Visited the Sunday only market with someone berry punny who is not melon-choly, but we did sample the melons, berries, peaches, plums and more. The peaches were so juicy! Definitely get a bag of those. A few did not make it back home! The heirloom tomatoes were so beautiful and the cucumbers are so crisp. So yummy! My daughter got a fruit tart that was so pretty and a peach agua fresca. So refreshing when the heat index was 107°. So hot, hot, hot. The market also has loaves of bread, amazing beet hummus and other dips, the most beautiful bouquets of flowers and jars filled with honey and jams. Too bad that the jelly was not airplane compliant or I definitely would have grabbed a jar to bring back home. A great fresh farmers market that spreads out over several city blocks. There's also this one empanada place which respectfully makes GLUTEN FREE EMPANADAS. This is not a drill... if you're GF, RUN don't walk for them!! I love how you can get the echo friendly glass gallons that they sell lemonade and milk in. We bought the lemonade. The ice cream was also AMAZING!! It was so creamy and rich. Prices are so reasonable. You pay everything up at the counter before going into the animal farm area. They also have feed to give to the goats and llamas by the stalls. They have a great area with a sprinkler to cool off and many places to even sit and have have a picnic. Loved this place and we had a great time with our dogs as well

We went on the first opening day this season and were turned away - which was disappointing because we spend a considerable amount of money each time we go. We have since gone to other farmer's markets that are dog-friendly, such as Manassas Park Farmer's Market and Mosaic District Farmer's Market during the weekends. The Thursday market in Old Town Manassas is okay for produce and some snacks - but also not dog-friendly. Note that there's no law about not allowing dogs to open-air markets. If the point of this rule is to alienate dog owners who have money to spend, then you have become successful.
