Someone has put a lot of money into the decor here, it feels very decadent and luxurious. You can also get charcuterie plates. The staff are very warm and friendly, even to scruffy types like myself. A real find among the overpriced Den Haag bars.

We spoke briefly with one of the owners about the shop. If you eat around Antwerp, a lot of the wines will look familiar. It turns out that Belgian Wines is their supplier. I am a strong believer in eating local, so I really like that Belgian wines are being promoted in the city. Plus they're delicious! The only thing holding me back from a full 5 stars is that there was a full table when we arrived of tourists and once they left, the two waitresses spent a good 5 minutes loudly making jokes and mocking them. I mean, the bar is not so big, so my husband and I were both a bit uncomfortable. If they make fun of them, are they going to make fun of us too when we leave? That won't stop me from returning, but will make me hesitant to stay too long in the shop.

A colleague took us here for dinner during my recent trip to the area. It was fantastic…read more The decor of the bar and restaurant is great. From the outside you expect something old similar to many of the bars in the area. Once you pass the threshold it transforms to a beautifully new and eclectic restaurant. The bar area is nice with a focus on wine with casks and chandeliers with wine bottles in them. There is a chef's table on the 2nd floor and on the 3rd floor nicely set tables with enough space in between for privacy. Glass that looks through the floor let's you see all the way back down. The dinner was exquisite. We ordered a chef's choice menu it included red fish tartar with ahi tune, a slice of beef filet that was so tender and well prepared, and final course of fish and shrimp with risotto. Dessert was ice cream and home made marshmallows with pistachio foam. Everything was fantastic. Definitely in my top ten best meals for fine dining experience.

I tried to bring my parents here for lunch however as soon as we walked through the door, the staff behind the counter didn't waste a moment of our time and informed us that there were no tables. We were disappointed but got around to doing some other shit and then by the time we were finished, figured we could go back to see if things had opened up. Fortunately, they had and we were able to snag a table easily. By this time, it was dangerously close to dinnertime and in the interest of having enough gastric space for dinner, we were light with this "snack". Both I and one of my dining companions ordered one of their soups. I don't recall much of the specifics other than the fact that it was green and delicious. Two of my other dining companions ordered the "veggie balls" which I had a chance to try, they were quite good. The veggie sushi was also ordered and received positive reviews. The inside/entrance area is really cool and they have a really impressive menu with tons of stuff. I saw some spreads/hummuses that I would have wanted to try if it weren't for the gastric space issue. I can see why it's hard to get a table!
