The vanity top was cracked. Called the manufacturer and they would only replace the backsplash. Called Lowe's and it sounded like they were going to discount it so we could have it repaired locally (new counter cut) but now they want everything driven back. Closest location is 4 hours away (8 hours return trip and another trailer rental). Lesson learned? Make them open everything up and inspect it before loading it at the store. It was a bit stormy on the way there, but we figured it was worth it if we could get our product for the weekend project. When we arrived at the store, we learned they had just started selling the product, no one had been trained on the product, and they did not carry the product they had confirmed they carried. I understand mistakes happen, but confirming that you have a specific product should be fairly routine and error-prone. They were nice to deal with, but in the end they only offered to "have the product mailed to us" if we still wanted to buy it through them. Not a great experience. At least we got to use the restrooms there before our 80 minute drive home. Ouch!
