The night before our appointment I emailed Lazarus the scope of work with photos, floorplan, and to confirm our appointment. The evening of the appointment our rental tenant informed me nobody showed up. That's a bummer. I get it everyone's busy. But trying to locate a good contractor SUCKS. To have a contractor simply not show up and not give you a call is unprofessional and waste of everyone's time. It's been a week and I haven't hear from Lazarus.

The bathroom is about 12x12 and they quoted us over $6k to paint. $7400 for linoleum flooring. $600 for a porta potty, we have two other functional bathrooms! The guy (Jason) who came out insulted my intelligence when I told him my budget and he said nobody who's good would do it for that cost. Well let me tell you that 5 other reputable, insured, bonded, etc contractors came out and said that they could. Do yourself a favor...if you're getting a bid from them be sure to get bids from other companies as well.

Jorge came over and we talked about how the process worked, how we could break up what I wanted done into smaller more affordable chunks. He was extremely flexible with me being able to add things to be done, at a reasonable price, with reasonable notice-for scheduling. So far He has taken down the track lighting in the kitchen and replaced it recessed led lighting which is amazing by itself and has made my kitchen look brand new. He has replaced the hall lighting with the same kind of lights which allow me to see much better, less hazardous. He has replaced the vanity large, bulky, oversized, old light with a sleek new stylish light, which led me to see I also needed to replace the fan light in the bathroom, the sink and faucet. Now he is repairing some cabinet doors and will patch a wall area, install a toilet paper hanger. We are working towards blinds for the windows, lighting for the living room and flooring for the house. The work he has done is excellent quality and is a huge value add both financially and lifestyle/comfortwise. Wow!! I am a…read moreperfectionist and very picky. I care about the little details. And I can tell you that the guys and crews at Apex Paint and Remodel really knocked it out of the park! I straight up photoshopped my house colors on and they helped me achieve my vision. From the consultation - Evan and Travis gave me a lot of their time, answered all my questions, and didn't make me feel rushed. I felt super heard and like they were there to help me understand! I chose a paint and remodel company because I have a 1930s craftsman home and wanted its beauty and character preserved and enhanced - I knew a regular paint company wouldn't accomplish that. Then came the actual painting. I think I had them try like 10 different swatches and I changed my mind half a dozen times up until the last minute. The crews (led by Jeromy, Richard, and Jason) were all incredibly patient, warm, and friendly. Even when I panicked over my bold choices halfway through the painting, they were calm and easygoing (while still doing diligent and quality work). The guys on the crews were painters and carpenters capable of repairs and rebuilding my wooden porch railing. I will honestly miss seeing the guys around because everyone was so nice! It feels like I have a brand new house and I am so in love! The neighbors have been oohing and aahing as well.
