And I asked just to trim it around, and I let him clear that I was letting my beard growing more. He cut Half of my mustache with a machine number one, And he asked me if I wanted it short or long after he Already shave it. and all of a sudden he stoped and realize he did a mistake, and he change the subject and said it will looks good. I almost answered him when he asked me that question: I want it long, so are you going to make the other half grow back again! Then He trimmed the rest. I almost cried on the seat. And my wife was shocked when I got home. I was looking awful and I shaved everything. Now I'm trying to grow it again. This barbershop was my worst experience ever. The vibe is just a lot better. There's a reason this place has been open for as long as it has. Yelp! and Google are really NOT the places to consider reviews on the shop. Each guy has their own Booksy App where they're rated as individuals. It's not like I would rate the entire shop based on one guy's flaws. And it's really disappointing to see someone who had an allergic reaction blame it on the barbershop and not just own up to the fact that you have sensitive skin.

When I got home my wife pointed out two or three spots where I had been nicked by the razor and there was visible blood. During the haircut when working around my ear he pushed it back hard, uncomfortably, and for longer than normal, leaving it red and hot. Twice he dropped something he was using on the floor and I'm not sure if he reused it or replaced it, but I'm starting to think he reused it. He was aggressive and quick with most of his hair clipper movements and left my neck feeling raw. The man who cut my hair, Arturo, didn't greet me when I first walked in. After waving me over he proceeded to place his phone down in a viewing position with a YouTube or some video running. He had an AirPod in and paid little attention to me. He spoke Spanish to his pals there and didn't utter almost a single word other than asking what I wanted done. Awful experience. Avoid going there!

Visit date:May162025 The Barber Smith Barbershop:(local,…read moretwo‑chair shop run by barbers Keith andSteve) My second visit to The Barber Smith was markedly worse than the first. Poor customer relations skills overshadowed any confidence I had in this shop, and ensured I won't return. When I first arrived, Steve was seated at the sidewalk outside the front door, smoking. I had to pass through the smoke to enter. With compromised respiratory health (50% lung capacity), I actively avoid cigarette smoke. While this presented an immediate concern, needing a haircut, I decided to enter anyway. After mentioning the odor when I went in, Keith (while cutting another client's hair) gave me a disapproving look instead of an apology. Steve, returning in, directly motioned me to his chair. I expressed hesitation about the cigarette smoke and smell. Steve said he "wears gloves." At which point Keith interjected, with an attitude, telling me "You know, you could go somewhere else." I was shocked at this. I could only imagine how uncomfortable this made his current client. At this point Steve offered to wash his hands, and I said that would be great. Keith again minimized the issue, remarking that "smoking isn't contagious." This dismissive tone and lack of courtesy led me to leave without a haircut, forfeiting 20minutes of driving and my time. Customer courtesy matters to me. A barbershop experience should feel comfortable and professional. Unfortunately, this visit fell significantly short in both those areas. Greeting patrons with cigarette smoke and defensive remarks conveys indifference toward my feelings, comfort and health. This is not people I want to give my money to. IMHO, Hygiene is non‑negotiable. Hand‑washing should be routine, not optional. Attitude set the atmosphere for me, and I was turned off almost immediately. A simple apology for the smoke, probably would have smoothed over the experience (though smelling smoke the whole time would still be a turn off) With the lack of basic hospitality and hygiene, I cannot recommend this barbershop. I will take my business, and the recommendations I share with friends, elsewhere.
