We've lived in labelle for 4 years now and have passed this location a million times. Today I said enough is enough we are stopping!! Should have stopped long before. I really enjoyed this place and the food. Service was great we were sat instantly (there was no one here) which at first I was like well is this a sign? The location has plenty of seating for large families. I noticed a bar and what looks like a DJ stand so i am assuming it gets wild at night lol. Now on to the food I ordered the chicken flautas with rice and beans and 1 barbacoa taco. I judge all Mexican joints by the rice and beans. If they suck 99% of the time the rest of the food will suck. I can report the rice and beans were perfect! So naturally the food was great. Food was hot and flavorful zero complaints. Cactus Mex is a good choice for tacos and other Mexican favorites if you find yourself in LaBelle, Florida or the general area and craving Mexican food. The service was friendly enough and Cactus Mex has a no-frills ambiance, but for me, I believe that the best Mexican food comes from these humble little mom-and-pop type establishments. Cactus Mex is a good choice for Mexican food and I would definitely recommend a visit to Cactus Jack if you are in this part of the world and craving Mexican food. cactus mex has the absolute best tacos around. i used to go every week. i moved to fort myers and now every time i come to labelle, or i want good tacos, cactus mex is where i go. this family owned restaurant is my favorite. the service is quick and the people are friendly. 10/10 recommend. ps. the al pastor tacos are the best. read more

My husband and I stopped here on our way down south. The food is 3 stars- pretty tasty at a reasonable price. The service on the other hand is horrible. There weren't that many people there and still the server didn't check to see if we needed anything, ask is we needed refills, etc. The stuff that should have come out hot came out cold and the stuff that should have been cooler came out hot. We ordered some queso and it came cold. The server didn't even come for us to tell her. We had to even get up to ask for our check. Overall, this place has potential. It's nothing fancy and seems like a local joint to watch Mexican sports and they have a full bar in the back. The seats are a little dirty but mostly they just need better service. Poor customer experience. The food is okay but the management is extremely poor. First, the men's restroom didn't have hand soap. It appears that they had hand sanitizer outside the restroom to compensate. I saw some of the women come out of the restroom and use the hand sanitizer as well. I can only assume there was no hand soap in there either. The smell from the restroom was also very overwhelming. It smelled like a septic tank. To make the experience even worse, our poor server offered us a to-go drink and the owner/manager proceeded to scold the girl right in front of us. I will not return. read more

As someone who has travelled the state extensively, Cactus Mex is by far the finest, most authentic Mexican food you will find. The hand rolled flour tortillas are simply amazing. Delicious and incredibly reasonably priced. You get a ton of food for your money, and it's all great! Free delicious chips and salsa to start you out, and 3 or 4 hot sauces with your food. This is the second time eating here and it's still just as bad. The first time the waitress stares at me like I'm stupid and makes me uncomfortable the entire time. This time I called in a to go order and the girl on the phone asks me to repeat what I said several times. She kept stopping talking to me to talk to someone else and then would get back on the phone with me. Then I asked if they had an item and she starts laughing at me! Previous two reviews must have been written by the owners. Four of us adults went there for dinner last night. It was all our first time there and will drfinitely be our last. The chips were stale and the salsa runny like water. We had ordered three different meals and all three were horrible, cold and portions were not large. The margaritas had no alcohol and when this was brought to the attention of the server he brought two shots of tequila and added an additional $6.00 to the bill. The floors were dirty and there was a nasty sewer smell in the washrooms and entrance area. It the prices were considered cheep, then I guess you get what you pay for. We will never go there again. read more
