I highly recommend everyone stay away from TCR. TL;DR several roofing installation mistakes made,…read moresevere lack of communication from TCR throughout the entire process, and I was asked to write a review before work even began - red flag. After getting roof replacement quotes from 5 different companies, I decided to go with the second to cheapest option - which was Twin City Roofing. And of course, I got what I paid for. The problems began after I signed the quote and handed over the deposit check. I live next to a day care and young children play outside all of the time. Paul, the project manager that was working with me, suggested they perform all of the work on the 4th of July week since kids likely wouldn't be at the day care then. I arranged with my neighbor to not have kids there that week. A few weeks go by and I didn't hear from Paul or anyone else at TCR. The Friday before the 4th of July week, I reached out to Paul to find out when they would be coming and he said "Next week I believe". Then on Monday when no one arrived, I reached out to Paul again. He responded by saying he was on vacation and that Robert P. in the production office could help. I reached out to Robert and he said "I can tell you it won't be this week." Obviously I was unhappy that the roof wasn't going to be replaced that week but I was more upset with the lack of communication throughout the process. It should not be on the client to have to contact the company multiple times to try to get answers. Nonetheless, when the roofers came to replace the roof on my house, garage and shed, they came unannounced. The concerning issues came from work on the roofs. The shingles on the ridge of my shed transitioned from shingles that are meant to be put on ridges to what look like starter shingles. It is very obvious this is not correct. And on my garage, there is a full 15" of a starter shingle that is literally just hanging from the edge of my roof. How did this get missed?? And the biggest issue is with the flat roofs on my house. I asked all of the appropriate questions to Paul from the outset to make sure that there would be grading on the flat roofs such that all of the water would flow to the spout and drain. Alas, a few days after the work was complete, we got our first rain storm and I saw water pooling along the edges of the flat roof and heavy pooling in one corner. I contacted TCR on July 14th and sent pictures of all of these issues. I didn't get a response so I sent a second email on 7/20. I finally got a response from Tyler and he asked me when would be a good time the following day for him to check out my issues. I responded with a time in the morning. I then didn't hear back from him and he did not show up the next day. I was later contacted by Robert and he said he was working on a game plan on getting my issues addressed. Five days later (7/26), he sent another email saying he would have a game plan the following day and he would let me know. As you can imagine, I did not hear from him on 7/27. I emailed Robert again on 7/28 with no response. Finally on 8/9, Tyler came out to my house to take pictures of my concerns. He agreed that all of them need to be addressed. He said he would let me know soon what the next steps would be. I have not heard from him since. I emailed Robert on 8/16 telling him Tyler came out to my house and that I was looking for more information when the fixes can occur. I have not heard from TCR since - at all. I should have known from the get go something was off because after I gave Paul the deposit check, he asked me to write a good review of his efforts to boost the company. I was certainly not going to write a review for services that had not yet begun. If you do go with TCR, make sure to pay as little as possible up front so they have to come back and fix issues before they get their full payment.

This company is so disorganized and is losing employees. I was assigned three different project…read moremanagers and never received any information about how a phase of the project went. The crews showed up without warning three times, which is dangerous and disruptive for my tenants. They attached my gutters to rotten wood that was supposed to be replaced and left the gutter guards with space so debris can get in. I have never felt so helpless and trapped in a contract with a company that does not communicate about what is to come, what has happened, and what will be. I am not certain or confident that the work has been finished and finished well. They really broke my trust. The stress, anger, and fear that I have felt for the past six months cold never be worth the price.

They were careful, clean and professional. Eloy came back to make sure we were happy and even suggested a few spots they could touch up. The touch ups were quickly. Trying to use one ladder to both climb to the second story and then lift it up to use on the second story damaging my gutters because they were too lazy to get out their other ladders. Offered to let them use mine and they refused. The brother of the owner was supposed to supervise the job. He has low standards and left wet paint in huge globs running down the wall multiple times forcing me to go out myself and fix it. Didn't caulk correctly, didn't prep correctly. Missed areas of paint. Asked for a different crew and was refused because they booked another job. Had to let them go and pay people off the street to finish and paint myself at the same cost. They left me with a damaged house, poor workmanship and half the house unpainted. I would not recommend at all. If they cared, they would have gotten a crew in with higher standards to finish the job but they didn't, and instead booked a job with another customer. At the end of the season so forced to hire laborers to fix this work and have the rest of the house painted. Hire someone with higher standards as it's not this company.

I had a sunroom and roof situation that needed more than a quick cosmetic repair. I wanted a lasting solution and a room that would finally feel comfortable, welcoming, and usable. The HyggeHus team was approachable, responsive, and honest throughout the process. They explained what they were working through, especially when the new roof structure required careful planning and coordination. I never felt that questions were being avoided or that decisions were being made without considering the effect on the rest of the house. The value I received -- within a very clear, efficient timeline -- was also notable. The people working in my home were highly competent, friendly, considerate, and easy to have around. They paid attention to the details, cleaned up after themselves, and clearly cared about how the finished work would look. The new roof and Hygge room have completely changed this part of my home. It now feels solid, warm, and thoughtfully finished. I would absolutely recommend HyggeHus to someone looking for a contractor who combines thoughtful planning with quality construction.

From the first conversation, Zeke listened to what we…read morewanted and gave us creative, cost-conscious options that still delivered on design and durability. Where other companies told us to "tear it down and start over," he saw a way to restore and improve our garage -- saving time, money, and a lot of material from the landfill. Even with a few weather delays, the communication was excellent, and we always knew where things stood. In the end, we have a garage that's straight, strong, and looks like it's been part of our home forever. If you want a contractor who cares about the details, respects your budget, and genuinely enjoys the work -- call HyggeHus.

Recommendation for Corbin Exteriors…read more Last fall, we undertook a major outdoor renovation project on our home, and I can say without hesitation that working with Corbin Exteriors -- and specifically Nathan Corbin -- was one of the best contractor experiences we've ever had. From day one, Nathan's attention to detail and proactive communication set the tone for a smooth, efficient, and high-quality build. The scope included James Hardie siding, a class 4 impact-resistant roof, gutters and protectors, general contractor for modern electrical improvements, custom steel eyebrow roofs, and even on-the-fly repairs to exterior walls that were uncovered during the process. Every challenge was met with a solution, not a delay. Nathan personally oversaw the transition from brick to Wisconsin stone, ensuring the aesthetic and structural integrity of the home stayed intact. His team worked cleanly, respectfully, and with a level of precision that's rare in large-scale exterior work. The project came in on time, on budget, and without a hitch -- a testament to Nathan's leadership and the caliber of Corbin Exteriors. I would recommend them without reservation to anyone looking for premium craftsmanship and a partner who truly cares about the outcome. Sincerely, Shannon Phipps Woodbury, MN
