I came here after leaving another shop down the road where they tried to charge me over $500 to tell me why my air conditioner blows ice after sitting for a while. Not to fix it, just to tell me why it's happening. I said thanks but no, and had a much different experience here. After charging me over $5000 in repairs my car squeaks worse than before and now I'm leaking oil and my car smells like smoke if I drive it a few miles to the store. I paid five thousand dollars for you to effectively ruin my car and force me to get a new one. Because I've taken it to other shops now and they all say I would have been better off getting a new engine all together if I wanted to keep the car. But it has 265K miles on it, so getting a new car would really be the best option. Other shops told me that, but not C&D, you got your money, congratulations. You have the facade of good customer service, but you should have told me that maybe I SHOULDN'T do a repair because its not worth it. I was only in town for a week so I couldn't leave them my car for 2-3 weeks to do all the stuff they wanted. If I knew I basically needed a new engine I would NOT have put thousands of dollars into struts, spindles, ball joints. If opening up a rear main seal is going to cause a leak then DONT DO IT. They say I authorized it... well I didn't authorize you to make my car worse. Its a 2004 with 265k miles, have some integrity and tell your customer the full picture. Their NAPA "warranty" is useless as well. NAPA couldn't care less, said I have to deal with the shop. Unfortunately the shop couldn't care less either. read more

Under new ownership as of last year.. Family owned business now and the new shop owner Tony is great! Along with his entire staff! Cynthia the Service Manager at the desk is very nice and informative about the services they are going to perform along with the cost. They are a very honest, knowledgeable and trustworthy shop in my opinion. I just had an oil change done, my vtec solenoid replace that was leaking oil, and my timing chain tensioner replaced that would make a rattling sound on a cold start. They also adjusted the timing and replaced two spark plug boots on my 2014 Honda Accord Sport. Needless to say Im very impressed as my car runs great and there's no more rattling sound on a cold start. They are competitively priced on all their service's and quoted me a lower price than a couple of other shops did when I shopped around for prices before actually having them do the work. I highly recommend C&D Auto for all your car's regular maintenance and any major repairs. read more

Ac wasn't working so I asked to recharge it. They took a look at it and recharged it, but said it still won't work because the air isn't coming out. Which is something that a mechanic would know even without doing a full recharge. they recharged it anyway and then had me pay 280$ just to tell me it won't work anyway. I think they could have just told me before they recharged it but a business and they want to make money from this so they had me pay for something unnecessary to my problem read more

I was introduced to Dara back in 2021 about a year after moving down here from Truckee. Finding a good mechanic is hard in a new city and I went through quite a few before C&D auto. My 2005 Nissan 350Z has been a great car for over 19 years, but suddenly had stopped running twice within a couple days. Luckily, turning off the ignition, then restarting saved me from being stranded. I took the car to C&D because of their good ratings for foreign car work, and electrical system repairs. I was amazed. Within the first 90 minutes they called with the diagnosis (failed camshaft sensor). I authorized the repair, and within less than 4 more hours they called to tell me they were finished! They replaced both sensors in case the other one failed. They didn't try to upsell me on other work to do on the car. I have waited a few days to post this review, since I wanted to be sure they got it right. It looks like they did. I highly recommend them! read more

First time I called he sounded as though he was waiting for someone, the second time I called I reminded him that he told me he was going to call me back. Came in with a question about my vehicle and receptionist starts loooking at me like I'm crazy or something all snarky. And to add to that, one of the employees completely dings my car with his car door in the parking lot without a care in the world. Went straight to the mechanic shop next door with my money and I got the friendly help I was looking for. I had brought my car in for a power-steering rack&pin fix. I also wanted to have the tow-lights checked because I was renting a u-haul trailer and needed to make sure my connection was good. I was not sure if the tow-lights were checked and asked if they could do it quick and on the spot. I called and told the shop what I needed, and they were able to do a quick check for me. I came in with an alignment issue but my front end was NOT out of alignment. The mechanic told me that the alignment was fine but could be some worn bushings with the control arms. He said he would align the wheels to exactly to spec, but it wouldn't likely make any difference. I don't recall a mechanic telling me that a problem I told him that I had wasn't the problem and told me driving away was an option. Anyway, my point is I think this is an honest small business. Anyway, we addressed the more complicated repair that is the root cause of the alignment issue. My truck as 187,000 miles and as he explained to me the problem, it made perfect sense. Will I be going back? I have all the confidence in the world with C&D and have no problem bring my truck back for any other future repairs. read more

DONT BRING YOU CAR HERE‼Brought hubbys 2008 Dodge Charger here cuz car kept over heating. Gotta call that it was his thermostat + the cracked head gasket which we paid almost $1200 to fix , we had them check the engine etc to make sure it was good .Was told it was fine, next day hubby drives home from work car over heats again, we called them to let them know, they said to drop it off for another inspection. After the inspection NOW are told the engine needs to be fixed or replaced it will cost about $5K to fix in which when we originally brought it was told engine was fine! We took the car to the dodge dealership which they are telling us they ran a diagnostic & that thermostat needs to be fixed they inspected it was shown that they NEVER fixed it In all we just got ripped off by C&D‼ I HIGHLY SUGGEST U DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE‼ read more

C&D Automotive really impressed me again! My 13 year old truck with 95000 miles had a engine computer sensor go out last year. Bobby and his Father correctly diagnosed the problem, replaced the sensor, and had the truck ready when promised. I had the same problem again this year, took it back to C&D, and they replaced the sensor again, at no charge. They have no control over how long a part (or a sensor) will last, and even if their vendor that supplied the sensor replaced it for free, it cost them time (time is money) to replace it. That's integrity! I don't know what else they did in the short time they had it, but it runs better than it has in several years. I had an issue with my 20yr old sedan. It runs great but the door locks were unlocking and locking for no reason while I was driving. Also, periodically, not starting on the 1st or 2nd or 3rd try. I went to a couple of garages that told me I'd need to pay for a few hours of searching for an electrical short somewhere in the system. By fluke, I stopped in to the garage (C & D Auto Care) my boss uses for our work vehicles which always run great. So, I drove in after work one day and they were candid and honest about the fact that I simply just needed a new battery. the service was great, they kept me up to date with everything. my only issue is that they said I need a brake fluid flush so I approved it. I check my cars fluids about a week later just to do it and the brake fluid was about an inch higher than the MAX FILL line. im a bit upset over that so minus one star. read more
