Nice place to stop and have a beer while watching the world go by. So , we grabbed a table outside after work and enjoyed.

The tasting room and restaurant is well situated in a lovely setting. Sadly we weren't able to book the tour but came for lunch and the beer. Had their tripel and it was very tasty. Had the hamburger and I wasn't sure what I was going to get or even why I ordered it, but I was somehow drawn to order this hamburger. I have had plenty of good and big hamburgers but I was shocked when this monster came out with a large beef patty in the middle with cheese and sauce dripping off it and the beef patty sitting on essentially a fresh mixed vegetable salad and all housed in a very nice bun. It was a small struggle to eat but very much worth the work as this masterpiece was delicious. Local grown beef and vegetables. Easily one of my favorite hamburgers. Service was helpful navigating the menu and options. Highly recommend for both the food and beer!

The monastery has a pub on-site that not only provides a bevvy of delicious beers, made on the grounds of this fine religious institution but provides a variety of local and organically sourced meals. I had the local food sampler that was just lovely and besides beer they also make bread, butter and cheese. The beef is from local cows, managed by the institute and the chickens are from a local provider. I can only imagine whiling away an afternoon on a warm summer's day, in the large outside seating area but on a cold November day, the inside seating was just fine. I wasn't able to do the tour but if you are visiting Tilburg then try and get in a tour of the brewing facilities. Oh, and you can easily bike from Tilburg or, if I remember correctly, catch the 141 bus from the central train station. The buses seem to run about every hour so take that into account and on your way out, stop in the gift shop to pick up a few reminders of your visit. I hope to someday come back, lovely experience! :-)

Yay! I am so glad this new place opened, only a week ago. When I heard of this new place I got…read moreexcited immediately Because this a vegan brewpub! Yes! Beer and food! And it is all vegan! I have never heard of such a place before, and I guess there might not be a lot in the world. We are lucky to have it within 30-minutes driving distance. I decided not to go there on the opening weekend, because it might be busy or they might have some start-up issues. That was a wise choice: my friend told me the place was completely overcrowded the first weekend. That made me happy because it is great that people are interested in this new concept. The next weekend we went. The place is located outside the city center, in a big industrial space. It is huge because the brewing proces and the pub are both located in the same big space, which is fun because if you come early, like we did, you can see the guys brew the beers. I loved it all. The beers were good (only had a few sips though because I needed to drive), the space was cool, the people were super friendly, the prices were decent and the food....was AWESOME! Very, very tasty and nice dishes. The burger was very good, and the potatoes that came with it were also awesome. The bite I tried from the tempeh skewers were also very good. The dessert was just okay, and a bit expensive, though this did not even matter to me so much anymore because everything else was just so nice. I will definitely be back!

My hubby said fish. I thought chips. So fish and chips it was. But where? I looked at google maps and found a Brewery nearby. Nothing screams fish and chips like a brewery combined with a restaurant right? Wrong. But in a lovely surprising way. Because Oproer doesn't like the old adagio that "beer and meat" are basically each others twins, like salt 'n pepper, They'd like to change that into beer and vegan meals. Quite cool! Next to beers, they have a big variety in biological fruit drinks. I ordered a lemon/ginger lemonade and it was great. My love tried their beer and loved it. Many IPA's on the menu by the way. It's a cool place in an old industrial hall. Very rock'n'roll & vegan. We had a great appetizer, warm fresh bread with a beet dip. We read that the bread was actually made from the left overs from the brewing process. Neat! Our main was the Burgerine: a aduki bean burger topped with aubergine and a vegan mayonaise, with garlic broiled taters on the side and some salad. It was really good, loved the flavors! The waitress tried to interest us in their new desert: tiramisu with cashew instead of mascarpone and tofu! Unfortunately, it had just a wee bit of alcohol in it and I didn't dare to do that to our baby. So. We must be back. And we will. Because this is a great place and it reminds us of our "youth" hanging around in rock bars. Just the thing we like!

Within the steak you have a big variety of choices, you could say it's a 'steakhouse'. I've been here twice now, there was probably a year apart each visit. But at thing that happened twice was that when you're late-ish (8-9PM) some steak has run out. A shame really, when you're looking to eat a T-Bone or your beloved entrecôte there might be a chance there's no more left. But when you pick a dish you'll know it's amazing, it's really what you could expect from this kind of restaurant, especially in this price range. Chips are great as well. The location of the restaurant is lovely. It's situated in a brewery, hence the name. It's a big location with 3 floors. There is a DJ who plays old vinyl records. You could approach to ask him to play your favorite AC/DC ;). Staff is nice and hardworking, your foods gets there in time. When you're visiting I'd advice you to take the nacho play is starter, it's really nice and you'll get a sense of what happens in the kitchen, it's rather amazing really. I'd give 5 stars but since the steak tends to run out I'm giving 4. Tl;dr Nice location, be there in time or your favorite steak might have run out. Variety of beers. Not a must-visit but definitely worth it. There is a lot noise from others, guess that's the Dutch way. Gotta speak up. ;)

KoffieTentje is a very cute, small and stylish coffee bar. There's a very calm and laid back atmosphere making it perfect to sit in and unwind while enjoying your coffee (and perhaps a piece of brownie? Trust me, their brownies are amazing.) While ordering my coffee, I've chatted with the owner a few times and to simply put it, she's incredibly nice and welcoming. She doesn't mind having a little chat and seems genuinely interested. So if you're looking for great coffee, either for sitting in or taking it with you on your trip to work or university - KoffieTentje is the right choice!

Though I'd never say that Dutch coffee is bad, I'd maybe say that sometimes it can lack a full flavour. So to say that in the first month since opening I've darkened KoffieTenTje's door nearly a dozen times, I'm very impressed with their coffee. The interior is friendly, earthly and modern, and the music is always good (a mix of chilled electronica and folk). The vibe very much reminds me of a less busy Five Elephants (Berlin-based coffee heaven). Lastly I have to say something about the woman who owns it; basically she's lovely. Welcoming, happy, remembers you and your order. I've chatted with her a few times, sometimes in Dutch, more often in English and she's always chatty. In short; great coffee, great atmosphere, great owner.
