WARNING! Do not go here! They are extremely overpriced and charge you for mistakes they made. The charged me $50 to alter a pair of beaded gloves and when I came back the only reduced the side of the glove and not the fingers. When I asked them to reduce the fingers they tried to charge me more. They ended up not charging me but the beads from the back of one of my gloves was missing, ruining my gloves. They have dishonest business ora and try to milk every penny from you that they can. I will not ever be doing business with them ever again and i highly suggest you don't as well. read more

I have been going to Comet Cleaners at 4965 W Tropicana for the past 10 years that I have lived in this neighborhood and I always paid them up front because I always received great service. That all changed last Friday on 04/12/24. I took 5 pieces of which there was a white linen suit that I paid almost $500 for a year ago. I received a call from the proprietor named Jung the following Monday telling the jacket had stains and that they had to re-due it. I told her that it did not have stains on it when I brought it to them and that if it had I would certainly made them aware as I would have needed them to concentrate on that. She told me to give her about 2 days and that she would call me when it was ready. I received a call 2 days later telling that I could come pick up my cleaning. When I got there I noticed the suit coat jacket was strategically place in the middle of the other pieces so I raised the plastic covering up a little to reveiw as much of the jacket as I could. When I got home I was able to remove plastic and fully inspect the jacket only to notice there several little black spots on the front of the jacket on both sides. I immediately took the jacket back to the cleaners and told her that the jacket still had spots and that it was given to them in this condition. I also made her that she was trying to pull a fast on me by giving the suit coat back knowing that the spots were still and tried to package as to where she thought that I wouldn't notice it...NOW IM LIVID! So she took the jacket back and told me that she would send it back to there cleaning plant and that she call back in 2 days once it was ready. I did not receive a phone call so I went up there and the jacket was still there with a piece of paper attached to the top of the hangar. Jung explained to me that plant told her that the stains were mold and had to be specially treated and that I had to sign of on the paper authorizing then to do this and that if the jacket was damaged from the treatment that I would assume responsibility...NOW IN TOTALLY PISSED!! They damaged my jacket and they can't fix it and they're trying to get over on me and insult my intelligence by trying to put the liability on me! I told her look...you guys damaged this jacket! And you would that after 10 years of faithful service and always paying you upfront would account for something especially customer retention! I offered to split the difference asking that she give me $100 and I'll go and by the suit coat jacket again. She told me no that she was not going to compensate me. I went to my store and bought the jacket again and paid $233 and I brought the receipt back to her to show her that I was not lying about what it cost. I also told her that my tailor inspected the coat and found that it had been machine washed in error and that the spots could have been from the perforated holes from the washing machine drum where someone had washed it in error and the coat had sat in there to long. This lady named Jung is very dishonest and appears to have no honor and I will never use this cleaners again. She also made mention to me that her cousin used the proprietor and that she took over about a year ago. I am a retired African American male and I'm also retired military. I am a homeowner and tax payer. I do my best to treat people as I would like to treat me. This lady did not seem to respect me at all and she did not care about my 10 years of loyal service. I told this lady that if I were Korean she would have already made restitution and that we probably would not be having this conversation. So tired of trying to treat people with respect and not receiving the same. They want our money but don't respect us after they get it. Sad part is that I understand that people make mistakes. She just simply could have admitted that they made a mistake and split the difference with me and we could have kept doing busy because that would have told me that she respected me and appreciated my patronage and we could have kept doing business. This dry cleaners is still in the Family, but has changed hands recently. I love the new look and while the previous owners/Managers were lovely, the new ownership is even nicer! They're friendly, efficient and very affordable. They always have specials and we take all of our garments to Comet. read more

Found my local dry cleaner!! Tucked away behind the strip mall between O'aces and BJ Buffet across the street from International Market on Decatur is where you'll find this hidden gem. Parking are along the curbs in green in front and on the side of the store as well. It's not much, but it'll be quick, i promise. So check it, I drop in my laundry to get an invoice slip with my info and about a 24-48hrs I can come back to claim my gears. And every time i pick up my clothes come back looking brand spanking new. Every single time! Threads and color looking great. Creasing on point. Even got that fresh new, new smell. Perfect! The people here?? Love them! Nicest and honest individuals working here. They all know you by your name after a few visit. A mom and pop shop that i feel really comfortable with leaving my valuables with. One thing i do notice is that whenever i check in they're always eating. I think it's cute, but i see what they're eating and it makes me crave for banchas all the time. Gahhhh, it never fails! Maybe i should i bring my own chopsticks one day and see where the course would take me. Turn around time is usually a 24-48hrs depending on when you dropped off, yet I'm kind of baffle why it takes so long when they're the only one in town with a time machine. I've seen them fiddle with some buttons and my wardrobes would spawn up in some of these plastic bags as they're rolling through this contraption. Pretty cool if you ask me. Maybe that's why they have to be a little more inconspicuous. Anyways Comet Cleaners are not just limited to just dry cleaning. They do rugs, comforters, or any other special garments that needs special attention. Alterations or hemming can be handle here as well, so save yourself a trip while you're at it. Your apparels are in good hand here. No pick up on Saturdays because that's when they have to recharge the thingamajig and do some maintenance if any. *tip* bring chopsticks!! read more

I am very disappointed from this place, when I gave them my shirts they just gave me a copy of the items that I've left there. I've asked for the cost and the owner just told me that it is hard to calculate, it's too many items. When I came back I've ended up paying over $75 for 12 shirts and 3 jeans repaired. I've told them that it was too high for what I've left there and they blamed me for not seeing the price list that is kinda hidden on a wall on the right side when you get in. They messed up my original pair and went out and bought a new pair !! And they wanted to argue with me and say we don't do returns or anything, I was calm and let them know that they were not my pants & left them on the counter smh I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. We called ahead to make sure they were able to dry clean our two shirts on time before the following afternoon. They were fast and friendly during drop-off and pick-up, but when my boyfriend put on the shirt after flying out of town the next day we realized it hadn't been cleaned at all. There were still underarm stains and full body odor on the shirt despite the shirt being pressed nicely. Perhaps they didn't have time and didn't care to tell us because we mentioned we had a flight to catch the next day so they assumed we weren't locals. Don't take anything here that has a stain in it or has any value to you. They didn't treat my stain (chocolate) and then ironed and pressed the stain into my shirt. She said she doesn't guarantee anything. I asked then why not call me before ironing the stain into the shirt. She said she didn't have to call me and she doesn't guarantee anything. They have horrible customer service and lack basic common sense. read more

If you are thinking about bringing your garments here I would advise against it. When I got my garments back it looked like I could have washed them myself and 5 out of the 7 garments I brought in still looked dirty. Not worth the money. Go somewhere else. read more
