Recommend recommend recommend! The best part however is the people. The teachers, desk staff and cafe people are warm & caring, plus there's an additional office with avurveda, acupuncture and other treatments by lovely, qualified folks. When I was looking for a yoga studio, a friend said, "there is only one place-Breathe." She was right. The space is welcoming, with gifts and cute jewelry, there are 2 spotless showers if I need, filtered water, all the props. Do not hesitate--check this place out. While every single teacher may not be "yours", these are consistently excellent instructors who share stories, songs chants and even play an instrument once in a while. Candlelight flow, hot yoga, aerial yoga, power, yin, you name it. It took me a minute to commit (I did several punch cards before I took the plunge and joined) and I'm so glad I did. If you're looking for a true yoga community, you've found it. Welcome home

They also surprised me with a complimentary early birthday drink from their coffee shop, which was a nice touch. So I tried different physical activities - yoga spoke to me the most. It's wasn't just a workout at a gym, it was bigger than that. As I practiced more, I'd come to realize that physical aspect of yoga was a door to emotional and mental health, a path to a better life. Three years ago, I committed myself to regular practice with BRIGHT HEART yoga studio, and I've kept my promise. Today, I feel healthier, stronger and more energetic. I like being outdoors, and the physical competence I've acquired over these last three years makes my experience so much more enjoyable. Today I am who I wanted to be. I worry less and I do more. It's not something that happens to you overnight. It's what you create. Don't wait for tomorrow, start today.

It is only 39 dollars for the first month, for unlimited classes. I decided I had to join. I've been doing hot yoga on and off for the past ten years. Everyone at the studio is very kind and accommodating, they let you work at your own level and pace. They also allow you to borrow a mat, at no extra charge, if you happen to forget yours! I really recommend this place. I love all the instructors, the other students and the studio. The studio is small enough that it is doesn't feel overwhelming. Give this place a try! You won't regret it!

I'd called the studio multiple times to try and let them know that I would be late, but no one picked up the phone. I had done everything I could to do my due diligence but could not plan for the closure. Anyone with empathy would have understood. I was a member at the time, had never asked for an extension before in my history with the studio, and had no way of knowing that a political demonstration would shut down their street to foot and car traffic. When I arrived the woman at the front desk did not even care to ask if I was a member nor check to see if I'd ever requested a late arrival before. She just told me "no". It was really frustrating that she basically shrugged her shoulders and said "its policy" to not let anyone in past 5 minutes when it had been exactly 6. I understand the principle, but if it's someone's first time and they are a paid member (not ClassPass ) then they should be given a one time forgiveness. Despite canceling, I was going to give them benefit of the doubt and not leave a yelp review because they assured me they were genuinely sorry for the experience. That all changed today when I saw that I have been charged not once not twice but THREE times since this incident. Despite signing a form on the spot that day and the manager assuring me, this would not happen. I'd been charged full price of the membership 3x when I had never stepped foot in the studio ever since. I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to once again I have to go through the endless loop of trying to get a hold of someone at this business. I would never sign up here because you will never be able to know you are truly canceled.

There's so much to say about Bikram-- you have to separate the man from the actual yoga (because…read morehe's an awful person). I know Bikram has thousands and thousands of followers, but i don't believe the hype. There's no proof that any of the 26 poses really do anything like the claims (helping with inflammation, digestion, curing diseases, resolving spinal injuries). Locking your knees is NOT good at all, either. That's one of my biggest issues with Bikram. You are allowed to modify, but are supposed to lock those knees. That's never wise. This studio has such nice teachers-- but it wasn't for me. They don't want you to leave early, and will send a "volunteer" to follow you out if it happens. I know they want to make sure you're okay (and not doing anything wrong when no one is up front)but the instructors need to back off. They don't grasp the concept that many people need a break or need to leave the class early. The heat can be very dangerous if you're not careful. Don't let them keep you if it's too difficult. Leave! Another issue is the horrid smell of the hospital grade flooring. It stinks. This is hot yoga. It's no surprise. But with so many classes-- back to back-- when is Bikram SJ getting it clean and disinfected? How often and by who?? The stench was vile. The locker rooms are too small and also had a bad smell. The lockers themselves wouldn't work, too. Broken keypads. Dirty floor. Again, every instructor here is super kind-- but Bikram is very "clicky". Cult like. They swear by it and it's their right, but i don't get it. It's not a gentle yoga-i think it can do long term damage, especially to the knees. BYSJ is also super expensive. I paid for a few drop ins but wouldn't go back. $1900 for a year? I think $700 for 10 or 15 drop ins? No way! I know it's wealthy Silicon Valley, but the "average" person cannot afford this studio. I think everyone here is super friendly, but it's expensive and by far not the cleanest hot yoga studio I've visited. I've been to many.
