This place is a must for any antique enthusiast and well worth the trip into Brunswick! It's massive!! Tons of stalls to explore, all with a plethora of interesting pieces - and not just full of flotsam and jetsam either! Entering the parking lot is a little weird if you're unfamiliar with the area...I ended up circling around a couple of times - be sure to take the turn into the lot BEFORE you get to the traffic light - bc there's no entrance after you get to the light and turn - it sneaks up fast and isn't well marked or anything! The building itself was a marvel - a massive old Victorian looking factory or (mill I'm guessing lol)! And so many stalls! I wasn't gonna buy anything but of course I found an old, quaint French mustard jar I just had to have lol! They do well with the Covid precautions. There are bathrooms available through the back of the store in a giant empty warehouse space also.

This place is so well organized and clean. It feels like a museum. I seriously hope it's ok that I take pictures here, because it always inspires me to do so. I have a slight obsession with vintage electronics and kitchen tchotchkes. COVID shopping: masks are required. It IS posted. They offer hand sanitizer. Aisles are wide enough to encourage physical distancing.

Lots of vendors under one roof. I believe they close at 5. They have a section with smaller items in cases. They have a vendor carrying large assortment of Fiestaware, one vendor who carries nautical items (corals, shells, repurposed nauitcal lights). Some items marked up but some vendors run sales. It's fun to stop in and browse. Restrooms and vending machines in building in different area. There is electric car charger on site and a Chinese Restaurant and flea market type set up also in the same building. They accept American Express.

This is a well stocked market with dozens of vendors (though with a consolidated checkout process.) The location is an old mill that has been converted for commercial/retail use. Also in the building are other businesses including a restaurant. If it is particularly hot out, this may not be the best destination as it lacks air conditioning. However, we were there on a warm day and found that the numerous fans in the building were more than enough to make the shopping pleasurable. The vast majority of the items we looked at were at full retail price. Even so, we still found a pair of bargains - not cheap, but barely within our price range that we were willing to pay and still feel like we got a decent deal. The staff is friendly, though the cashier was extremely slow. She appears to be nearly blind as she had to use a magnifying glass to supplement her prescription glasses to see normally sized handwriting on the price tags. While this didn't bother us, it did slow things down considerably. In fact a line formed and more people had to come over and help with the checkout process. Bottom Line: This is a fun place to shop, but you will be hard pressed to find a really great deal.

    Chalkboard paint for sale.

This antique store which is located in the old Cabot Mill is essentially 100 or so antique stores under one roof. The large space is sectioned off for the many vendors to display their wares. The owners are not required to be present since each item has a code that tells the front desk who it belongs to. Every time I come here I am greeted by a smile from the lady at the front desk, sounds of the industrial size fan circulating the air, and the creak of the floor boards. One could take hours of their day trying to look at each item, there's just so much. Each aisle is a new warp through another section of time. The mill is kept clean and the sections neat. All the items at clearly marked and honestly I like not having someone stare me down as I look at their items. So you haven't been here yet? What the heck are you waiting for? "Let's do the time warp again!!!"

    It's biiiig!

Lots to see and don't miss the gem of a Thai restaurant for lunch! Flea market is only open weekends, but antique market is open weekdays too.

Lovely things. Mostly traditional. Large space that was easy to navigate. Prices were a little high, but worth the trip.

It seems there are very few vendors any more. Most of the table spaces on our most recent Saturday visit were empty. The sellers continue to be an interesting bunch which is true of the sellers at any flea market I've ever been too. They will chat you up with stories of all kinds; they are "characters". Most of the vendors here are Mainers with a few other folks who travel from flea market to flea market around New England in the summer and warmer climes in the winter. This flea market holds a special place for me though. More than 25 years ago when I first came here with my husband (an inveterate collector and antique maven from childhood!) I found what became the first of my now overflowing collection of vintage cocktail shakers....and in fact the one I bought here is one of the most valuable in my collection. I remember I paid $22.00 for it having "talked the seller down" from $25.00 dollars. That emerald green glass shaker is now worth a couple of hundred dollars but I would never part with it. It's a beauty. At that time I was not nearly as interested in flea markets as my husband was and is. He would stop at any flea market he saw back then to my eye-rolls and groans. He would say to me: "Find something to collect and you will love them too". How right he was! It was the memory of my parents NYC cocktail parties that got me thinking of collecting the cocktail shakers and some other vintage cocktail era memorabilia. As a child peeking into the living room at one of my parent's parties, I saw glamour, sophistication and beauty....the women beautiful in their dresses and the men handsome in their suits and ties. I have photos of my parents' parties with cocktail shakers at the ready to pour martinis and I was inspired to go on the cocktail era memorabilia hunt. It's been sad to see the decline in vendors here at Montsweag...and maybe this means a decline in interest in flea markets? We will still stop here when we are in the area with high hopes there is a turn-around. If you're vintage hounds like we are, it's simply a fun way to spend a couple of hours.
