That's a huge bonus if you need to leave your car for several hours or even days. The attendant will give you a parking pass for as long as your trip lasts. They were courteous, kind and patient. The biggest issue is the large amount of traffic coming into the office & parking. However, today I suffered none of that. Office was quiet with few people & one little girl maybe 3 years old was speaking to everyone who walked in. Just so precious & quite possibly the only person today that some would have been kind to them. I'm thankful. I'll add it's clean inside and the parking lot is also clean and maintained.

I also brought my children here for reading activities when they were young. They have always been accommodating and friendly. I didn't fully understand how blessed our county was to have this library until I began researching my family history. The local history and genealogy room is better than any other I have ever visited. I have visited many. The ladies over this room, Leslie and Denise, are very knowledgeable of local history and are more than willing to assist you in your family research. They work hard to find additional resources to help you break through brick walls that you encounter. They host events and bring in experts and guest speakers. They are simply amazing. The other library employees are eager to assist you in making copies, finding books, and any other need you may have. This library is a great. The parking is not ideal but that is outside the control of the library staff.

I was surprised that the indoor mall area has been refurbished, very clean, but not too many stores that attract my attention. The food court only had half of their vendors open on a Sunday. Parking is not a problem here and people tend to shop or eat and not loiter around. It is a descent place if you need to visit JC Penny's or Staples.

There are six courtrooms, only two with a decent amount of space. On certain days, like traffic administration court, there are over 1000 people on the docket for one court room. And that does not include the entourage most people bring along...their kids, their significant others, their brother-in-law's cousin who took a criminal justice class through Phoenix University and just looooves Law & Order SVU. People overflow into the lobby and adjacent hallways, loitering around and being noisy. The Assistant District Attorneys have developed a great system, and they do their best to maintain order in the face of chaos, but it is no easy task. Additionally, courthouse security, provided by the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office, only has one metal detector. So there is one line, through which everyone except card-carrying employees must travel, and they require that people take off their belts, jackets, and sometimes their shoes. As you can imagine, when you have hundreds of people coming to court at the same time, you can have people lined up all the way through the front doors. The deputies do a nice job of moving people through efficiently while still being thorough and keeping everyone safe. Hopefully, you will have no need to come to the courthouse, but if you do, don't come on a Friday--just a tip.

There is a private parking lot next door to the office for the Memorial Garden. The actual garden entrance is 36 Spring St. My friend parked in a different lot. We didn't stay long because my friend didn't know it used to be a cemetery and that freaked her out. I saw pictures from another friend that she took for her senior photos and they were gorgeous that's why I wanted to come, but she didn't mention the cemetery. Easily accessible.
