Great new nail salon in Mineola. Christy has been doing my nails for years and she is amazing! I'd follow her anywhere. I get a UV Gel French manicure and it's always flawless. She is charming and very friendly (fluent English). New place is spotless and has a warm decor. Pricing is inline with other salons of its size (and less expensive than some). Staff is small (for now) so recommend making an appointment. read more

I can't fathom how this place has such high ratings. The salon itself is dingy and musty. I (unfortunately) a habitual nail biter and I came in articulating that I wanted a full acrylic set in a natural French look. It took five minutes of group discussion for the woman working on my nails to understand what I was asking - not an uncommon request whatsoever. She then started grinding on my nails without having sanitized either of our hands or the tool she was using. Within one minute, she had already made the side of my finger bleed - with the unsanitized tool. Lovely. After that, she told me the price would be $70. I have never paid any more than $50 for a set of French tip acrylics in my life so I contested. They talked amongst themselves, looking up at the price board for about 5 minutes before calling someone on the phone who told me they do not do acrylics at that salon. What baffles me most about this place is that the women working did not even know if they did acrylic manicures or not. It took a random voice over the phone to set everything straight. They should have never begun work on my nails before fully understanding what I was asking for. Needless to say, I left immediately and went to 2B Nails in Westbury where the salon was so clean, the service so lovely, and my nails absolutely beautiful. For $45. I will never return or recommend anyone to patronize this shop as they are unprofessional and incompetent. Edit: Apparently the owner of this establishment believes it to be okay for her staff to (1) not know what services they offer, and (2) begin work on a client without understanding what the client is asking for. I would have never left a review if they had told me they don't do acrylics at the onset because I never would have allowed them to begin work on my hands. The fact that they don't do acrylics is not the point. Further, I saw absolutely nothing being sanitized, where at the other salon, I saw everything being sanitized. No one washed their hands or gave me a place to wash mine, where in the other salon, both things happened immediately before beginning work. I was very happy going elsewhere, and hope you do, too. read more

This is the first nail salon that cares more about service rather than making money. I tried color gel powder for the first time and I went back after one week because my nails were lifitng. They fixed it for free. The owner's husband said that its their job to inquire why my nails were lifitng. They took my gel nails off and did the whole thing over again. I paid nothing but tip. Once again, after 1.5 weeks the same thing happened. Turns out I still had UV gel on top of my nail so thats why my nails were lifting. The owner gave me a huge discount and still kept on saying that if this problem happens again to come back and they will take care of me. I am so shocked that this business cares more about keeping their customers happy rather than making an extra buck here or there. This is definetly my new go-to salon. read more

Warning!!!! THIS PLACE GAVE ME A NAIL FUNGAL INFECTION!! Avoid this salon. I've gotten my nails done here twice, both times with powder gel. I had an uncomfortable feeling about this place but decided to give them a chance. I have been getting my nails done for over a decade and never had any sort of fungus or infection. After taking off the powder I discovered that 3 of my nails are infected. This place is dirty and disgusting. They use the same powder jar that they dip every clients nail in, clearly unsanitary. I wish I listened to my gut and ran out of here. The nail techs either lack the knowledge about how disease is spread or don't care that they are giving their clients infections. Please avoid this place. My nails are green and discolored because of this dirty salon. read more

I stopped in here for a gel manicure a few weeks ago after visiting my sister who lives in the area. The gel manicure was $25.00. This is definitely a no frills type of place, however, there are a lot of gel nail colors to choose from and the woman who did my nails was also really nice and meticulous from start to finish. Thanks to the great reviews I went here bc I was in town for a funeral and had some downtime. I had a lady named Sue (I think) who did my pedicure and it was awesome. She was quick and efficient at the boring stuff like cutting cuticles and then took her time on the massage--that's what we really go for, right? After the massage as my toes were drying under a fan she rubbed my neck and shoulders too. So relaxing. If I'm ever in town again (hopefully under happier circumstances) I would definitely go back. This is my go to nail salon! Used to come here back in the day when Christy owned it and I loved her. Once she left, I wasn't thrilled with the people who took over. However, the new management/owners that took over recently are amazing. Mary does my powder gel and she is meticulous. My nails come out perfect every time and last for at least 3 weeks. I sometimes even push it to 4 weeks. They have coupons and discount specials. TONS of colors for powder gel and great designs/ombré ideas. Some other salons have 5 colors for powder gel- not here! I've had Fiona and Mary for spa pedicures and they are wonderful. Everyone is so nice and they keep your appointment times and accommodate you. Plus, great massages every time! read more

BEST MANICURE EVER! I came to this salon right after a really bad experience elsewhere in Mineola. The previous place didn't clean my cuticles and the paint job looked like it was done with eyes closed. The manicurist here- Mary, saw my nails and was astonished that it was just done at another place. She was AMAZING. Her attention to detail was exceptional. I've never seen anyone focus on doing my nails with such precision before. She checked with me if I liked the length and shape of my nails and really took her time to make sure my nails were cleaned and painted beautifully. Absolutely the worst customer service that I've ever seen that I am filing a dispute with my credit card company for damaging my nails further than they already were. An acrylic nail broke from just gently scratching my scalp and I'd just gotten a new coffin style French tip set from them (gel-manicure by the way) for $80! Other than the fact she did not even make sure the nails of each side were the same shape and length, I had to correct her numerous times for a few nails to fix it. On top of that, she made me bleed multiple times, and I have two cuts near my cuticle on my index finger and ring finger (left and right hand consecutively). Additionally, when it came to making a nude French tip, she did not even apply a nude nail polish color, and you could see through the acrylic and my actual nail. She just did the French tip,and that too, they were not drawn evenly. I had to correct her to make sure they were the same shape, and size on my nails. When I left, I realize the corrections she made on the French tip just showed a blatant white line over it. I went back twice after I'd paid to get them fixed. I still left unhappy, and without perfect French tip nails. I had to go to another salon and pay $45 for the same thing and you know what they did? They actually shaped the coffin nails properly, put a nude color prior to the white French tip, and there weren't air bubbles. Did I mention there were air bubbles all over the French tip? There were stains in the bubbles from using pencils and using makeup and it looked hideous. Very poor service. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

Great Salon! Great prices! Convenient location. I bought my wife a gift certificate for a Valentine's Day mani-pedi at another location and they ended up cancelling on us last minute. She was heartbroken and very disappointed to say the least. Luckily this salon came up on Yelp and we decided to give them a try. I'm sooooo happy we did. Mei did an awesome job and everyone at the salon was super friendly & helpful (even though we booked last minute on a saturday night). This place used to be better, when it was under different management and had different workers. Under the latest management, I have been unhappy with my gel manicures. They barely last one week! And paying around $40 for a manicure that lasts only one week pisses me off. So I finally found another place that does gel manicures that last. Besides the mediocre manicures, the workers always seem to be in a rush. I think this "rushing" leads to shoddy workmanship. Despite my annoyance with their manicures, I decided to still go for a pedicure this morning. The girl I had rushed through the whole process, leaving me a bit stressed rather than relaxed. I felt like asking, "Do you have a hot date or something?" I regret still going for the pedicure. For me, it should be a relaxing time, not a rushed event. I miss the old workers. The current crew seems like they couldn't care less. And they're always in a rush. I'm willing to bet that slowly, bit by bit, they'll lose customers. There is a much nicer place up the block that will give them a run for their money. read more

Came to this nail salon urgently after getting home from work on the train, and not being able to get to my normal spot on time. It seems clean and neat, but is small. Only three people were working so I had to wait about 10-15 minutes after I got there. Gel manicure that I paid for was $30, but it's not even been a week and looks like it is going bad! Overpaid for a special pedicure. The massage chairs were interesting... Got your legs there too with air compression. Back massage from one of the girls after my nails hurt.
