It was clear that he has been doing photography for a very long time and really knows what he's doing. At some point, I had a phone conversation with another wedding vendor in Chico that made me call and book Avalon immediately after I hung up. This wedding vendor asked which photographers I was considering, and when I listed Avalon, she said that she had gotten married herself just the year before, and hired Avalon to do her wedding. As a wedding vendor in the area, she is familiar with many of the local photographers, and said that Steve is the best. So I called him right away to book him. I am VERY happy I did so! Steve at Avalon did my engagement shoot and wedding photos. For the services he offers, he is very affordable. The other photographer, Alicia, who helped shoot the wedding, also did an amazing job. They are both extremely kind people, and very professional. They had lots of tricks to get people to smile and laugh genuinely, and captured so many sweet and funny candid moments. Also, I can't say enough about the lighting--the lighting in the photos was incredible! They knew exactly where to position everyone down to the inch in order to work the setting to the best advantage.
