This "secret" swimming hole is wonderful! Water is super clean and the swimming area is easy to access.

Near the Church of San Pietro (St. Peter) is Byron's Cove, a rocky area where the poet Byron used to swim. I was here, but unfortunately without my swimming suit. Others at the time were more fortunate within the warm waters of this pretty cove. read more
Fantastic location for swimming or day trip from Cinque Terre. Pack water and snacks bc it is off the beaten path. Look for the entrance through archway marked Byron's Grotto at the base of fort ruins. Water is crystal clear and rocks are manageable not too slick or small like on other beaches. read more
