There are so many things I like about Run Rabbit Run, and the first is that they have an all day…read morebreakfast menu on weekends. WINNER! I can also have a single origin coffee! And a delicious smoothie! And everything is so cute including the music and the waitstaff and yes this is a hipster cafe and I am in my hipster ELEMENT. The coffee is great, the banana and honey smoothie is great, and the meal is one of the best takes on avocado and toast that I've ever eaten. The food comes out relatively quickly, though it does take the staff a little while to realise I want to eat food as well as drink coffee (otherwise I'd be slapping five stars on this review). Despite it being a deliciously hipsterly decked-out cafe, I note that the demographics of the other patrons on a Saturday morning are all over the place. It's excellent, because the owners and staff of Run Rabbit Run are doing exactly what they want to do, and in this small town people aren't scared off by feeling like only a particular demographic is allowed to patron a place. Coming from Brisbane, and spending a fair amount of time in Melbourne, I certainly have noticed these demographic-owned places in both those cities. Heck, it even happens a little down in Hobart. It's really refreshing today to see all different types of people just chilling out, enjoying their company and their meals.

The gluten free chocolate cake makes me happy, especially with a latte. They close early (3pm) so don't be late!

Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm is the cutest little farm and restaurant! We were driving from…read moreLaunceston to Hobart and happened to spot a sign for it. The restaurant is cozy and charming, with a little fireplace adding to the atmosphere. We sat by the window and enjoyed a lovely view of the lake. After our meal, we took a short walk along the lake trail and peeked at the raspberry fields. October is not the season for raspberries, so none yet! The menu creatively incorporates raspberries into many dishes. I ordered their special, a pumpkin and spinach arancini served with a fresh salad. It came with two unique dips -- a strawberry chili and a cashew aioli. The combination may sound unusual, but it was absolutely scrumptious! Since my dish didn't have their famous raspberries, I ordered a raspberry latte instead. Not sweet at all and had a very faint taste of raspberry. Mostly tasted the syrup when I got to the bottom and even then, not too sweet at all. After our meal, we headed over to their mini gift shop where they sold raspberry jam, raspberry ice cream, chocolate dipped raspberries, and a ton of other goodies. We ordered the raspberry ice cream and it was delicious! Quite possibly one of the best meals I had in Tasmania. Highly, highly recommended!

We were warned that they don't have a lot of seating and that if it was full that the cafe next door was also good. We managed to grab a table outside which was great as we got to enjoy the beautiful weather. The barista who had sent us here had actually jumped in the car and got her family a table... which was funny, but a sign that the food must be good. The coffee's here were great. My Cappuccino ($4) was gone before the food came out.. and since it was the second for the morning I thought I'd not push onto the third. My friend had a Soy Chai Latte ($4.50). I ordered the Eggs Benedict ($18.50) but asked to have Bacon instead of Ham (a frequent and easy request). The Eggs Benny was very good (see photo). The Poached egg was cooked just right (the yolk was only slightly set and the majority was runny). I enjoyed my meal and remembered thinking the portions of bacon were slightly more than what I would have expected. They could either drop the amount of bacon down a bit or add in a third Egg... I would say third egg because that's how I roll. The missus had the Corn Fritters ($23), which were very good. I got a bite and they were crunchy on the outside yet light on the inside. One friend had The Smashed Avocado ($19), Add Tomato ($3), Add Bacon ($4.50) and the other had the Eggs & Bacon ($15.50), Add Relish ($2), Add Mushrooms ($4.50). Fresh OJ ($6.50) was recommended by a few people and whilst I didn't get to try any... it seemed to disappear quite quickly. After complaining that there weren't any good cafe's for breakfast/brunch in Launceston I can now highly recommend coming to Charles Street and stopping in here... will be back, great food!
