The work event that I attended was grand and with excellent catering. As for the restaurant and the mural experience, those are separate reviews. Have to mention the famous DoubleTree cookies. However, Apple Pay was not accepted, and when one of us provided a physical card, the employee walked away with it for over five minutes, which made us uncomfortable. In the middle of the night, I was awakened by a man repeatedly banging on my door. He remained outside my room for approximately 15-20 minutes, left, and then came back again. As a woman traveling alone, I was terrified. I immediately called the front desk, and later even called 911 because I genuinely feared for my safety. The hotel later claimed the man was intoxicated and had mistaken my room for his own. Whether that was true or not, I had no way of knowing that at the time. From my perspective, an unknown man was outside my door in the middle of the night, and I had every reason to fear for my safety. What shocked me even more was the front desk's response. The front desk manager, whose name started with "Z," was extremely unprofessional. Instead of showing empathy or acknowledging how frightening the situation was, she never sincerely apologized. Throughout our interaction, her tone came across as dismissive, passive-aggressive, and impatient. At several points, she was chatting and laughing with other staff members while I was trying to explain a serious safety concern. As a guest who had just experienced a frightening incident, I felt completely ignored and disrespected. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable--I simply expected the hotel to take a guest's safety seriously. Instead, I was made to feel like I was overreacting. That lack of professionalism and compassion was far more upsetting than the hotel's explanation that someone had "knocked on the wrong door." Every hotel can experience unexpected incidents. What distinguishes a good hotel from a bad one is how it responds. Unfortunately, this hotel failed completely. If you are a solo traveler, especially a woman traveling alone, I would strongly recommend staying somewhere else where your safety concerns will actually be taken seriously.

I've stayed at the BW Redondo Beach Inn a few times, and each time my room has been large, clean and good. However, I got home in Nov'25 from one of the longest rainstorms in LA history and the already cramped and not enough parking spaces parking lot was full of construction materials. I can't understand on a weekend why they couldn't be put somewhere else? Also, despite checking in around 4:30pm, they had not held our room on the top floor I had asked for, so there was some noodling around to get it. We got a very large room on the top floor and everything was perfect, except on night 2 the roof starting a slow leak. They offered to move us, but it wasn't a huge deal, but beware, they are working on the rooms now for awhile.

The rooms are nice and clean, the front desk service is good…read more Almost every time I'm here there are large groups like sports teams, sales organizations, etc using the conference rooms which is fine. What I don't like is these people, both kids and adults, speaking loudly and running down the hallway right by my door. Or gatherings in rooms and stomping and shouting above me until 11pm or midnight. This is a hotel where people come to rest, not a bar or nightclub. Worst of all during my last stay there was a perfume convention and the entire first floor all the way into the lobby smelled like Savauge Dior cologne which makes me gag and run the opposite direction every time I smell it. Since the property's new ownership they charge for parking. At a Courtyard. That never before charged parking for uncovered, unsecured parking. Also no complimentary water bottles in the room. They have keurig coffee machines and coffee available but no water for it. I cant imagine how many people use their dirty cups or own water bottles to fill the coffee machine BECAUSE THERE'S NO FRESH SEALED WATER BOTTLES AVAILABLE unless you run to the front desk to buy some...which few people will do. So I ignore the "complimentary" coffee because it's unsanitary. This is a fail by ownership.
