Ashley is beyond talented, and also just a beautiful human inside and out. From just our intro call with her, we knew we had to work with her. The way she conducts calls as well as her intake form, is so thorough; you can tell that she really wants to get to know each couple, their story, and capture things perfectly (which she does!). Our engagement shoot was one of the most fun afternoon/evenings we had in planning our wedding. Ashley helped keep things light and fun for us even though we don't take pictures often and even included our dog! We loved the photos so much we ended up adding her to capture our Welcome Party too! Leading up to the wedding, Ashley was always the most responsive vendor (email, call, text) and had everything ready to go, all the time, and was always perfectly on time. On the day of the wedding even though things can be chaotic, Ashley always had a smile on her face and was ready to go no matter what! She kept us laughing and was a great hype girl to have throughout. Not to mention she shot our wedding while pregnant too! Even after the wedding, Ashley has been super responsive and we will forever cherish our photos. We got them back way faster than we expected which helped us relive the day over and over! We also were featured in Magnolia Rouge because of Ashley's amazing photos! The gallery offerings she has are perfect for wedding guests to view as well, and we're in the process of making our photo album now...it's been so hard to pick with too many favorites!

Steve at Avalon struck me as extremely knowledgeable, as he was able to answer my barrage of technical questions with ease and confidence. It was clear that he has been doing photography for a very long time and really knows what he's doing. At some point, I had a phone conversation with another wedding vendor in Chico that made me call and book Avalon immediately after I hung up. This wedding vendor asked which photographers I was considering, and when I listed Avalon, she said that she had gotten married herself just the year before, and hired Avalon to do her wedding. As a wedding vendor in the area, she is familiar with many of the local photographers, and said that Steve is the best. So I called him right away to book him. I am VERY happy I did so! Steve at Avalon did my engagement shoot and wedding photos. For the services he offers, he is very affordable. The other photographer, Alicia, who helped shoot the wedding, also did an amazing job. They are both extremely kind people, and very professional. They had lots of tricks to get people to smile and laugh genuinely, and captured so many sweet and funny candid moments. Also, I can't say enough about the lighting--the lighting in the photos was incredible! They knew exactly where to position everyone down to the inch in order to work the setting to the best advantage. I have gotten so many comments from guests saying, "Wow--your photographer was so good!" or "They really knew what they were doing!" I've attached some examples of the amazing photos that Steve and Alicia took. Thank you so much to Avalon for capturing my wedding so thoroughly that we won't ever forget a moment of it!
