The Jerk chicken Rasta Pasta is totally amazing!! Best in Charlotte!!! Hands down I love this place!!

Came here for brunch. It was quite delicious, First time coming to this place. Graham was a Great server and offered lovely suggestions. We asked to sit outside it was humid but the light breeze and fans made it bearable. The sauces were good but spicy. read more

I came here awhile back to try some tacos after hearing some great things. Sometimes I wish I could go into some places without any preconceived notions because I did have high hopes and I think I was a bit let down, but on an absolute scale it's a decent spot and meal. I arrived around 630pm on a Friday and got seated immediately. I had a couple glasses of wine while my friend got beer. We ordered a variety of tacos (shrimp, chicken etc) which came out fast and were a good portion of protein. Overall the ambience was nice although somebody did come in panhandling and was asked to leave shortly after. Value wise it's pretty consistent with the area. Not certain I'd rush back or say that I understand the hype but I'd give it another chance if I were nearby. @azfitfoodfun read more

Stopped in on a Thursday evening, the place was pretty packed, which is typically a good sign. There was plenty of seating, and loud chatter. I opted to be seated on there covered patio. Our waiter seemed a bit out of it, kind of like he was on some sort of substance. We had to repeat ourselves often, he messed up my drink order and brought me something completely different from what I ordered. Anyway.. We were given some chips and dip when we were seated. I ended up just ordering chips and queso for my meal along with a cocktail. I was served the queso, but no additional chips.... I had to call the server back over and ask him if my order was supposed to come with chips, he looked at the chips we were given when we first were seated, which we've already been eating on and asked if I wanted more chips... I'm thinking to myself, if someone orders queso wouldn't it come with chips?!?!? One basket of chips for two people to share as a courtesy appetizer makes sense, but if one is purchasing a appetizer it should come with chips and dip... IDK, perhaps I'm wrong in my thinking, but that completely threw me off. The dip was not good, my friend said her fish tacos were bland. Maybe it was a bad night. read more

UNimpressed. Had bbq mahi and a tuna taco. Bbq mahi was a sloppy mess of bbq everywhere. It was drowned as was the maybe 1T of cabbage. The tuna had good flavor but again tablespoon of cabbage and maybe 2 t of cheese. Lotta hype little reason read more

The food was tasty and the service was great. Cool little restaurant. The beef I have with them is like a lot of restaurants today, they are showing you tip calculations based on the total bill, meaning including tax. Service should be based on the meal excluding tax. I understand that a very tiny minority of people would notice that which is why they do it but it is very dishonest. They would say they have no control or no one has ever commented but I am doubtful on both counts. It just inflates the wages of the servers at the expense of the diners. It is something that I would hold against them for returning. read more

Went on Taco Tuesday with a friend visiting from out of town. $5 à La carte tacos all day. It was delish! Love that the signature tacos are included. I ordered the shrimp and carne asada. And it hit the spot! Staff are always on point and gave great recs. It was also not too busy when we went. We went at an off time, but definitely got more traction as the evening went on. Love coming to Cabo since it's perfectly in the heart of NoDa. read more

I had lunch here, and ordered the soy glazed salmon taco and ginger beer battered shrimp taco, and pasta salad. The salmon taco was outstanding with tender flavorful chunks of salmon. The shrimp taco was a weak point because it was mostly beer batter and only a few small shrimp. The sauce was good but it was more like a shrimp hushpuppy taco. Our server was friendly and efficient, and I like the relaxed informal vibe in the restaurant. read more

Cabo Fish Taco - Mexi-Mahi Burrito - Latin American Near Me - Charlotte, North Carolina

Although Cabo Fish Taco is located in a charming Bohemian neighborhood, my experience was limited to takeout only. The tacos are offered two to an order with a side. We ordered Grilled Salmon tacos and Ahi tacos with black beans with rice and Avocado/Pasta salad. In addition, we ordered two Baja-style white fish tacos over cabbage and the salsa trio. We enjoyed all of it. The portions were good, the execution very good. Next time we should dine in. read more

Stopped here because the place was on DDD which means Guy Fieri ate here. Nice seating in a nice little cozy place. Service was average. We got mahi mahi tacos and the tuna tacos, along with plantains and refried beans. Beans were a little too soupy for me but had nice flavor. I enjoyed the tuna taco but not so much the mahi mahi, it was covered with a cilantro cream which is not my favorite flavor. read more

We were at an art show in NoDa, so we asked a local artist where to go for lunch. Great recommendation! We arrived just past noon on a Saturday, and we were seated immediately. The chips and house-made salsa were great. The salsa had corn, which was an unusual but fun touch. I enjoyed my shrimp tacos with a side of rice and beans (and more corn). The tacos come with flour tortillas. You can get corn tortillas, but that option isn't on the menu. You just have to ask. The menu also doesn't tell you that the tacos and burritos come with a choice of one side. My friend liked his shrimp and chicken burrito, too. It was huge, and he ate the whole thing. Service was quick, but it could have been much more friendly. On the plus side, my water glass was never empty. When we first walked in, the music at the door was very loud. It was a lot calmer inside, though. This was the perfect choice for our first time in NoDa, and I look forward to going back! read more

Kevin was truly an amazing server! He was very attentive and very helpful with suggestions. The food was also great. They had actual vegetarian options. I also loved that the bathroom was actually clean! read more

If it is Mexican food you are craving for, you are better off going somewhere else. The food is a bit bland from their rice and beans to the actual entree itself. I had ordered the carne asada burrito where the only thing I could taste was the tortilla and peppers. The steak was chewy but not seasoned at all. I will say the plantains were the best part of my meal. The staff was very friendly so you won't have a bad experience due to that part, but go for appetizers if you are in the mood to dine here. read more

The service was extremely slow. The food was average and lukewarm. The utensils were dirty. A complete waste of $30. I would not come again.

A great restaurant in the NoDa district with indoor and covered outdoor seating. Server was very attentive and we were seated right away, even though the restaurant was very busy on a Saturday night. I ordered the veggie bowl with tofu and the portion was a lot. Salsa had a kick to it! Chips came out warm. read more

It was my first experience here in probably over a decade. I always had enjoyed the place previously. I went this time on a Thursday night. It was not too busy. The service was fine. I received my chips and salsa and drink, and I ordered some of the white fish tacos. When I received the tacos, the meat was almost all breading- like those little crispy pieces that fall into the fryer, but have no substance. I doubt I had 2 ounces of protein between 2 tacos that cost $15. It's a shame. The flavors were actually good. But what was being passed as fish was ridiculous. read more

My family of four recently dined at Cabo Fish Taco, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. We had eaten here years ago and remembered it being much better, which made this visit especially surprising. The food lacked flavor across the board. Even my husband, who is usually the least picky person at the table and enjoys almost anything, commented that the food was bland and underwhelming. The chips tasted stale rather than fresh, and the calamari appetizer had an unpleasant flavor and texture that made it difficult to enjoy. Service was fine, but the quality of the food did not meet our expectations based on past visits. We left wondering if there has been a change in management, recipes, or kitchen staff because the restaurant we remembered and the one we experienced this time felt very different. read more

I got the shrimp tacos and salmon tacos and it was not a 10/10. The meat tasted fresh and so did the toppings, but i'd definitely recommend adding some type of sauce to go on top of the tacos. The environment and service was great! read more

Cabo Fish Taco - Soy Ginger Shrimp Tacos - Latin American Near Me - Charlotte, North Carolina

Each taco was stuffed with fish and had a delicious flour tortilla. Usually I prefer corn tortillas because they have a better texture, but these flour tortillas were great! Honey Soy Glazed Salmon Taco (5/5): Such a great blend of flavors. The honey soy glaze was perfect for the salmon and I also really liked the honey wasabi sauce. The wasabi was very noticeable, but not overwhelming. The salmon was fresh and tender as well. GREAT taco. Fried Flounder Taco (5/5): Perfectly fried! The batter didn't overwhelm the fish so it still felt light while providing some fried flavor and texture. It also wasn't too salty which I really appreciated. The jalapeno tartar sauce was nice as well but could've been a bit spicier. I liked the slaw as well. *Daily special Blackened Mahi Mahi Taco (5/5): Light and refreshing. The fish was tender and I loved the blackened flavor. Grilled Lemon Ahi Tuna Taco (4/5): Simple and tasty. The fish was good and was complemented nicely by the cabbage, guac, and sauce (I didn't mind the tomatoes either). Baja Shrimp and Crab Dip (4/5): The dip tasted a lot like crab rangoon. The pita was great! Lightly crispy on the outside and soft inside. *$5 Taco Tuesdays! RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this) read more

Amazing tacos! Loved the corn salsa and chips to start. I got the bbq mahi tacos.. delish. Hubs got the lemon shrimp tacos and he loved them. Surprisingly really liked the avocado pasta salad as well. Got a side of rice and beans but was too full to even try them! Great stop in Charlotte read more

Why does this place consider a bowl of corn salsa? Who knows. There should be one constant at a taco restaurant, salsa. I mean when did we all just give into letting places get away with this. I yearn for an America I never got to see and nothing is a bigger reminder of that than places like this. I hope they clean this hipster act up and put some real salsa down on the table for the next folks. ZERO STARS. Water was good though. read more

I live in Concord now. So sometimes these amazing places slip my mind. And that sucks. Except... I get to 'rediscover' them! Had to run an errand down the street and passed by. And my lizard brain made my feets turn on their own. Suddenly I was at the bar nothing on chips and salsa. Yummy! And staring down a long list of tacos and margaritas. Garlic shrimp. Yes. Silver Surfer Marg. Double yes! It was 4 pm so it was even more chill than usual. Service was awesome. The bartender and servers were all having fun and bringing the handful of bar patrons into the fold and jokes as they reset for the night. It was so fun and relaxing. I think I love this place more now than ever! PLEASE KEEP IT UP! read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would- the restaurant was not too busy, service was slow and the server was rude, we had a table of 7 people and 2 of the dishes had hairs in them read more

The food had absolutely no flavor and didn't resemble Tex-Mex at all. We ordered tacos and a bowl both were disappointing. The nachos came with chopped tomatoes and corn instead of salsa. The staff was mostly MIA and lacked enthusiasm. There was no effort to welcome guests or provide attentive service, even though the place wasn't busy for a weekend. Given the location and space, they really need more engaged staff and a chef who knows how to deliver flavorful dishes. The only reason I'm giving one star is for the drinks. read more

Not sure if we came on an off day but our visit, food, and drinks were just okay. Nothing amazing but also not terrible. My husband ordered Thai shrimp burrito and the Congelado (which is a frozen margarita) as his drink choice. He really enjoyed his food and rated it as a 4. I ordered a chicken quesadilla which was okay. But my drink, Azularita, was not good. Not even sure what was wrong other than it just didn't taste great. If you do come to Cabo's, definitely get the Congelado as it was delicious! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. We came on a Tuesday or Wednesday for lunch. When we walked in we were standing around for a bit since I guess no one noticed us but the sign says wait to be seated so we did. We finally get spotted and someone brings us to a table. Our waitress seems to take her time to come to us when there only 3 other people in the entire restaurant. We ordered the guacamole. Horrible. I asked if it was made in house because it tasted and looked like the ones you get at the grocery store. She said it was made onsite and they deconstruct it and then you add in the toppings. For $11 I don't feel like making it myself which is why I'm at a restaurant thanks so much. I thought this place would be good considering the one in Blacksburg used to be. We order our mains and I get a burrito and my friend gets the tuna taco and the tofu. Here was disgusting. No seasoning on anything. Very much white people mexican food. And ridiculously over priced. Wouldn't return and save your money. read more

Friendly neighborhood restaurant with southern hospitality. They're known for their seafood tacos as clearly stated by their name. I ordered their lime shrimp tacos and their calamari. The tacos were excellent and came with your choice of sides, I got the plantains. Shrimp was plump and juicy and tortilla was really good too, loved the toppings also. The calamari was flash fried and so it was light and crispy, very good! Service was super quick and food came out very quick as well! Overall a lovely spot to get a nice lunch! read more

My wife and I stopped in with our kids to get our favorite, Tavarua Tuna Tacos. It's a tradition now, as we moved away from Charlotte but visit during holidays and always make the trip to Cabo. Unfortunately, this year, we both got very sick. My symptoms started within minutes after eating, I got very red, top half of my body was a hot rash and severe headache. I went straight to the urgent care in Noda where they provided treatment but encouraged me to be transported to the hospital in fear it would slow my breathing. My wife's symptoms started the next day, mild rash and headache. By my own research, I believe we contracted Scombroid Fish Poisoning. What frustrates me is that I called to let a manger know and she said, "I'm sorry that happened but we use fresh fish and go through so much of it that it couldn't be due to food poisoning." Cabo would always get 5 stars from me and would have, had I not had this experience. Perhaps someone will read this and evaluate how this could have happened. read more

The staff here is AMAZING. I'm pregnant & dined here in Mother's Day with my family and fainted suddenly. The staff immediately jumped in & called 911, looked after my son who was scared & panicked & made sure my dog didn't escape. They made sure I had everything I needed and was beyond helpful. They treated us more like family rather than customers. I was so grateful for their help . They even insisted on us not paying for our meal. On top of that the food was AMAZING. I have never experienced such great customer service and genuine people and great food. Thank you so much Cabo staff, you truly deserve more than 5 stars. Thank you thank you Thank you. read more

Been stopping here for 14 years, each time we are in Charlotte. I always get the Honey Soy Salmon Taco, have never wanted to try anything else- it's always that good. I get excited about eating at Cabo Taco. There is a paid parking dirt lot behind the restaurant. Warm crispy tortilla chips come complementary with chunky corn salsa, which had always been fresh. Darling little covered patio area with the plastic walls and heaters in the winter. They also have my favorite beer Red Stripe ! (among others). In the Noda area so plenty of neat little shops on the street for walking off the queso, or just grab a coffee at Smelly Cat. read more
