I didn't realize how good it was until I stayed at Paris. It has everything while Paris has nothing definitely worth the price difference

    Connemara Coast Hotel - Upstairs

During our 12 day Irish coach tour, we stayed at Connemara for 2 nights while in Galway. The hotel…read morewas not very convenient, being pretty far outside of town (too far to walk), but it is a very pretty hotel. The main problem with the hotel, was our room. It was unusually warm the first week of September, and our room did not have A/C. Compounding that, the windows barely opened, and have no screens. So we had several insects join us in the evening. They were able to give us an oscillating fan, which did help a little. When we went to shower the 1st morning, the water temp was stuck on scalding hot, and you literally could not take a shower. The second day, they did switch us to a different room, where the water temp worked fine. But still no A/C. As for the restaurant, we ate in the main restaurant the first night, when we had a tour dinner, off a set menu. There were 40+ of us, so understandably I'm sure the food was prepared ahead of time. But it wasn't very good, and service was very slow. So much so that about a 1/3 of our group left after the entree, and didn't hang around for dessert. Now the second night, because we had a long day on Aran Islands (and because there is nothing around the hotel), we decided to eat dinner in the bar area. That dinner, was actually very good. My wife had the goats cheese salad and soup, and I had the mushroom gnocchi. We both liked our meals very much that night. It's a nice hotel, and I'm sure on another visit things would go better. But this wasn't that visit. My recommendation: if it's warm when you get there, ask for a fan as soon as you check in.

Service and food were great. Gearoid was an amazing server. The hotel is also an amazing place to…read morestay rooms are beautiful.

Prairie House Boutique Hotel - So called boutique room at 84 euros a night

Booked a double room in this hotel for a long weekend stay…read more Whats good? Cleanliness + Comfortable bed Now, sadly that's where all the good part ends. It really isn't a hotel or even a B&B as there is no lobby area, no breakfast and no services of any kind. -They have extremely late check in time (4 pm) and they are very inflexible about checking in earlier - Very bad/Non-existent WiFi coverage in the room(they advertised free WiFi), it was so bad that it didn't even open a single webpage - Extremely small room for the price we paid (€85 per night) the bed takes up 70% of the room. In reality, it was a single room with a double bed - No tea or coffee facilities - No glass(for water) in the room and no wardrobe closet; just a rod with few hangers - Deceptive photos on most booking websites which make the room appear larger - The location is 3 Km away from city center Sorry to say that even though this hotel calls itself "Boutique" most rooms are not "Boutique" (special or elite) in any sense of the word. For €40 (which is their regular rate), I will consider but anything more than that, its a rip off! Avoid! There are better B&Bs out there!

We had booked a B&B that got cancelled followed by a confusion. So we went ahead and booked this…read moreplace that looked super lux with large and nice bedrooms with fancy bathtubs, etc. for €85 a night. We arrived at the place and couldn't spot the place till the second round since the large sign on the entrance says: "Black Cat" which is a tapas at the ground floor and you have to ring a bell and wait for someone to open the door for you to enter the hotel(?) section. They do have a small "Prairie House" below the wall next to the entrance. The staff are friendly and the guy who takes us to our room, opens the door to this attic and says: "I hope you can fit in", giggles!!! The room we're in is a single attic room occupied with a small double bed squeezed in it. We literally woke up in the middle of the night since we were about to fall off the bed, however it's clean which is the only pro. The windows of course are the old single glazed ones letting all the wind inside, in addition to all the noise from the main road with all casinos and pubs around. You'd feel like the window is open! It also hasn't got a curtain, so it's too bright at night. I have an upcoming link to the noise! There's a bottle with liquid hand-wash but no dispenser so you need to take out the bottle and pour some soap manually! There's only a small shower and I cannot see that bathtub that they were displaying on their booking.com page. There is no breakfast and no tea/coffee facilities. There is not even a telephone in the room to call the reception since there's not even a reception at night time, but there are two mobile numbers at the entrance that you must call using your own credit in case you happen to need something. There's a wifi named after the place that your device might find. But connecting to it, a log in window pops up AFTER entering the password, letting you know that the DSL connection is not available. Glad I have unlimited data plan on my phone that sucks my battery immediately. There's also no parking obviously and you have to pay and display until 18:30. The next morning you must get up before 8:30 to move the car or pay and display more. What else should I say? "Do not ever think of coming here". Plan in advance and book a proper B&B. This is an absolute waste of money.
