We've hired Chris and his crew for three jobs in the last few years. Each time I was completely satisfied, in terms of quality and cost. The last job was the most complex. We had a ton of damage from the heavy snow storm in late Nov. '18. We walked around the yard and defined the job. He came back a few days later and did what he could. Promising to finish the job next week. At first, I was a bit disappointed because it seemed like we were out of sync on the precise tasks at hand. But to his word, he came back (having been paid in full the previous time), finished the job and did extra work as a courtesy to close the gap between our differing opinions on what the job entailed. He even removed one additional branch for free that again, was not part of the original quote. That one was probably a $200 job itself. Bottom line, good work, thorough cleanup and fair price. Chris and his crew did an excellent job cutting down a large cottonwood in our backyard. He seemed knowledgeable about trees and had a very reasonable price. He answered all my questions and even described the condition of other trees in our neighborhood. The men came out early in the morning and finished within four hours which included clean up. Was very pleased with Chris and his crew. Polite, professional, and very personal. We had a 50+ year old tree taken down....did an excellent job at a very reasonable price and cleaned up my yard before leaving. Since then 2 neighbors have used Chris and we have referred him to 3 of our friends. These guys are AWESOME!!! We waited for THREE days (from someone else) to get our driveway and walks cleaned off from the 2011 snow and they NEVER showed; even after numerous calls. I called this company and they came within the hour and finished a very long driveway and cleaned the walks and put markers on the driveway, for future reference. Great guys and an Awesome price!! Christian and his crew were great! They trimmed up a River Birch tree in my front yard and removed an infected tree in my backyard. He was very reasonable and professional. He showed me his insurance information and answered all my questions. He followed up with me with phone calls letting me know when he would be coming. And he showed up as we planned. I contacted Chris about removing 2 trees and trimming a large one over my house. He came out that day for a free estimate and he returned with his crew 2 days later to do the job. Chris was not only on time for the estimate and service, but he was very friendly and easy to work with. His crew did a great job taking out two trees and cleaned up all scraps. They were also very careful cutting the large tree over my house. It is definitely a skill to make sure the branches come down easily and not on my roof! He even cleaned all the leaves off my roof. HUGE disappointment! We hired him to remove 2 trees and 3 stumps. He comes on Saturday (7-26-14) saying that he would like cash so he could pay his guys. I should have known better. While he did come and take down the trees and remove the stumps. He however left ALL the wood in our parkway! HUGE pieces!!! He said he would send someone back on Tuesday to remove the rest of the wood. The first time I called he called back and said he would be there and this is not how he does business. A week and half later NO one has shown up and now he won't return our calls. Don't waste your time! He was recommended by another mom I know. I called Chris and he was great to work with. First, when I called for an estimate he came over the same day and the quote was much less than the other estimates I had received. His crew was available the next day to come and remove a tree and ground out a stump. I asked them to leave the wood so I can use it for firewood next year and they stacked it very nicely along the back of my house. The work was done were very fast, the crew was polite, and they left my yard in great shape. Chris even gave me some advise about a maple tree that was starting to split and how I can save it. I have other trees that will need to be removed in the future and I will definitely be calling Chris back. read more

Very reasonably priced, but only shows up when he feels like working and needs some money! Hired him to do some trench work and put in a new sidewalk in the front of my house. Took him 6 weeks to get it done, and even after that I had to hire someone to remove the boards and clean up the mess he left! NEVER give him any money up front even if he tells you he needs to buy supplies or pay his guys! read more

While I did write a glowing review for these guys in September (at Chris' request), it turns out I should've waited until they were done with all the jobs agreed upon between us. It's November and I'm still waiting for the sod while they have been paid for the material. Chris called me a "premier" customer? Is that how you treat one? We got a great price to remove two very large forty year old ash trees. Six men showed up at 9 a.m and by 1:30, both trees were down, the stumps ground up and the entire area cleaned up. They also trimmed our other trees of dead branches and our neighbors trees that hung over in our yard. I was amazed at how well they all worked together and how hard they worked. Over the passed summer, I watched the village remove several parkway trees. It took crews of seven or eight men all day to start the removal. Then they returned and got the trees down to the stumps. Then days later, came and ground out the stumps. I didn't realize what a waste of time and money Hoffman Estates is spending until I watched these guys really work and do a job in four hours, that the village drags out for days!!! I would highly recommend Cabanas Tree Service to anyone who appreciates hard workers who don't rip you off. read more
