Cool spot and at night really has good bands and music come through. Definitely worth stopping through. Surfer vibe and staff is really friendly. Incredibly unprofessional. We were seated, ordered drinks, and then we ordered dinner. A full hour after we ordered food the waiter told us " The kitchen's in complete chaos. I can't predict when you'll get your food. You might want to leave." So after sitting there for an hour we crossed the plaza and bought our children greasy pizza for dinner. Huge disappointment. Came here 4 times in 4 days once for lunch and the rest for breakfast. The burger was good but the breakfast naan pizza was amazing and don't miss out on their smoothies either. Very American surf shack feel, ESPN on three screens and it looks like they have live music too. My girlfriend really liked their veggie omelet and soy lattes. Friendly staff. The food was NOT good. They didn't have coffee, nor ginger lemonade nor whip cream. We ordered a strawberry smoothie and a blueberry strawberry smoothie and they had absolutely no flavor, the French toast was basically toasted bread with some powdered sugar on it, pancakes were flavorless and over cooked. The only good thing were some eggs. The place is cute and clean, reggae music was playing so that was nice. But the food was just plain bad. My 5yr old said this place gets a corner of a star so we figured one star would do. read more

This has potential but lacks consistency in both service and food quality. The first time we went, the waitress was nice and the food was really good. I had the garlic naan with hummus and a salad with organic chicken and hemp seeds and fresh carrots. The bread was warm with real pieces of fresh garlic on it. This was a weekday at 2:00pm. Since we had a nice experience, we returned on a Sunday at 5:00pm. I ordered the exact same thing. They brought me cold naan bread, no garlic in sight, smell, or taste, and a minute amount of hummus (about one third of the amount of hummus they served me the first time I ate there). I told the waitress I had ordered the garlic naan and she said they ran out of garlic. I said I was disappointed because I really liked it the first time around. So she said they were "making" the garlic; which was weird. Some time later, she came back with a small cup of what looked like melted margarine, and told me I could just pour that over my very cold naan bread. Note that this was not garlic butter or garlic anything...or butter; it was yellow fake melted margarine. I did not touch it. Then the salad arrives. No carrots; no hemp seeds; another type of lettuce (cheaper) and awful chicken. It was horrible, and the waitress terrible. So that's it; one nice experience and one horrible one. If you are going to have such a nicely display of ambience and cleanliness make sure to have on point service. This place was horrible for service. As the waitress braided her hair as she "took our order" and we had to get up for our black peeper and other condiments for our food bcuz they were to busy chatting. We somewhat enjoyed the food however the rudeness of the waitresses (if thts what you would call them)and the lack of making it feel welcoming was a big F. We hope that for other customers your "waitresses" dnt come at the last bite to ask if "everything is OK" and make a table get up for the black peeper and yet tell me to "wait just a min" for it bcux they would rather be on the phone and in front of the cash register with no one waiting except for my family and our sugar, syrup,black pepper and WATER. Still working out the kinks. We stopped at the newest restaurant in Rincon while visiting the weekly Thursday night art walk. Located on the Square across from art walk it's a sleek and modern bistro. The menu warned that they were still in their soft opening having only been open a couple of weeks. The menu consisted of cold tapas, hot tapas some burgers and salads and small meals. Many of the offerings were vegan and vegetarian, but with plenty to keep us omnivores happy too. We ordered hummus with naan, and spring rolls. The spring rolls were sold out. We also got the coconut crusted catch or the day, which was Mahi Mahi and some guava barbecued chicken drumlets. The hummus arrived first. It had excellent flavor full of roasted garlic. I prefer my hummus to be smooth and this definitely had some texture. The accompanying flat bread was wonderful. The Mahi Mahi and drumlets arrived a few minutes later. Both were piping hot. The Mahi bites had a few bones, but were tender and flaky and delicious. I would have liked a lemon slice with it to give it a little zest, but they were very good nonetheless. They definitely tasted fresh. The drumlets were good sized, and delicious. Overall the food was impressive. The service however was less impressive. We told our waitress when she arrived that we didn't speak Spanish. She switched to English, which was very good. However, each time she came to the table she switched back to Spanish and only switched back to English after getting confused stares. We're in a Spanish speaking country so I'll forgive that. As we are finishing up she asked what we both thought was "can I take your plate?" my boyfriend said he was still using it and it was snatched up and whisked to the kitchen while he still held the last piece in his hand. She promptly returned and tried to steal my unfinished plate as well. However, our water glasses sat empty as she snatched plates at ours and other tables. I finally waved her down to ask for more water. I thought the quick clearing of tables was an effort to rush us out the door quickly and turn over the table but must not have been the case because we ended up having to flag her down for the check as well. This place has great potential. The food is fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is hip and young and fun. The service needs some work. I have also heard that the proprietor does not like the weekly art walk event and as a result many of the vendors are not likely to recommend this restaurant. I hope peace can be made because businesses thrive when they can support each other. The weekly event will likely bring regular crowds to this restaurant. I know we only ate there because we were attending the art walk. Cafe 413 shouldn't try to bite the hand that feeds them. Time will tell if they become part of the local community. read more

I'm the type of customer that enjoys a leisurely dinner, I don't rush, and I savor my time with my family and friends. However, waiting over an hour for a simple salad with chicken, avocado, and some dressing is unacceptable and quite frankly ridiculous. I don't mind paying extra for the avocado or the chicken, either. After I finally receive my salad it's missing the dressing, the chicken and the avocado. I don't mind paying extra for these things but when it's been over and hour and the waiter patronizes you by telling you it has avocado and the missing items when in reality it doesn't, then we have a problem. It is unacceptable and ridiculous to be asked if it's "okay" that she doesn't charge you extra for items that were missing, it should just be known. I would never eat here again nor would I in good faith recommend it to people I know. read more

I wasn't very impressed by this place..I think I just expected something way better from the reviews. It's decorated nicely with a surfer vibe but the food is lacking. Went in for coffee one morning and it was ok but very overpriced for the area. We're from NY so we're used to paying that for a regular cup but at least it gets us great coffee. We had way better coffee for less than half the price at other places in town. We decided to give it another try for dinner which we should have skipped. The tofu tacos were not good. As vegans we appreciate the options but if your gonna put tofu on the menu learn how to season it so it tastes good! The waiter and waitress were 2 local young people. They provided friendly service and were eager to please. Adorable and made us feel very welcome. My cafe con leche was tasty, my watermelon juice was refreshing and tasted fresh. The veggie omelette exceeded my expectations because it was jammed packed with spinach and peppers. The egg portion was thin and more of a crepe texture but I liked that. I'd ordered the veggie omelette hoping to get some veggies and it didn't disappoint. The small side of fresh fruit was truly fresh. They ran out of avocado and offered freshly made guacamole on the side as a substitute. It was a generous side of tropical tasting guacamole. It may have had some pineapple. It was very good. On my plate there was a very small portion of potatoes and peppers. Really savory. The toast was sandwich bread but it was toasted and buttered so it tasted better than average. I wish they had criollo bread but that's minor. They placed a glass carafe of cold water on the table so we never had to wait for refills. I left very satisfied with my meal and so relieved to have started my day with healthy greens, reds and yellows. read more

While visiting Rincon, we stopped here after checking out the Arts Walk on Thursday evening. We ordered a drink and dinner. The atmosphere seemed cool, but we ordered water as well, and it took out waitress about 15 minutes to bring that to us. We also waited about an hour and a half for our food to come out. This wouldn't have been a huge deal, but we saw people come in after us get their food (similar meals) before we did and no one came up to us to tell us that our food would be out soon or to apologize for the wait. When I asked a server about it, he gave me attitude. Then our waitress came up and said that the kitchen was backed up, which seemed like a lie since everyone else was getting their food in a timely manner. When the food finally did come out, it wasn't that great. The bread on my burger was "toasted" but more likely burnt and the fries were kind of soggy and cold. One other thing I noticed was that or waitress went back in to the kitchen and was playing with her hair right next to where the finished plates were being placed. Gross!
