This place always seems so empty during the day and picks up a little at night, but somehow I've never realized this place served Peruvian food. I didn't try anything too wild, but every grain of rice was perfectly done and the chicken was seasoned well. It was honestly a perfect meal. I will certainly come back and as a matter of fact, I might order from there tonight. I hear they also do karaoke but being a Spanish restaurant, I assume most of it is in Spanish lol. This review is for a to-go order. I did not dine in so I will not be reviewing the vibe and service. I happen to walk by while looking for a quick bite when I saw their specials sign. 20 dishes for under $10?!? So I had to give it a try. I got their Pesto spaghetti with chicken. There were not many people in the restaurant around 7pm on a Saturday, which was kind of odd....the host was very pleasant and our server was very sweet (she spoke mostly Spanish, not much English). We ordered a Lomo Saltado and a beer. We asked for the fries to be well done. A few minutes later, the food came. The beef was very tender, moist and nicely marinated. The white rice was also moist and fluffy. The black beans were delicious. The fries were not very crispy, as we had requested. I decided to try some pick up at this restaurant after hearing recommendations from my coworkers. Cabo Blanco is a Cuban-Peruvian restaurant located on downtown Hollywood. This time we ordered pick up. I had the ceviche mixto Classico and the menu lomo saltado. The ceviche was really good and fresh, although it was definitely missing in the seafood department. The octopus were so tiny!! Other than than, it was actually really good. The lomo saltado was not bad at all but I felt the rice was no fresh and the French fries were saggy. Ducked in because I live in the neighborhood and I follow this place on the Instagram and they looked good there. So I went in for lunch and had a half a chicken special with black beans and arroz blanco and it was delicious. Their side sauce is where it is at. Lunch was served pretty quickly and with a Sprite and un vaso de aqua I was in and out for $12 bucks with tip. Totally worth it. Looking forward to working my way through the menu. Spot on, authentic flavor and portions (not too large). Was scouting places in the Hollywood walking strip, and noticed this place. Someone had mentioned they had previously been located off the strip, until they moved a little over 3 years ago. For a Thursday night, when a few places were already busting with tourists (in our post-apocalyptic Corona world), we decided for this quieter spot. The soft pastel lights were surprisingly pleasing, there was no music (as they were having an issue with their sound system), the staff was helpful and friendly. We ordered passion fruit pisco sours, which arrived quickly and were a bartender's dream: a perfect balance of sweet, passion fruit flavor, and alcohol. For our main courses, we had the ceviche (fantastic), and the churrasco with spaghetti, in a basil and queso fresco. We closed dinner with a peruvian donut, known as "picarones". These were yummy, and a must-try, if you have a sweet tooth :) Will definitely be coming back before the end of my visit! read more

First time coming here! Went on a Wednesday night. We were the only guests. The ambience was very quiet and calm. I went for the ceviche mixto. The octopus and all the other seafood mix was great except the ceviche that definitely needed more time. Yelp needs to incorporate the zero star as an option. Wow guys what an experience. I ordered ceviche de pescado and lomo saltado through uber eats and after an hour of waiting I got the ceviche only. While my boyfriend searched the app to dispute and I was trying to eat the ceviche I found TWO hairs in my food and was DONE. Called the place and asked to speak with a manager over some loud music I explained the problem to which she proceeded to tell me that the lomo should've been in the package as well. Guess I missed it somehow LOL. Then she said she would give me a credit which I told her I wouldn't eat at that place ever again and she just hung up on me. My girlfriend and I went for a late lunch around 4pm to avoid a crowd. We were promptly greeted and walked over to our table. We ordered ají amarillo to share as an appetizer. Also a lomo saltado and huancaína noodles with chicken. And lastly tres leeches cake. The ají amarillo ceviche was seasoned very well, not too spicy, the right amount of citric. It was a surprisingly larger portion, it can serve as a main dish. Very please with this dish. The lomo saltado had great "saltado" smoky flavor and also seasoned well. Good balance of meat, onions, and tomato. Served with the typical white rice and french fries, also a very well executed side of black beans. The pasta with huancaína was cooked perfectly al dente, the sauce was creamy, and the chicken breast a la plancha was seared well and juicy. Both sauces that they bring to the table (green and yellow) are fantastic compliment to any dish. definitely try them, they aren't overpowering or excessively spicy. The tres leches cake was not too sweet. It sits about 3 inches tall, cleverly plated in a bowl, allowing you to control how moist you wanted your bite. This location opened in the past month. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We went on a Sunday afternoon and they had someone playing guitar outside. They have great lunch specials 7 days a week. My friend ordered the Lomo Saltado lunch special for $8.99. It came with French fries, rice and plantains. The meat was tender and the sauce very tasty. The meat is mixed with grilled red onions and sliced tomatoes. I had the tacu tacu saltado off of the regular menu for $18.99. I thought this was quite pricey. It was the same portion of meat as the lunch special but had the tacu tacu, which is rice and beans. It was not crispy like I have had at other Peruvian restaurants. I prefer the tacu tacu to have a crispy edge to it. It was also served with a side of black beans.....that is bean overload:) Service was good. The inside is fancier than what you see on the outside. Lunch here is really cheap. Like $4.49 for a quarter chicken, rice and bean cheap. I mean, you can hardly get that price at a fast food joint, and this is a real restaurant. However, when it's too good to be true, it is. I came to this restaurant for Valentines Day and I was immediately impressed by the restaurant's ambiance. It's extremely spacious with beautiful modern decor. I started my order with a mojito which I adored! It was extremely flavorful and fresh. Then, I ordered the ceviche as my appetizer. The ceviche was absolutely amazing! I love the flavor and the chunks of fish. I also liked the fact that the order come with a side of hot sauce so you can adjust the heat level. Next, I ordered a fish filet with mixed seafood and shrimp sauce. The fish was extremely tender as well as the shrimp. In addition, I also ordered a side of tostones and it was SO FRESH! We have come to this place several times, and this last time the taste of the food has changed ....dramatically and for the worst. We order a "ceviche de pescado" as an entree and the plate was filed with black pepper, poor taste and presentation (see the small piece of "cantor" - sweet potato). We decided not to order the main entrance as we did not want to risk it, they argue that their cook was specialized in Peruvian cuisine, but something so simple as the "rocoto" a spice from Peru .....instead we got freaking Tabasco, obviously on a plastic recipient. We found them on Groupon! We were presently surprised. We love Peruvian food and they official my top our charts for our favorite ceviche!
