon apetit ;0) P.S. They don't speak English and have no English menus so memorize these phrases before you go, ""shong nam meen" (beef noodles), "ho fay shong nam" (with the fattiest portion of the beef), "mm goy" (thank you). Then, order your drink, "yeet nai cha" (hot milk tea), "don nai cha" (cold milk tea), or "yeet lin mut" (hot honey lemon). P.P.S. At first I thought that there is only one waitress here, but actually, there's two waitresses. They're twin sisters. That's why the service is so fast, even though the restaurant is always packed. However, there's never a line, though. Also, the sisters are very customer service oriented and accommodating. I had a bunch of shopping bags and didn't want to set them on the floor, so she gave me an extra chair and helped me prop up my bags against the wall on the chair. The father cooks in the back and his two twin daughters work the front. Very sweet ladies. Very tasty beef brisket. Be sure to try the daikon in beef brisket soup, too. Very soft and flavorful.
