Learning CAD is something I've long desired to do and was made possible by Chris and his team. Incredibly thorough, readily available with questions, and always willing to go the extra mile, I cannot recommend this company enough! read more

Just had a fabulous session with Zak. I have been searching for weeks for a tutor to teach me the basics of rotating and manipulating 3D point clouds in AutoCAD...seemed like nobody on the planet knew how to do this. In an hour, Zak taught me the fundamentals of using the ucs commands to do exactly what I needed to learn to work with these point clouds. Highly recommended! read more

Zak and Chris are great teachers very patient. They adapt to your skill levels. They are very helpful to keep you moving up in your skill set, you learn lots of tool shortcuts and settings to set up your system for a very efficient and productive work environment. I would recommend Cad Simplified to anyone from amateur to full blown 3D rendering! They take the time to show you the overall detailing from start to finished product and you remember it! They are very focused on their teaching but add a lot of personal touches I know from my own experience and time with Zak that he has tremendously helped me and continues to show me "little" things that help to smooth out some mighty challenging projects! read more

The CAD Simplified team is awesome to work with! From: scheduling your appointment, to change it -if you need it-, to attend to the session and following up. I had Chris as a teacher for AutoCAD workflow consultation, he brought to the table how to use the tools, how 'best' to use them, and (a big +) also how the industry uses it on different workflows. I will highly recommend them! 5 stars read more

Zak is an excellent tutor. I am taking Revit at UC Berkeley Extension. I was completely lost after 4 classes. I reached out to Zak and I'm so glad I did! I was on the verge of dropping the Revit class and losing my tuition money. What a great investment Zak is! Zak immediately put me at ease. I expressed my Revit anxiety and he asked me where that came from - what a guy! At the outset, Zak showed me much better and simpler ways to navigate - and made it much easier for me not to forget. He looked at what I was learning, figured out what I was doing wrong and taught me what I needed to know to catch up. And we made good progress in learning some stuff for my next class. In an hour, I felt I was very well prepared to face the Revit monster (ok, it's really a nice, powerful monster). I would definitely come back to him again if I get in a lost panic. Zak is very nice, personable and professional. As a bonus, he is easy on the eyes and physically fit (had to add that in). I highly recommend Zak as a tutor and as a professional. read more

I decided to learn Auto Cad to help my husband in his engineering work. So I looked up where to take Cad classes in SF. I looked at a few different schools. The collages. I started reading the reviews on them. I found Cad Simplified, curious, I looked at the reviews. Excellent reviews. I saw that multiple people had said that these classes were taught in such a way that you would learn very quickly the best and fastest way to use Cad. Also, the cost for the classes is very good. Very reasonable. In 12 hours I was drawing floor plans. In the next 12 hours I am able to fully help my husband prepare drawings for submittal. Zak and Chris are both great. Very personable. Chris taught my classes. I instantly connected with him. Very good teacher. Very good program. Very good for busy people. This is how learning should be!!!!!! read more

Took the auto card part 1 course a few months ago! The course was thorough and gave a good overview of the fundamentals. Our teacher, Chris was excellent - very experienced, clear and organized in his approach, friendly and helpful! He offered 1:1 assistance whenever an individual had a specific question or was noted to be falling behind the rest of the class. read more

Tutoring with Zak has proven to be a wonderful experience thus far, & I'm sure I'll continue to seek his tutoring assistance with AutoCAD, Revit, & 3Ds Max. He's extremely knowledgeable, works & teaches us to work on these programs efficiently, intelligently and strategically as interior designers & architects. He's professional, and consistently supportive, invested in teaching & encouraging. I feel like I'm definitely in good hands & excited to continue learning. I definitely agree that he has an excellent way of explaining everything, is flexible to your learning needs, and is great at answering questions, even when these questions don't make very much sense sometimes! He's actually been juggling my friend & I's questions, styles, tangents, & even differing paces at times :) I am pleased to recommend him! read more

Zak is an excellent teacher. He's knowledgable, patient, and is very good at conveying complex ideas into simple, easy to understand lessons. I took his sketchup course to improve my 3D modeling skills at work. Though I felt like I had a pretty good grasp on the program, I still learned many things from him I wouldn't have figured out on my own for a long while. read more

I loved this class! I have a been a 2D graphics guy all my career. Chris taught the class at a pace I could follow. The class was also small enough so if you had individual questions Chris had time to answer them. This SketchUp class gave a great foundation to begin exploring the program on my own. I came away very excited to keep up the training on my own! Ian R. read more

I just completed two CAD classes with Chris. He enjoys teaching and is very skilled in CAD. He never made me feel inadequate and is patient with his students. I'm old school though I'm leaving with the knowledge and confidence to further my skills. The new facility is beautiful, professional and very convenient to the Bart. read more

Zak is an excellent teacher! He always has the right solution for any questions you may have. I just finished his AutoCAD Level 1 course and learned more from just one class session than spending many hours online learning through watching videos and tutorials. He is clear with directions and shows you all the shortcuts that will make things easier. I would definitely recommend Zak to anyone! read more

If you want to learn AutoCAD or Revit your best bet is to sign up with one of Zak's classes. I learned so much more from Zak than when I signed up for an 8-week Revit course from Berkeley Extension! Zak's classes are focused, project oriented and goes beyond the basics. He is extremely professional knowledgeable and patient with his students. He is great at breaking concepts down to make it easier to understand. It is well worth the money to invest in yourself by taking Zak's courses, because the return is two-fold on your career. Zak is also a nice guy and a jack of all trades...that does stand up on the side. read more

Learning CAD has been a desire of ours for a long time but we have been overwhelmed by beginning the process. Zak made the barrier to entry totally dissipate and made learning the program AN ABSOLUTE JOY and incredibly easy. His teaching style is approachable and makes learning a very complex program not intimating in the slightest. He was so incredibly patient during our sessions and built such a strong foundation for us to continue learning on our own. We left our sessions feeling confident and empowered to continue building upon the foundation learned in the class. He is so knowledgable and has taken the long route of thoroughly learning so many programs to offer his students shortcuts that cannot be beat...he really is THE short cut king. On top of this, he is a wonderful person and really did make learning so much fun. We looked so forward to our Friday sessions with Zak! The same praise comes from our other two colleagues who took a Sketch-Up Course with him. Zak is the best and if you need to learn a program, your search is over, folks. read more

Chris and Zak are both incredibly smart guys and amazing instructors. Their approach to teaching is so personal and approachable . I have been able to gain so much speed and knowledge from their instruction in AutoCAD Classes, Revit Classes, AutoCAD tutoring, Photoshop Tuturing. They are a great team! read more

I have done 5 hours of 1 on 1. The rate is over $100 per hour which I'm fine with as long as the delivery has no down time. I found my instructor to be very nice but I did spend a lot of time watching my screen as he tried to figure out the software he was teaching me. I'd book this service again if it was charged more accordingly. I emailed them to give them feed back on my experience and they apologized and refunded me $100 which seemed right. Update-To the instructors credit I worked with another freelance instructor afterwards who also found teaching the the same function a challenge so it's my conclusion that it's actually a software problem. read more

You know how there are some people that just know how to explain things? It's more about their inherent personality than it is their background. There are some really smart people out there with impressive backgrounds, but that doesn't mean they know how to explain things. Zak, fortunately, is someone who can. He explained things to me in a few minutes that I hadn't fully understood after many minutes of instruction from someone else. He can also his adapt his style to your needs. Though he's been tutoring for a long time and through many iterations of software, and this has of course resulted in some strong opinions about the most efficient way to use the software (and he is most likely right), he still listens to you and how you think about the problem, and adapts accordingly. He watches you try to do it yourself in order to make sure you're really getting it. He checks in with you to make sure his style is working for you. He's extremely smart but doesn't make you feel stupid. He's equally comfortable on Mac or PC. He responds quickly to questions and seems easy to get ahold of, even evenings or weekends. He's expensive but worth it, especially if you have short-term needs. read more

Zak is the best! My boss hired him for some help in our Interior Design office and he has helped us out so much. He is very organized, and INCREDIBLY knowledgeable. Along with being patient, he is also very interested in teaching you- not just showing you where to click and be done with it- he wants you to truly understand. I can't say enough nice things about him! read more

Learning from Zak is amazing: he makes things relatable, easy to understand, enables tons of practice time so you can really memorize and learn how to use new software, and he is able to keep pace even when we students interject with questions. He's a really fantastic teacher!! I took the 2-day weekend SketchUp class in Jan 2016 and went from having zero experience having used the program to feeling UNSTOPPABLE with the program! I'm basically a 3D rendering monster at this point! You learn how to navigate and use the program, all the shortcuts, and also tricks to render things that Zak figured out himself. I would HIGHLY recommend Zak + CAD Simplified to anyone looking to start using or improve their skills in a creative software. Such a great investment, and I couldn't be more thrilled with how much I learned or the confidence I've gained in my SketchUp technical skills. read more

I Took the Revit Basic & Advance Class, so proud that I found Cad Simplified, because of the Best Teacher I ever meed. I took classes of Revit before, but nothing like this very good essence of the most important topics that definitely are going to be handy for you in the future. Having Zack as a teacher is the best you could ever want in one training as short but concrete as this first and Advanced Revit Course, I do highly recommend it, he is not like typical instructor that stays by the schedule, he makes sure that all the tools he is given you are going to be helpful for each one of us in the hole group of students, ah ! That's another good quality: keeping it simple-not more than 7 student per class, Having a much more personalized service, for me that's amazing, very much appreciated. read more

Zak is an excellent instructor, covering a lot of material in a relatively short period of time, while making certain that you actually understand the nuances of the software. Not only does he teach you how to use the program, he also gives you different ways of drawing a project, delivered in a manner that is both engaging and adaptive to each student. The small class size and one to one time is very helpful when you get stuck. I've learned more in a weekend class with him teaching than I have in an entire semester with other instructors. read more

I learned more in 12 hours from Zak than I learned in 8 months from YouTube! This class is completely worth the time and money. I went from being fearful of opening Sketchup to feeling confident in just one weekend. Whether a student or professional in the field, I highly recommend learning the tools from Zak. read more

I have taken several classes with CAD Simplified and I just have to say, they are truly amazing. I have never met such high-quality teachers in my life. They explain things clearly and thoroughly. It is unbelievable the way they teach. You can learn how to use a program in one weekend! In college a class would devote an entire semester to what CAD Simplified can teach you in two days! I cannot recommend CAD Simplified enough. If you need to learn a program, CAD Simplified is the most effective and fastest route. read more

Zak is a great tutor! He's definitely up on the latest version and techniques in AutoCAD. Like several of his other reviewers, I'm in the Interior Design program at UC Berkeley Extension. I was falling behind after 5 weeks and feeling lost. After a 2 hour session with Zak, I felt much more confident about being able to complete this course successfully. His approach is streamlined and logical and super time-saving! He even answered questions for me by text after our session! I really think he should teach this course at UCBX. I recommended him to the Director of the program. The only drawback for me, personally, is that his rate is quite high. However if you are in a pinch or considering dropping the class, I highly recommend you spend a couple of hours with him to see if you can get caught up. I suspect I will be back for at least one more session before this semester is through. I also wouldn't hesitate to try him for Revit next semester if I need the help. read more

Zak and his team have helped us increase our Cad and sketch up skills 10 fold! Their knowledge and ability to teach are unparalleled.

Chris helped me regain my sanity after weeks of frustration and hours and hours lost to CAD. Just knowing he is available in the future makes me more relaxed when lost in AutoCAD hell. Totally worth the investment. read more

Working with Zak from Cad Simplified helped me get over the hump of working in Revit with no previous experience. Zak was fast, able to respond immediately to the specific, and rather unusual aspects of revit that I needed for my work. Couldn't give a more positive rating. read more

Zak is one of the best tutors ever!, he is knowleable, friendly, patient and a well prepared instructor...I recommend him with no doubt!

I'm not usually prone to writing reviews, but I was so impressed with Zak as a teacher that I feel compelled to share my wonderful experience at CAD Simplified! I highly recommend Zak and CAD Simplified! I just took his SketchUp class and was very impressed with Zak's knowledge level and teaching ability. He taught a ton of time-saving shortcuts, and he was a very patient and entertaining teacher. He was able to quickly gauge the skill level in the room and tailored the class accordingly. After this class, I feel very confident that I can immediately start using SketchUp to produce high quality work product. read more

"Zak is an amazing CAD instructor and has the ability to pass his vast knowledge onto his students in a way that makes it easy to learn. His communication, attentiveness and his truly caring for the results makes him my first choice without any doubt. Not only is he generous with his time during hired time but he has often generously assisted me without hesitation, often with very little notice. When necessary I work with him remotely so distance poses no obstacle to our working together. I have the highest regard for him, his professional demeanor and his complete trustworthiness and have no hesitation recommending him to anyone who wants to learn AutoCad or Revit from scratch or to improve an existing ability" read more

I have had the pleasure of working with Zak. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to software programs, such as Revit, AutoCAD, 3ds Max, Google SketchUP, and the Adobe Suite. His training is very effective. I believe that it's one thing to know a program and it's another to be able to teach it and Zak has both. He is very patient and sees each student as an individual who has a different way of learning. He works with you until you feel confident that you can perform well on your own. I absolutely recommend him as the best teacher/tutor that I have worked with in this field during my school years. read more

I have been a designer for six years and have had a couple of tutoring sessions with Zak, trying to get out of some bad, inefficient habits using AutoCAD. He is very patient, knowledgeable, and will go out of his way to help if you get stuck even if you are not in a session. He will also taylor the sessions to suit your level of expertise. Very nice guy, and he clearly cares about helping his students understand the material. read more
