I hired Chris Gibson Paving to repair an old driveway full of potholes, after my son and daughter-in-law passed away. Granted, I was a bit emotional and sad. We were trying to get the places up and running. Everywhere we turned, it seemed like people were asking for Large of money to complete jobs there, except for Pete Kiser electric. Pete was an electric contractor who knew the situation, and really tried to do the best for us These were tough times, as our kids had no money when they went to be with the Lord, and there was much to do to be able to pay their bills.
If I remember right, Chris Gibson Paving's price was close to $5000. I drove by the morning that they were waiting for the Asphalt truck to deliver to them. His crew was sitting there. I pulled over and saw that they had barely scraped the gravel out of the the potholes. And we're waiting to fill those holes with fresh Asphalt. When I asked if they were going to dig the potholes down a little bit, Chris said it would be fine. Knowing a little bit about Asphalt, I knew that a patch as shallow an inch would just break out. When I got in my car, I cried my eyes out, because I knew it wouldn't last and we were scraping every penny to accomplish what we could there. Sure enough as the year passed it started breaking away. It was a waste of money. My other son had a whole driveway paved beautifully for $10,000. That was three times the length of Ours. He was done about the same time as ours and he has heavy vehicles going up and down it all day. Never has had any problem with it. I hesitate to write this, but it's been almost 5 years. I contacted Chris four years ago my husband also talked to him and he was going to come out, but he never did. so I thought it best to be honest, so it doesn't happen to someone else. I will try to add a few photos of the potholes that he filled, that came right back out. read more
