We have had an absolutely wonderful experience at Meeting Street ELC and cannot recommend the…read moreschool and its teachers highly enough. Our family moved from Atlanta to Providence last summer, and both of our kids (2 and 4 year old boys when we started) started at Meeting Street ~9/2025 . It was a year with a lot of transition, and our oldest son in particular had a challenging year behaviorally. What impressed us most about Meeting Street was how consistently the teachers and staff responded with patience, creativity, and a genuine commitment to figuring out how to help him succeed. When our son was struggling, his teachers and the school coordinator worked with us to develop strategies, adapt the classroom environment, find ways to keep him engaged, and connect us with additional resources when we needed them. They consistently looked past the difficult behavior to see the smart, curious, energetic kid underneath it. By the end of the year, he is genuinely ready for kindergarten, and we feel much better equipped as parents because of what we learned from his teachers. Our experience with our 2-year-old's teachers has been equally wonderful. His teachers were extraordinarily calm and patient despite managing a classroom full of very young children at completely different stages of development. They put tremendous thought into their teaching, creating fun theme weeks and art projects while letting the kids' interests and curiosity guide their learning. They also worked closely with us through the entire potty-training process. Somehow, while caring for a room full of 1 1/2- to 3-year-olds at all different stages of diapering and potty training, they helped our son go from diapers to being fully day-trained by age three. He is heading into preschool well prepared, happy, and confident. One of the things we value most about Meeting Street is how genuinely inclusive the school is. I believe one of the most important things children can learn is that differences are normal and beneficial, that everyone belongs, and that our environments should be designed to work for all kinds of people. The teachers here are unusually well equipped to care for and teach children with different needs, personalities, developmental stages, and ways of learning, which I really think benefits all of the kids. Another thing that really stands out is how many people seem to know and care about your children, even when they aren't their primary teachers. The receptionist greets the kids every morning with "Good morning, chicken nuggets!" and somehow always has a sticker or little toy ready for them. Teachers from neighboring classrooms know the kids, help with difficult drop-offs, and jump in wherever they're needed. There is a real sense that the entire school is invested in the children. The staff themselves are warm, funny, patient, knowledgeable, and clearly care deeply about what they do. We have had so many conversations with teachers and administrators that helped us understand our kids better and become better parents. We are leaving Meeting Street because our kids are moving on to a local public kindergarten and a preschool around the corner from it (an hour of bridge traffic each day was the only downside to this school for us!), but we are genuinely sad to leave. We feel incredibly lucky that our kids spent this important year surrounded by people who cared so much about them and who helped them become ready for their next steps. If you're considering Meeting Street, I would highly recommend it. Our kids have been loved, challenged, supported, and included here. We will be grateful to the teachers and staff for a very long time.

I was concerned when I first considered different childcare options that my very high energy, very…read morephysical preschooler would somehow not have his needs met at a school that is designed to meet the needs of those with special needs. Growing up in Rhode Island, I always thought of Meeting Street as a school for those with disabilities, but I didn't realize it was SO SO SO much more than that - it's a wonderful place for all children. From my very first meeting with the director, Miss Ange, I was very impressed - she addressed my concerns perfectly by saying they were used to addressing children as individuals and finding ways to meet their educational and emotional and physical needs. So if my child has a "high energy quota" (as she put it so wonderfully), they'll find ways to meet that proactively as an educational obstacle rather than try to force him to fit a certain mold (sit and listen) or punish his energy just as a behavioral problem. And they've met that every step of the way. They've got a wonderful playground that they use frequently, they have lots of physical activity including gym class (which is accessible to even his classmates with physical limitations), and they have an indoor sensory gym that allows for him to get his wiggles out even on rainy days. He's quickly learned that his energy isn't a bad thing, but how to channel it into the right directions so that he can be a good friend and classmate, and a good listener and nice student. His preschool teacher, Miss Abbi, has amazing energy and has managed to make great progress in his listening and socialization skills in the month he's been in class. He is now much more independent in putting his clothes and shoes on himself, he sits for quiet time when instructed to do so, he eats more foods than he did before starting school, and he's much better at interacting with other kids - asking to take turns, including others. I've also loved the app they use - it makes it easier to know when they've been checked in and out if someone other than me is doing it that day, and they send notes and photo updates throughout the day so both their Dad and I can see what they're up to at school. I fully believe my children (I also have a toddler who is also doing wonderfully) are better for being in such a loving environment where each child is an individual and loved for who they are, for having friends who may be different from them. It's a wonderful place, and I'd pick it every single time over and over as the childcare option for my kids. Every single day, my kids beg to go to school and hold hands and run into their classrooms with smiles and not a backwards glance at me. That's the best reward, knowing they love being there every day.

Our family has used their childcare services for five years, and one of the things that has stood out to us is the consistency of the staff. There has been very little turnover, and many staff members have been there for years. Everyone is warm, kind, and wonderful with the children in their own unique ways, which speaks volumes about the quality of the program. One memory that will always stay with me happened when my son was about 18 months old. He was very shy and soft-spoken but was obsessed with The Night Before Christmas and would recite lines from it at daycare. One of his teachers went out that evening, on her own time and with her own money, to buy him a little board-book copy so he could enjoy it at daycare. I was so touched knowing that the person caring for my child genuinely knew him, loved him, and supported his interests. I also love that Little Angels is small and intimate. The class sizes are manageable, and each child receives individual attention. There are no cameras, electronic sign-in/sign-out systems, or daily photos sent to parents. If that is what you're looking for, Little Angels may not be the right fit. Personally, though, I appreciate that the staff are fully present with the children rather than spending their time taking photos to send home. After five years with this wonderful program, I am incredibly grateful for the care, love, and support they have given both of my children. I highly recommend Little Angels Academy to anyone looking for a warm, nurturing, and personal childcare experience.

If you're one of the many who have to head back to work with a new baby in tow, then you know…read morethere's nothing more nerve-wracking than placing your brand new darling in someone else's hands. You worry about whether your baby will like the caretaker...whether s/he will like them more than you...whether they will care for your baby as well as you could...and whether they will be kind enough to not tell you that they witnessed your baby's first word/crawl/gurgle/etc. If you're also in tune to the importance of early childhood education, you likely also want to know whether they follow the standards for care and that they are fostering your child's social, emotional, and educational learning and expanding your baby's gross motor skills. Whew. It's exhausting, thinking about all those things...and, as a new parent, I thought of all those and more when trying to decide where to enroll our daughter. A Child's University was seriously one of, if not the, best place we could imagine. Each and every day, she loves going to 'school'. I also love that she can grow there and maintain continuity, as the school goes up until Kindergarten. I have full confidence that she will develop mentally, socially, and emotionally under their watch. They do wonderful craft projects, even with the teensy babies, and every time I pick her up she is happily playing with the various toys or other children - always with one or more of the teachers sitting watchfully. All of this allows you, the parent, to feel good about the fact that your child is engaged all day long. And, while they do have a ton of rules and protocols to follow, I know all are done with safety in mind. The teachers are outstanding. I am not joking when I say that a primary concern of mine is whether they will be sensitive to the conflicting emotion caused by leaving your baby with another caretaker. For that kindness, and for the kindness they show to my daughter each and every day, they get an A+ in my book.

In addition to the amazing employees and the beautiful and bright space, this is a quick list of what I love so much about A Child's University: *It is accredited - It is extremely difficult to achieve and maintain academic accreditation.  It shows in all levels of the education. Yes, even my 11 month old had a daily curriculum they follow including themes, art projects, science, math, and health/motor skills. *Daily art projects.  Yep, even in the baby room, they do art! *They exceed the state's teacher ratio standards by staffing more educators in each room than the state requires.  Full time educators have their degree. *It's clean.   *They play music entering and leaving the building, and in the baby room. *They use an app that sends push notifications so I know the minute my son goes down for a nap, has a wet diaper, and how much of his lunch he ate (or threw on the floor as the case may be). *They send several pictures daily and have a live stream camera. *They have a nurse on staff daily. *The staff is so loved, and in return they shower our babies with love.  It makes me smile to see all of the love notes and gifts that the teachers received.
