Good tartare, salmon risotto and ravioli. Cozy indoor dining area. Bushes surrounding patio give make the outdoor seating feel private. Very popular on Friday nights. Restaurant is very close to train station.

Quite a nice place for week end brunches. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Quality is good, scrambled eggs are not over cooked and orange juice tastes like freshly pressed. I took the "John Steed" menu + Crêpe with goat cheese and ham. Very good and I spent 40chf. Pets and children (not that these are the same) are well accepted. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There is wifi, news papers and magazines (in french) I recommend you book in advance, although if you are lucky you may be seated in a sofa with small table... Toilets are clean (at least when I went there). The booking think that is almost necessary removes a little bit of the spontaneous and relax atmosphere. I would also say that the place is a little lout, but a conversation is still possible. I hope you'll enjoy it too.

Good food, good crowd, can easily get crowded hence book a table in advance especially if coming for brunch on either Saturday or Sunday.

Best restaurant I have eaten at in Switzerland. Local, healthy, farm fresh, delicious food. Everything was amazing.

Nice atmosphere. Prices do not match the food quality.

Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Blackbird Down Town can get packed full stop, but the service, while a bit chaotic at times, moves things along and if you're wanting to skip the chaos you can just get anything to go, which I ended up doing. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Okay yes, it is most definitely overpriced. Like a lot, evidenced by my medium portion of Tikka Tikka Chicken Curry costing a staggering 15,60 CHF. That's insane even for Laussane. No Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? While expensive, this was an excellent dish. There wasn't an abundance of chicken but the veggies were so good that they blended right in. On top of that, it didn't fall into the trap of having too much sauce, and it instead blended just right with the quantity of rice. Two Stars. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back? I would. Expensive or not this is a Laussane staple really. Star.

There is space on Friday/Saturday evenings and they can easily accommodate a large group. Now, the food quality is where it gets a bit more complicated. I went there having a craving for a good meat burger - something that is a bit expensive in Switzerland but usually the meat is good. Unfortunately, after ordering a double burger with bacon and avocado, I was quite disappointed. The meat was very disappointing and frankly left me with a feeling that I was having a meat-free steak. Not great. Fries and salad were fine. Unfortunately, that did not mean that their vegetarian burgers were any better - my GF's opinion of their vegetarian option was not that they were not as amazing either.

Atmosphere 4/5: Nothing fancy or too weird. The restaurant is well located and close to the main Bus station "Saint Francois". The place itself looks like a modern ish Cafe Restaurant. Food 5/5: I was delighted both times. First time, I had a Salmon with Mashed Potatoes and I had the second time, a Hashi Parmentier which was EXCELLENT. It's one of their specialty there and it comes with a Salad for 18 CHF. Service 5/5: The staff is friendly and professional. They make sure to accomadate you to the best they can get you. The service is quiet fast if you're short on time. Last but not least, make sure to reserve your tables during Summer time on the Terrace ahead of time because they tend to be most of the time full by the time you get there even at 11am.

The food is great and if you get good service, the experience is worth it. However, you should expect to wait a while to have anyone come acknowledge you and plan to wave the waiter/waitress down a lot. I've been here for brunch on a Sunday and the food was pretty good. I went again for dinner and it was tapas style. It is a great way to taste a lot of good foods. The tartar was just ok, but the later night menu items were really good. Plan to make a reservation early enough if you can, otherwise tables are nearly impossible to get. So overall - good food and probably worth trying to get to in Lausanne...but prepare correctly!
