I first came with my husband and sister-in-law years ago when I was expecting, enjoying the ginger beer, the ample space, and not much else. I had it on my list when visiting again, but never made it inside. Finally, this trip, I got several pints, a couple of pizzas, and a burger, too. Order at the bar (note that there are £5 burgers on Mondays! and monthly specials for the burgers and pizzas), and pick your spot. I enjoy the little huts in the back garden, past the creepy cupboard (which is handy for threatening misbehaving children), but with so much space in the main room and the lovely outdoor tables, practically every seat is a good one. The burger was quite good for the price. The portion on the sweet potato chips was quite generous, and they were lovely and crisp. I enjoyed the pizzas - L'Ala Falco with sausage, onion, fior de latte, the June special with chorizo and corn, the margherita, and the kids cheese - nice crust with just the right amount of char and chew. Looking forward to more visits and pints in the future! 2019 Reviews #24

It's run by a couple of young men and they bring a true dedication to this business. Fabulous range and quality of beers and excellent, simple food. In times when other pubs struggle and go out of business this place is thriving and deservedly so. There are a number of these types of pubs that have appeared in Oxford These places have a good clientel who enjoy the atmosphere and the banter. It's like the re-invention of the pub with all the bad old thuggish bits taken out and the wonderful traditional bits kept in. This will be the saviour of the British pub which is otherwise under siege on all sides.

I came for the first time a few back, on arrival we was shown our table; which was not yet clean -…read moreso we said to our server that we would order drinks and wait outside for them to be brought out. 20 minutes passed and we still had not received our drinks; considering this was a quiet period. Then one of our party members went in and saw the drinks had been left on the side (ice had melted in the glass) so we can only assume, they had been there a while and we had to carry them out. As it was hot we brushed this incident off and within another 10 minutes we were shown to our table. Whilst getting our carvery, we was told we could only go up once (understandably). My peer may have got the last scoop of greens and we was told there was no more - until I sat down, I saw that a whole tray had just been brought out and I was refused to be able to get some as I had sat down. With one of the kids order, it was unsatisfactory - We found a peel off sticker in her food. Which as 4 adults looking at it, we were gobsmacked. This could have been a potentially serious choking hazard as you could imagine. The final issue of this was, we felt as we was rushed to eat, and when one of the servers collected our plates we asked for the dessert menus and we would be back in. As it was hot we took the kids out the front to get a little bit of fresh air and a breeze; and within a short while we was brought our bill outside to the table. Considering we had only been at Merry Miller for 45 mins and had stated we will be back in to order desserts. As a group we understand this is one of your busiest days but to encounter this service, I find absolutely shocking. I emailed them and still have not heard anything back.

The menu is interesting, the food is good and the portions are generous. If you order side dishes you may well find that you can't finish your meal. The service is OK as well. There's free wireless access, so it can be used for business meetings, and free parking. It's a reasonable place to take visiting friends and relatives :)

Bordered by the Thames River on one side and a somewhat busy road (for the area) on another, The Rose Revived Inn's riverside dining atmosphere is pleasant, pretty even, though I was underwhelmed by the meals I ate here. Still, with little competition in the immediate area it's easy to see why they remain a draw. Most who dine here won't also be staying the night but I did. The room was clean and nice enough though very small. Air circulation was unmanageable as the window proved quite difficult to open and the location of a provided fan was inadequate in helping to move the air around in a satisfactory manner. There's not a whole lot of choice in this area, for either lodging or dining and, as a result, I'd call everything provided by the Rose Revived Inn "good enough".

Despite it being relatively empty, the service was still astronomically slow. I won't be returning here.
