WORST MONTH OF MY LIFE WITH CIBC
I moved to Hope for awhile because I was starting a new job, this was about 3 years ago and all happened in the Chilliwack branch but I needed to switch from RBC because Hope only has CIBC , but I feel comfortable posting here because well, it's the same company.
After switching into my new bank, everything was fine, I used my new card and it worked... all is well painless enough.
Next day, this is my third day into my new job. I go to buy gas in the morning and my card no longer works, and I can't drive from hope to Chilliwack with no Gas.... I try calling CIBC and they say there is a "hold" on my account because I need to go back into the bank and verify my "address" because I am living in a motel and it's a business address.
So, I call work and explain the situation and let them know I'll be late. Wait for the bank to open verify my address, and it works again.
Well at the end of my shift, my boss comes up to me and says " We can only have people we rely on here, and if your going to be late on day three well i don't think that's going to be you."
Boom fired. Thanks CIBC.
I'm an understanding person. So I go into the bank and tell them about what happened and the lady was really nice, apologetic.... and said she could offer me 200.00 dollars but I should call into the bank, file a formal complaint and see if there was anything else I could do.
What was i asking for?
1 month pay. Enough time to try and find a new job, I'm not welfare kinda guy.
In comes NICK from Toronto..... He said this happened before and nobody else asked for money?....... THIS HAPPENED BEFORE AND YOU DIDN'T CHANGE THE POLICY???? Anyway, he said I might as well be one of the protestor for the 99% and that I should try to get by life without any handouts.
This was about 3-4 years ago ( I just started yelping)..... Since then I hope you know CIBC.... I've got 6 people to leave your bank and 1 business owner....... which means you lost soooo much more than that.... 1500 hundred you should of paid for doing the RIGHT thing. read more
