First time taker straight out of law school and I was terrified of the bar exam. I struggled with the LSAT and had to re-take the MPRE multiple times and was convinced I would fail the bar. BUT with Shana and CA Bar Style, I was able to get it done and pass my first time!! I can't even begin to rave about Shana's program enough. She is so so knowledgeable about all the ins and outs of this exam. I can't even imagine how she does it but this lady is A BOSS. Her hard work and knowledge has allowed her to curate a top notch program that streamlines the process of bar prep, having her applicants focus and spend the most time on the most important aspects of prep. Her essay approaches are ingenious and I'm convinced the reason I passed the bar. Of course we spent time doing outline reviews, but that is not the main focus, unlike commercial bar prep. The amount of practice we did really sealed the deal for me. I tend to get so unmotivated and distracted doing review and watching long videos about doctrinal law, and this program really honed in my focus and set me up for success. The targeted MBE practice Shana had us do was also invaluable. We didn't spend time arbitrarily hitting benchmark quantities. Instead, Shana had us analyze which areas we need to target instead of continuing to practice the areas we already mastered. And her assessments throughout really helped me shift my focus on what I still needed to do to pass this thing. Overall, I can't recommend and praise Shana and the whole CA Bar Style team enough! Their support and motivation in the really hard moments helped me get to the finish line of this long, hard journey! Thank you thank you thank you!! read more

I am an attorney applicant preparing for the California bar exam. I chose CA Bar Style because it was presented to me as a specialized program that would streamline the preparation needed for attorneys. I am beyond disappointed. The materials are poorly organized, the lectures are all done by one lecturer (the owner Shana) who reads from her outline to "explain" the law and then spends the rest of the time focusing on a suggested essay approach, i.e. how to present the material to maximize points. There is no teaching of the topics by a subject matter expert . I have so far covered about 2.5 of the 15 topics necessary for preparation and I have already found many issues in the materials leaving me with zero confidence in their accuracy. In addition, the on-line platform is hard to navigate with multiple sets of instructions and emails needed to explain how it all works. You would think it would be simple and concise given how much the specialized program costs. Also note, there is no way to get a trial period, once she takes your money ($5,500 -- double what everyone else charges) it is non-refundable and she will say the issue is you being "overwhelmed" and that her materials are fine. They simply are not fine. I have been practicing law for going on 20 years. I have presented CLE materials to other lawyers and even judges. I know what a good presentation looks like. You won't find it here. Save your money. I wish I had. read more

Very strongly recommend first time and repeat CA Bar Exam takers contact Shana and enroll in her program. When I discovered Shana I had not taken the Bar Exam in eight years. She suggested I enroll in a limited not a full time Bar Review program which showed she wanted to ensure the most financial value was received. This demonstrated (to me) she was genuinely concerned about individuals who contact her who desire to pass the CA Bar Exam. More importantly, her manner of presentation in videos and organizing concepts greatly assisted me in understanding all subjects that could be tested. I feel forever indebted to Shana because she totally clarified for me the subject to Remedies (a subject that "completely confused" me during and after law school). Shana has that innate ability to convey what skills and knowledge is required to pass the CA Bar Exam. I used outlines from her video and her explanations to study for the CA Bar Exam that I passed as well. I wish I discovered Shana and CA Bar Style sooner. read more

2nd Update: I did not use your materials whatsoever in preparation for the exam - yes I completed the essays and PTs assigned from you but that is it. For the last two months of studying, I did not touch your approaches nor any of your other materials when I was self-studying (nor did I use a single one of your approaches on exam day). Please stop trying to claim that your program is what got me to the other side of the exam. I passed because I did what worked for me, without your help; I would implore you to stop attempting to claim the credit for a success that is not yours. Like I said, I am not denying this program works for some - I am saying it was utterly useless for me. read more

CA Bar Style helped me pass the exam after 4 attempts. After using commercial bar prep and another tutor, my confidence was so low and I still had no idea what I was doing wrong. As soon as I hired Shana, I knew that I made the right decision. Her materials were streamlined and not over overwhelming, and her essay approaches are truly the gold standard when it comes to writing for the exam. Anytime that I needed her I was able to text her and sometimes I did even late night and she would text back. I never felt alone in the process, and every single preparatory aspect was covered. There was even a time where I had a complete meltdown and Shana got on the phone with me right away and gave me a peptalk to clear my head. I am happy to report that I passed the the exam and now I'm a licensed attorney practicing in an area that I love. Thank you forever, CA Bar Style! read more

I worked with Shana in prep for the July 2024 CA bar exam and passed on my first try. Her program is built on her vast knowledge of decades of information about this massive exam and it works. I received individual guidance, coaching, encouragement, and support like I never imagined and I followed the program without having to overthink the process. Shana gives you what you need and if you trust the process and do the work you will succeed. read more

After posting my review. Shana contacted me. "is there anyway way you would be agreeable to remove the review..." I wish I could further update, but Shana said if she could not have my review removed by yelp. Shana verbatim wrote to me, "I will be moving forward with legal action." Apparently, my review is defamatory, but any bar tutor that owns a bar tutoring company would know that it does not meet the elements of defamation. I had more time to reflect. Shana is a truly dedicated tutor to all of her students. However, for me, I was not a fan of the teaching style. The user interface is satisfactory. I probably would've passed if I didn't switch programs midway through, but I would've passed completing any program and finishing them 100%. As I did with a commercial company. After contacting me and I gave her my honest opinion. She doubled down stating her program is "five stars hands down" She is entitled to this opinion, but I do not agree. after, she realized that I would not change My opinion. she told me she did not want to give energy or enage in this further becuase she has students who communicate their concerns, not hiding behind a yelp review over a year later. She obviously does not enjoy my review. However, she took the time to contact me and did not like what I had to say. Again, this is my opinion, with some quotes from Shana read more

CA Bar Style was a dream come true for my CA Bar Exam Preparation. I went back to law school later in life and really struggled with memorizing and applying the law. Shana and her team created a plan for me to get comfortable writing essays, analyzing the PT and was always in my corner every step of the way. I went into the exam confident and in control. I will always be indebted to CA Bar Style for my success on the exam. read more

I initially took the program for February 23, but due to a family emergency, I could not focus and get through studying/memorization week on top of the burn out I was feeling. I graduated in 2013 and ten years removed from law school, I basically had to relearn everything again, even legal writing (IRAC). It was a lot in a short period and I bailed out of taking it. However for July 23, with most of the relearning done, using the same methods and materials taught by Shana, and re-tooling the schedule to prevent burnout, I passed! I would say just stick to the program and if you have the extra-time, give yourself one free day a week of no studying and spread out the schedule. I will say, studying the second time, I only wish I had the graded essay feedback. Those are invaluable. Practice practice practice! You will intuitively learn the law as you apply it to the essays. read more

I wasn't sure how to go about attacking the California bar as an out of state student, I wanted something comprehensive that could identify my weaknesses while providing a schedule and the right practice to be able to achieve the result. This was it. The bar exam is a grind, and the schedule is tough, but if you follow the program correctly the benefits will show. Thanks to Shana for creating a program specifically tailored for the CA Bar! read more

I used CA Bar Style and passed on my first try. One of the key differences between CA Bar Style and your average commercial bar prep is that Shana cuts out all the unnecessary fluff that commercial companies have. I didn't waste hours watching videos and lectures. I was able to focus my attention on the absolute necessary material to get me through the exam. Using CA Bar Style, alongside the recommended AdaptiBar, I felt really prepared for the exam. The biggest reason why I suggest CA Bar Style is for Shana's essay outlines. Those were key to making me feel confident I could handle any essay. I recommend CA Bar Style over any traditional commercial bar prep company. Additionally, Shana cares about her students and their well-being. She understands life gets in the way and works with you through that. Her Head of Admin, Richard, is also very responsive and you can tell this team works hard to ensure success. read more

For those who have struggled to pass the CA bar exam, look no further! This is the best program out there! I was gifted the program by Shanna herself because my goal was not only to pass the exam to provide for my family , but I wanted to be able to afford to take my Mother to Hawaii, all expenses on me. Well, I took the program in March 2021, passed the July 2021 exam, got sworn in July 2022, got a job in August 2022 and able to take my family and mom to Hawaii in June 2023! Shanna and CaBar Style provide all the resources necessary. I cannot thank Shanna enough for gifting me her program! So, if you are looking to make sure dreams come true and not sure which program to use, trust me, this is the one! Cheers and aloha! read more

I worked with Shana for about 3.5 years. I was in the Law Office Study Program which is a program in California that allows you to apprentice under an attorney or a judge in lieu of attending a law school. Shana not only got me to pass the CA Bar Exam on my first try - but also my Baby Bar (a requirement in my program) on the first try and also the MPRE on my first try. You have to trust her process - because it works. Her essay outlines are the best ones out there and she does Bar prep in a way that is understandable and not so intimidating. I am now a practicing attorney in the state of California and most definitely would not be where I am without this program! read more

I had a great experience with CA Bar Style. Working with Miss Shana and her assistant Richard has changed my life in regards to talking to genuine people who want you to do well on any law exam. As someone who went to an unaccredited law school and had to retake the baby bar, my brother recommended California bar style to me and I immediately called for a consultation. After talking to Miss Shana through zoom I felt that this would be a good match. She created a personalized schedule for me and we figured out what it was that I was struggling with. I started her tutoring program sometime in February, and my goal was to do as best as I could on the essay portion of the baby bar exam versus the MBE, since I've always struggled with MBE. Unfortunately, the California state bar removed the essay portion of the exam and only made it MBE. With this in mind, I felt stressed and didn't know how I was going to do it. But Miss Shana sat down with me and gave me the pep-talk that I needed to stay on the right track. When Shana found out what I was struggling with, we went right to work. Shana would also be very lenient with her schedule and allowed us to work in person versus zoom when I explained to her that I do better working in person versus through zoom. During this period, I was also going through some personal stuff, and Shana was also very supportive of me and helped me not lose my focus when I came to my studies. With her help, she helped me stay in the mindset that I could get through anything. Shana is one of the most supporting people that I've ever worked with. She answered whatever questions I had and helps me understand the rule of the law, which is something I didn't have before going to law school. Her video lectures and her materials are also some of the best materials that I've worked with and actually helped me understand the law. I highly recommend CA Bar Style. Shana knows exactly what she's doing and she's also taught me that you have to trust the process and keep working hard to achieve your goals and dreams. I am so very grateful to have worked with Shana and I hope I can continue to do so! read more

I would definitely recommend CA Bar Style for any out-of-state attorney preparing for the Attorney Exam.

As an attorney applicant who forgot basically everything from law school, CA Bar Style gave me everything I needed to know to pass this exam. Shana's streamlined approach and mentoring, gave me the confidence I needed to perform. My advice to all is to simply trust Shana's process - it works! read more

Best investment I made towards my own success. I was a repeat Bar taker. As a Person with Paralyzed Hands I was slow while handwriting my essays. Shana was patient, compassionate, encouraging, and supportive. She took a personal interest in my success, and demonstrated a unique amount of responsibility ensuring I accomplished my goals. Her staff were extraordinarily helpful and supportive. Their critique of my practice essay responses showed expertise, insight and various techniques to ensure the development of my essay responses were not only concise but well constructed. read more

Words cannot describe to what extent CA Bar Style's materials and all of Shana's tips and suggestions contributes to me passing the bar exam. Even though I graduated high school in America, English is my 3rd language. I passed on my 4th try. However, I never took any other bar prep courses beside's CA Bar Style. It was Shana's essay approaches and all the PT work that we did that helped me pass. All you need for the essay portion are Shana's essay approaches and that is it! I would recommend Shana's course to anyone either struggling to pass the bar or anyone that wants to pass on their first try! Thank you Shana! read more

I passed the Feb 2020 Bar Exam (my first attempt and a historic low pass rate) despite: no prior experience with US law, taking law school in Canada over 15 years ago, having 3 kids ages 4-9, taking a couple of short holidays over the Christmas break, and my computer crashing 1/2 way through the first day and switching to handwriting the essays and PT to finish the afternoon. Why did I pass? Because I followed all of the instructions in Shana's schedule, watched every Adaptibar video, did a crazy number of Adaptibar m/c questions, did a ton of extra research so that I knew professional responsibility inside and out AND because Shana made sure that I believed in myself and stayed motivated. You too can pass on the first try. Call Shana! read more

I was stubborn and didn't think I needed a Bar tutor. But after not passing, I knew that something needed to change. I researched a lot of Bar tutors, read many reviews, but in the end I chose Shana and CA Bar Style because a friend had recommended her. I can confidently say that without Shana, I would not have passed the Bar. There are many reasons why I would recommend her, but these are the main reasons in my opinion. 1) I needed big help on my essays. The study plan that Shana gives you allows you to submit essay for her to read over and give detailed analysis of what you're doing right and wrong. And by detailed, I'm talking about every paragraph of your essay is annotated and dissected. And at the end of your essay, you are given a grade, just like how you are given a score in the real Bar exam. This was so helpful because it prepared me for the real exam, and showed me exactly what I needed to change. 2) The personal aspect. It's no secret that there are going to be other students besides you that signed up. BUT, it never felt like I couldn't talk to Shana. She was ALWAYS available, whether it be through email, text, phone call, or in person appointment. And you can tell that Shana thinks hard about her lesson plan every Bar exam. Shana herself teaches the classes, and if you aren't available to attend the weekly classes in person, like me because of distance/work, she posts the class videos online. 3) No BS. Shana is going to tell you like it is. If you are lacking in a certain area, she's going to tell you that you're lacking and how to improve. I really appreciated this. I didn't want to be babied, I wanted to know exactly what I'm doing wrong and the steps I can take to fix that. But at the same time, Shana is also filled with encouragement and motivation. As you can see from the other reviews, Shana is the real deal. I owe so much to her and the program she created. I 100% recommend that you use Shana for Bar exam help. read more

The reason I passed the CA bar exam is because of Shana and CA Bar Style team! Shana provides all the materials you need (she created all of them) such as outlines, bar exam questions, videos, and checklists. The checklists are LIFESAVERS. She provides checklists so when you are taking the exam you know what issues to discuss in whatever area of law. I highly recommend Shana to everyone. While the cost of the program may be steep, she is definitely worth it. I have friends who went with other programs that cost less but they were unhappy with the results (obviously they didn't pass). My sister will start law school in Fall and I have already raved about Shana. To any law students reading this, DO NOT spend money on Barbri or any other commercial companies. They overload you with materials. All you need is Shana to guide you and you will definitely pass. Also, a shoutout to Richard who is her right-hand man. He would always respond to any emails and assist with any questions I had. Thank you to both! I couldn't have done it without you. read more

If you want to pass the next bar exam, look no further - Shana and her team at CA Bar Style WILL get you there! Unlike the big commercial prep courses, Shana speaks with you, identifies your strengths & weaknesses and then provides you with a clear, concise plan tailored to your areas of improvement. And, rather than just making you memorize the material like the big courses try to hammer in, Shana actually helps you understand how and when to apply it, which makes such a huge difference when studying. She completely changed my approach to what I thought was an impossible two days, and I never would have been able to pass without her. Also, as a repeat test-taker who was located outside of California, I was nervous about going with a tutor who held in-person classes that I could not attend. However, I never felt like I was disconnected from the rest of the group because all of the lectures are recorded and posted super quick, and Shana consistently makes herself available by phone & email for any questions - whether for emotional support or explaining the material. Further, the feedback on the essays you submit is always very personalized; the structure of the course is so manageable and detailed; and the essay approaches are absolutely fantastic. Everything is so simplified, and it just makes sense. All you have to do is show up, trust in the process, and hold yourself accountable when it comes to getting all of your work done on time - and you will pass the next bar exam! read more

---Intro--- Hello Everyone who decided to read my review. I hope my experience of studying with Shana would help you, especially if you are a foreign student. My name is Meng Qi. I came to the U.S. as a foreign student in 2006. After I graduated from college, I went to law school and got my J.D. in 2016. ---WITHOUT a tutor--- I moved to LA after I took the bar exam in 2016. As what I would expected, I did not pass. Later, I had to move back to China because of my immigration status in 2017. I took a non-legal job in China but I have never forgotten what and why I started all of these. This is very critical for me. In the summer 2018, I came back to the U.S. and took the bar again. I did not pass. However, the score looked very good and very close. In the Feb 2019, I came to the U.S. and took the bar again. This time, the score went down. I felt extremely frustrated. I decided I have to review my works and process and figure out why and how. ---WITH Shana--- I actually watched a lot of Shana's bar review videos during the Feb19-prep. In the April 2019, I contacted Shana and talked to her about my case. In fact, it was kinda late for me to enroll. Nonetheless, Shana took me and helped me catch up with the progress. During the consultation, Shana pointed out that I may have moved to the wrong direction from the July18 to the Feb19 and that is the reason why my score went down. She said it was rather the "approach" and "wording" I had to work on. -Shana's outline Comparing to outlines provided by the commercial bar prep courses, Shana's outline looks like a dictionary. Instead of the tedious text, there are a lot of buzzwords. The organization of the outline is great. In another word, it is like reading a well-prepared powerpoint, rather than a textbook. -Shana's help on the essays This is another unique, as well as a core feature that Shana would provide and other commercial bar prep courses would not. The evaluation on each essay reflected the strengths and the weaknesses of the performance. For me, the grade was not I was looking for. The comment, as a "Guide," was I am looking for. The comments on the side also helped me a lot when I wrote for the next essay. I tried to adjust the approach and the wording through the progress. In the end, this worked! -Shana's help on something other than the book Instead of "you are doing great," Shana was very honest to me. She pushed me from the beginning to the end. But when I needed the support, she was always on the other side of the phone or email, despite of her busy schedule. ---Wrap up--- I am happy that choosing her is a great decision for me to pass the bar. I am also very happy to know Shana, not just as a tutor, but also an instructor, professionally and personally. I do hope everyone who took her prep course have a great future. Shana, hope you can keep it up as a great tutor. Thank you very much for helping me! read more

Shana and the CA Bar Style team came highly recommended, and I see why! I was devastated after a failed attempt at the California Bar Exam in February 2020. I enrolled in CA Bar Style's Gold Package program and passed the October 2020 exam. CA Bar Style delivers results. After an initial assessment and review of my February 2020 exam file answers, Shana knew exactly what to do. She and the CA Bar Style Team put together a prep schedule and a personalized game plan that targeted all my problem areas and helped me strengthen my weaknesses. Shana immediately saw where I needed to work and what I needed to do to pass the exam. Moreover, she and her team adapted quickly and impressively to the pandemic and the multiple date changes for the October 2020 Bar. She altered our schedules, provided needed days off and extra tutoring, and handled these curveballs like a true professional. The course itself requires that you put in the work and submit assignments on time, but it's manageable. I was able to work 20 hours/week and stay on top of my assignments. The CA Bar Style team was there not only for substantive help, but also for help staying organized (thank you, Richard!) and for much needed pep talks when practice essays or MBE sets would come back with low scores. As for substantive help, Shana and her graders provided excellent, thorough feedback explaining why scores on my practice essay were low. CA Bar Style really provides a comprehensive approach and support in all aspects of bar prep. I passed the October 2020 California Bar Exam thanks to Shana and the CA Bar Style team. All I had to do was listen to Shana and do exactly as she instructed. I think that's the key to finding your name on the pass list. read more

I cannot thank Shana and the team at CA Bar Style enough. Without their help and guidance I would not have passed the July 2021 exam. I have taken the Bar exam 4 times before I met Shana. Each time I tried something different without success. After I received the October 2020 disappointing news I had to regroup. A friend recommended Shana; after my initial consultation I immediately knew I wanted to work with her. At the time my daughter was 8 months and I was pregnant with baby number two. Off the bat she told me it was going to be hard, but I could do it and to "trust the process." It was the best decision I could have made. I took the early bar prep program (it is an amazing program). At our first tutoring session Shana pointed out my weaknesses and told me how to correct it. I've taken several other bar prep courses and it was not until I met Shana that I was told what I was doing wrong. The actual bar prep course is fantastic. A daily "to do" list is provided. In my opinion what sets CA Bar Style apart from other bar prep courses is the sincerity that Shana provides to her students. She personalizes your calendar and the tutoring sessions are very valuable. The Essay Approaches, her PT approach and the grader feedback are incredible. Shana also makes herself available to her students throughout the process, I never felt alone and it felt reassuring knowing that Shana and the team were there for support. "Trust the process." I want to thank Shana and CA Bar Style for the course and everything it taught me as a repeat exam taker. I just found out that I passed the CA July 2018 Bar Exam, which had a historic low 40% pass rate for a July exam, it also only had a 16% pass rate for repeat takers. Shana has an excellent way of explaining each and every subject on the exam. Furthermore, she has approaches for all the issues so that once you recognize it on the exam you know exactly what to write and how to approach them. The materials from CA Bar Style are not overwhelming like the big brand reviews (which I tried and obviously did not pass with), Shana's material is very organized and only gives you what you need to succeed. Another big plus with Shana is that she is always checking in on you, making sure you are doing well and not falling behind. Furthermore, she takes the time to check out your work, find out what your strengths and weaknesses are so that she can help make those weaknesses stronger. Once again, thank you to Shana for helping me overcome this beast of an exam! read more

As a repeat taker, CA Bar Style was able to help me successful pass the 2023 February Bar. My first attempts were with a commercial program, but those programs do not provide you with the individualized attention and accountability that I needed. I particularly struggled with my writing. Shana was able to pinpoint the exact areas I needed to improve and was able to help me overcome my anxiety when it came to my writing. As a coach, she pushed me when I needed it, but also provided support and comfort when I was overthinking or being too hard on myself. The day of the essay portion of the Bar, I was an anxious wreck after the morning session, but Shana was able to help me compose myself so I could go into the afternoon session and do what I needed to do and get those points. Quick background: I graduated law school in 2000 and had taken and passed the MD bar exam in 2001. My results were high enough that I was able to waive into another jurisdiction (DC). Several years later, I was sworn before the U.S. Supreme Court. Fast forward to February 2020 and I'm taking the CA bar exam. I used the same study skills and large national bar review course I used when I first graduated law school. I was dedicated, focused and prepared. Yet, I failed! I knew the PT would give me some issues but I didn't think I did that bad. While my essays were decent, I completely bombed the PT. I knew I had to do something different for the July (which turned into the October) bar. I would not make a career taking the bar exam. I was even more determined. I researched bar review courses and tutors and I hit the jackpot when I discovered CA Bar Styles. From my first interactions with Richard who answered my call to my 'interview' with Shana, I knew from day 1 this was going to be a perfect fit. Richard is the utmost professional, friendly and supportive. I connected with Shana immediately; her no-nonsense approach and results-driven attitude (all served with a smile) were just what I needed. CA Bar Styles offers personal tutoring, constructive and timely feedback, and a realistic schedule. Shana was able to pinpoint exactly what I did wrong during my first attempt at the exam. When there were times that I felt discouraged, I could count on Shana lifting me up, dusting me off and getting me right back on track. The feedback from the essays and PT was invaluable! The essay approaches provided me the confidence walking into the exam that I could answer (or at least format) any question for any subject. I wasn't walking into the exam wishing and praying for certain subjects not to be on the exam. Again, you're going to do enough essays and receive excellent feedback that you will be comfortable no matter the topic. After taking CA Bar Styles, I was looking forward to taking that dreaded Performance Test. Shana provides an approach that can be used for any PT assignment. Going into the exam with a toolkit and bag of resources that you acquire during the program are what made the difference. You really do have to "trust the process". If Shana schedules breaks in the calendar, take the breaks; if she says do 2 additional essays, do the additional essays. I wholeheartedly recommend this program to any law school graduate or attorney practitioner. I actually made this claim prior to taking the bar exam. I can happily say I passed the October 2020 bar exam during a global pandemic and I know I could not have done it without CA Bar Styles!! read more

First, let me say Shana is absolutely amazing!!!! I was a repeat taker, and I initially tried the big commercial bar prep, which I feel didn't give me the help I needed. The whole time in that big commercial bar prep I felt like I was just doing work and not learning. After failing, I did my research and found Shana. I don't even know where to start. Shana actually takes the time to find out what you struggle with and help you improve. She takes the time to make sure you get it, and makes herself available for your questions and concerns. The CA bar style program is so thorough and progresses at the right speed. This allowed me to really learn and understand the material. The essay approaches, the course material, the tips, the 1 on 1 help, the timely grading feedback, and just everything is so amazing and helpful. I strongly recommend CA bar style to first time takers and repeaters. Thank you Shana for helping me pass! read more

I want to share with you why I'm so happy I went with CA Bar style for my bar prep. Not only did I pass on my first attempt at the CA Bar, but I did it fully seven years out of law school using only her materials. Shana Karpeles truly merits your business. I was lucky to discover Shana on the internet searching for resources, and after seeing a few examples of Shana's lectures on YouTube, I could tell her style was right for me. She's so clear, so focused, so professional, but also so human. Her skill and command of the law is contagious and inspiring. I cannot speak highly enough of the quality of her focused materials. She's honed her talents into a precision machine focused on passing her students no matter their challenges. I can't fully describe just what a consummate and caring professional she is--a true credit to the bar. Even while teaching substance, she would insert small bits of helpful advice, such as "always do right" in the context of professionalism, or give helpful stories from her own practice about how the law works in real California courts. I look up to her as any leader I've been inspired by in the law. This lady knows the bar examination, and will treat you as the individual you are, and help you orient and adapt. You can confidently build trust with her. Every single thing she said was spot on, even when nobody knew what was going to happen in the first online bar examination. How does she do it? I could say she's magic, but that level of professional skill always dazzles. She's simply that good. You'll understand that small typos and other foibles don't make or break you on the bar exam, and the small typos that may exist do not detract from the quality or accuracy of the information. I tried BarBri and other materials, but Shana's stuff is so much more focused and on point. I abandoned everything except for her materials, and I credit her approach for what got me to pass in a single attempt after being out of law school for so long. I basically went from zero to licensed under her instruction. Helping others during what is usually one of the most difficult trials of their career is a task that should only be entrusted to the best. But she is 2020 strong, and that takes something extra special to keep you focused even when the world around you is literally on fire. She is such an incredible gem. I'll always be a fan! read more

DO THE BOOT CAMP!!!! If you are waiting for a sign...here it is! When I first heard about Shana I looked at her videos and instantly I felt drawn to her course because I felt that she truly spoke my language! I had tried the Barbri program and it was nothing like her program. I wish that I would've known about CA bar style long ago as it would've alleviated so much emotional turmoil. When I first signed up for the bootcamp I was scared at the thought of only having 5 weeks to prepare. However, Shana said don't worry you are within the point range and I WILL GET YOU THERE! I felt a sense of comfort knowing that she believed in me and that my essays were indeed up to par. However, A few weeks into the bootcamp I met with Shana for a FT where we reviewed my essays. The FT began with a somber tone as she told me that I didn't seem to be grasping the approaches. I worriedly asked her if she thought I would be ready in time for the exam. She told me that it was up to me to really buckle down and get it together. She truly lit the fire in my soul and as I took the exam I remember her voice telling me to keep going!!! The moment I received access to her program I was in awe! Shana's videos are about 20 minutes long and they are straight to the point as she walks you through each subject and how to handle each topic on the essay. Her outlines truly show you how to write a lawyerly response for the bar exam as she tells you this is your intro, this is your argument, this is your defense, etc. The best part about the bootcamp is that every single day is accounted for. You must watch the videos, learn the approach, and write the essays. The essay feedback was amazing as it was very detailed and quite frankly their grading made it feel similar to a bar grader. In regards to the MBE's Shana teaches you how to track your progress in a way that not even Adaptibar can teach. When I first started the bootcamp I was averaging about 60% on the MBE's and by the time I took the February bar after having followed her approach I was averaging about 80%. Overall my experience with Shana and her team was truly a dream come true. I owe my success story to them for giving me the tools that were necessary to pass the dreaded bar exam. read more

Trust the process. Never take the CA Bar again. IF: (1) you weren't convinced by the sales pitch from the larger commercial barprep companies or (2) you took a commercial course the first time like I did and are looking for a program that will give you a more personalized approach to tackling the CA Bar, I highly recommend you give Shana a call, check out the website, and see if this might be a good fit for you. Of course, take all of these reviews (including my own) with a grain of salt, because we all learn differently and well, all of the rave reviews are from people that passed. I'll be honest, I let myself get overwhelmed the first time I took the bar. I was using both a commercial course and a tutor. Trying to keep up with both schedules was definitely too much. I was over-doing it. That said, the bar exam cannot be passed by knowing the law alone. Developing a means to approach the essays is absolutely necessary. This is where Shana gives you your money's worth and then some. Along with being provided with her approaches to the various issues tested, you get more than enough one-on-one meetings, and plenty of graded essays (far more than the larger commercial courses) with useful comments to get you to that passing score. The class size for each bar is pretty small. I believe February is typically a little larger, but when I took it for this past bar, our in-class size was usually less than 20. Don't worry if you can't make it out to Sherman Oaks though! She records all of her lectures. Also, her lectures are much more condensed for each subject compared to commercial courses that may spend days scorching the earth with every possible issue you may asked to discuss. I personally found this a huge plus as it gave more time in your week to review and get more practice in since you didn't have to go to lecture every day. The material that you are given to accompany her lectures is far more streamlined than other commercial courses that just throw all of the law at you (even tiny wrinkles that you'll never need for the exam). In addition to the books, you are signed up for Adaptibar to assist you with your MBE practice. You also get flash cards. I wasn't a fan of was the flash cards provided with the course. I used the Critical Pass cards and I think it was a good substitute for memorization and hammering away at the MBE subjects. Bottom line, her program is more focused, more personal, and she has a great track record in helping students of all backgrounds (ABA, non-ABA, first time, repeater, etc.) get on that pass list. She's also been very accurate with essay predictions. Shana is super nice and extremely helpful throughout the entire process and makes herself very available for your questions from day one. Just stick to the program, don't let up, and you'll get there. Happy studying! read more

I took Shana's CA Bar style boot camp which was a complete Godsend for a repeater like me. If you recently failed the bar by a couple of points, and you're ready to put in work, her boot camp will get you in shape to pass the very next bar! As a repeater who passed on her fourth try, Shana's program gave me the personalized structure and study plan that I needed to pass the February 2021 exam. By the time I decided to take her program and in the first two weeks of study, I was already wishing that I invested in her full course the first time I took the bar exam. Shana not only gave me the materials to succeed, but the consistent pep talk I needed that was vital during the most stressful periods of study. I don't think I would have passed without her bootcamp within the short period of time I had to study and while working full time. Thanks to CA Bar style I can finally put this exam behind me! read more

As an attorney applicant, I found Shana's materials and approaches spot on and her graders provided meaningful feedback on my essays. Shana helped boost my confidence and stay motivated. The online learning component gave me flexibility to study around my work schedule. Shana understood my work demands, and helped me modify my study schedule when I had pressing deadlines at work and stay on track. Thank you for helping me pass the California Bar! read more

I passed because of Shana's essay approach! I failed many times and English is my second language. I really liked how organized the course was. If English is your second language and you are struggling with essays and PT, I highly recommend CA bar style. read more
